When you were looking at the alligator you were thinking how cool he was. When he was looking at you, he was thinking about how much he loves French food.
as thinking when she said "Hi!" She (the gator) was thinking "Hi! Come in! The water is great! (And I'm a bit peckish)" But of course they "tenderize' their food by stuffing whatever they kill under something, a sunken log or rocky area... whatever. Prior to eating... so not accurate, but anticipation of future hunger, anyway.
I was born/raised in Louisiana. You are finding out that it has the best food, great culture, great music and friendly and kind people everywhere you turn.
I'm glad you got to see a brass band playing on the street, and a parade with a jazz band and second-liners. These are things you don't see anywhere else. Also, it's great that you sampled some Cajun and Creole cuisine. New Orleans has some of the best food in the world.
Glad you got to visit the French Quarter during the day, especially Bourbon St. when it is a much more family/tourist friendly area. At night and weekends it turns into a very adult type of place.
So nice to see someone enjoy our city, and to see another perspective. It reminds some of us why we call Louisiana and New Orleans home. Love the LSU cap!
New Orleans (esp the French Quarter) is my mom's favorite city to visit and she went at least 10 times from Minnesota. She loves the music scene, the art, cuisine and the culture. I have a slight interest in it
Heavy cream was the bread pudding ingredient he couldn't think of. It's kind of like bread baked in creme anglaise. The most important ingredient in a good gumbo is roux brun, so all sorts of flavors from home for you in that meal.
A lot of us here in Louisiana have tons of relatives in France and Belgium. From the Fontenot’s here in the states welcome and enjoy our state. And thanks for the lsu hat. Keep doing what you do.
That gator was waiting for you to feed it Marshmallows. Also glad you were able to see our zoo. It’s rarely shown online. Even though I’m biased towards my city I do believe our zoo is one of the best zoos
The "spray range" sign for the lions made me laugh. When I was a child we were at the St. Louis (Missouri) zoo and a male lion came up and urinated against the front bars of the enclosure. A woman, dressed all in white, got completely drenched. We never got very close and I was rather young at the time but enclosure must have been relatively small and still of the cage variety. I don't remember anything else about visiting that zoo. 🙂
Bonjour Marie! As I noted that I hoped for in your prior video, you got to try jambalaya, gumbo, and étouffée. Now you just need to try a Po Boy, Crawfish/Crawdads, and a New Orleans Beignet (I'm sure you've had beignets before.) Hurricanes will light you up, lol, and that was so HUGE! Even sharing it would be too much, but yeah you gotta have it with food, OMG, it's SO much! Glad you have been having such a good time and great weather! Bonne journee! ~Be Blessed
New Orleans was one of the centers of Steamboats culture. The Port was once full of steam boats carrying people & cargo up & down the Mississippi River. Today traffic moves using large barges.
Your curiosity is contagious! I was in New Orleans years ago, and now i want to go back! 😂 These videos are wonderful. I love the laid-back feeling, and your music is awesome!
We were there at the beginning of October. Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Really enjoyed ourselves. So different from Southern California where we live. Lots of history. We saw gators too. 🐊 My daughter went to LSU. So I love the hat. 🧢
Such a unique and fascinating culture they have in Louisiana. Love all the sites and sounds. And the food above all looks absolutely amazing! Looking forward to the next one! 🍻⚜️🐊🍤🇺🇸
I was really hoping to hear maybe just a little bit of 'Crescent City' from Lucinda Williams on the cars radio towards the end. I know, copyright. Love your travel vids!
I saw a video with about 50 raccoons coming out of the woods in a state park where people were feeding them all the time . Completely abnormal population for the area . People feeding the gators at Disney World is what contributed to that tragedy . You can tell people not to do it, but as Forrest Gump once said his mama told him " Stupid is as stupid does " People show up every year in Yellowstone trying to get up close selfies with 2000 pound bison or harassing momma bears with cubs ... 🤦🏻♂️
The park where I walk my dog has a pond in it. Often, I will see a gator in it. Sometimes they are as little as 2 feet, sometimes as large as 7 feet. They are so amazing to see in the wild. Sometimes they will just "stand" in the middle of the pond. They are very quick and very strong. Before they were so common, there used to be river otters. I prefer the otters.
Sunrises and sunsets in rural Louisiana are some of the most beautiful you'll see anywhere. The atmosphere really plays tricks with the light around here
Your drone footage really adds a spectacular element to your video! It's a really great addition to your footage! The Louisiana cuisine looks so good, I'm starving now! 😋
Another great video Marie. Personally, I think N'Orlins is America's most beautiful city. And of all the contributions our country has given to the world, gumbo is my favorite. If it wasn't for the heat and humidity, I would love to live on the bayou. I spent a week down there for Mardi Gras in the mid '90s, and had the greatest time. The food, music, architecture, and atmosphere, all unparalleled.
Hey Bayou Marie 😀 🌅 🐊 Looks Wonderful Waking up by the River. The Gator was as curious as you are , he just wanted to know what's for Breakfast. Your taking your channel to new heights with some Super shots now you've using a drone. Those silver jumping 🐟 are something else but can be a nuisance for boaters growing up to 50 pounds , leaping over dams & taking plankton away from other Fish. They've been around Louisianan waters for over 30 years but what can you do , there here to stay. The Zoo 🐯 was Fantastic , I like that they've tried there best to make it as natural for the Animals as possible. There was quite a diverse mix , I'm sure some of them are on the endangered list. It's funny how they've thrown in a Dinosaur theme ( your playful like a big kid) but it kinda makes sense , Gator's are prehistoric to. The rare big Cats are so Cool & the Lynx's are cute when there young. I'm glad you saw Wild Dogs , I know there among your favorites. Having an encounter with Orangutans would be something Special. I'm not that sure what was up that tree but he's taking it easy. It was remarkable getting up close to a white Alligator. I'm pleased you'll enjoyed it , it deserves 5 🐾 out of 5. The French quarter where it's Happening they sure know how to jam & jive , loving the carnival 🎺💃 Vibe. The Bisque Gumbo looked 😋 with all the rich flavors hitting you at once. I thought you might already have had Bread pudding with it coming from Europe originally for the past 1000 years. It is kinda Christmassy , I see why it's popular , it's quick & easy to make. That was quite the 🍹 I'll be interesting as you continue to try new local dishes what your yummy takes are gonna be. Driving along the longest 🌉 in your Cool Mustang looked like sheer Joy ( that's really a big lake) as the city began to light up. Merci beaucoup for another great well edited Travel log , your friend doing great on keeping you informed about everything. With your Birthday coming up ( not sure if it's the 10 or 11 ) you can count on me to send a donation & a card. Take care Marie Praise be 🤗💟🏵️ ✌️
There's few places in the US that can claim the unique culture, ambiance, history, and specialness of New Orleans, Louisiana. Glad you enjoyed your time Marie. Your enthusiasm for all things American reminds me as an American how cool of a country I've actually got.
I'm glad to see you enjoying my city of NOLA. Fun fact, there used to be a bar across the st from that parking lot where you parked Uptown to go to La Madelaine where I worked as a bouncer in college. The Audubon Zoo is one of the best in the country, hopefully you got to visit the Aquarium and the National WW2 museum as well. Gumbo Shop was a great choice for what you ate. It's very common to have a second line w/ a jazz band after a wedding in the French Quarter, I've participated in a few myself. When I saw you film Tropical Isle, I was like, uh oh, is Marie going to try a Hand Grenade? It's one of our strongest drinks in town, lol. I actually grew up a few miles away from the Causeway Bridge in Metairie. The second bridge you crossed that is all lit up is the Crescent City Connection, and it was named by my little sister's class when she was in 5th grade as there was a contest to name it between all of the schools in town, and my little sis's class was the winner. I also hope you got to check out Frenchmen St which is next to the French Quarter, a lot of great places to hear live music. Halloween is a great time to visit, we go all out, lol. I hope you got to see the Ghost Manor house Uptown which puts on a great Halloween light/music/animatronic show.
I was born and raised in New Orleans, been living in St. Louis for many years. I go back home at least once a year. I love visiting. No place like it. Shocked at how expensive the zoo has gotten. St. Louis zoo is free so that's nice. So glad you enjoyed the food and the culture in Louisiana.
this made me want to visit there...I have only driven by there many times, but never visited. I am not a party drinker, so it never appealed to me, but clearly it's more. I have always been told it stinks and it's filthy, but it looked clean to me.
La Madeleine (Le? I always forget) is a chain of restaurants. I always got the impression they weren't authentically French, but I always liked their food. Kind of like how fajitas and other Texmex dishes aren't traditional Mexican food, but they're delicious.
There’s two types of music marches in New Orleans a wedding and the funerary one. You can tell exactly which it is from the music they play. The funerary one also has photos of the person draped in black. A major funeral march happened through the French quarter several years ago, a high school student was gunned down and he was the quarterback of the team. The police caught the suspect really quickly but it really made his family and girlfriend suffer. Charity hospital as it was known back then did everything they could to save the young man, the battle was lost after 40 minutes of cpr. It was bad. Hurricane Katrina got a funerary march as a way of saying goodbye to the old New Orleans to rebuild it a new.
I had so much fun visiting New Orleans at the end of September!! I was *going* to take the streetcar... and missed it by a minute :P So, I walked all the way from the WWII museum to the French Quarter! I also ALMOST went to Pat O'Brien's, but I had dinner in the French Market instead! Can't wait to see more from you!
Great video Marie. I need to give Louisiana and New Orleans another chance. When my parents, sisters and I stopped into New Orleans on our way to Florida, our car got broken into and some items were stolen. That was 55 years ago, but I remember how sad my sister was that they stole her brand-new tape player, "our only source of music at the time." My old coworker was Cajun and would make crawfish etouffee' and invite us over for a crab boil, I loved the food and the atmosphere.
I went to New Orleans for carnival in the 90s. Had a buddy who was the head of the Brazilian pavilion at the New Orleans jazz festival. He lived in a shotgun apartment with two strippers.. we went to the MOMs ball the mystical order of mischief. He gave me a drum and snuck me in with the Royal band. Best costume party gathering I've ever seen. Go back to New Orleans for Mardi gras.
Great video, in a great city,by a great French Creator, escorted around by a great tour guide.👌🎉 There are are many good imitation Cajun/Creole restaurants in Chicago. But, nothing compares to the food in New Orleans. I saw a baby albino alligator at the Audubon Zoo 36 years ago. That must be him all grown up now. If so ,he's looking great. That is a beautiful zoo. You did a good job showing some really beautiful and cool animals that you don't always see anywhere else. I'm glad to see the old trolleys on the way to the zoo are still operating.I hope the old mansions along St Charles didn't get wiped out by Katrina and are still standing. I'm glad you got the drone. It really adds a beautiful perspective to your videos. ❤
When you were looking at the alligator you were thinking how cool he was. When he was looking at you, he was thinking about how much he loves French food.
😄🤣
clever.
LOL!!
😂
as thinking when she said "Hi!" She (the gator) was thinking "Hi! Come in! The water is great! I was born/raised in Louisiana. You are finding out that it has the best food, great culture, great music and friendly and kind people everywhere you turn.
I gotta' tell you that Louisiana food is great, Texas Bar-be-que and Tex-Mex is some kind of good also.
I'm glad you got to see a brass band playing on the street, and a parade with a jazz band and second-liners. These are things you don't see anywhere else. Also, it's great that you sampled some Cajun and Creole cuisine. New Orleans has some of the best food in the world.
I believe the gator was begging. Probably, tourists have been feeding him scraps. He said, the last tourist was 😋. Lol
Love the LSU cap!
thanks..baltimore guy never been to this magnificent city...but i believe most ppl love it...i do.
Yes..Yes..Yes..a little cajun..a little creole..gator..jambalaya..beignets..preservation music..on..on..on...only in N.O. 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Welcome to NOLA! Laissez les bons temps rouler!
"Nawlins" is another written-out version...
Best food. So good, love ettoufee. My aunt used to play the piano at Pat O Brian's years ago.
Glad you enjoyed my home. I actually live in Mandeville. Come back anytime :) Love the hat. Geaux Tigers
New Orleans (esp the French Quarter) is my mom's favorite city to visit and she went at least 10 times from Minnesota. She loves the music scene, the art, cuisine and the culture. I have a slight interest in it
Oh bread pudding when done right is awesome
Heavy cream was the bread pudding ingredient he couldn't think of. It's kind of like bread baked in creme anglaise. The most important ingredient in a good gumbo is roux brun, so all sorts of flavors from home for you in that meal.

The South in general and New Orleans in particular has the best food in the U.S.
She isnt lost!.. she has just FINALLY found her way home🎉 to a home she didnt know she had❤
Beinvenue de Louisianne Marie
That gator was waiting for you to feed it Marshmallows.
Also glad you were able to see our zoo. It’s rarely shown online. Even though I’m biased towards my city I do believe our zoo is one of the best zoos
Born and raised here im glade you enjoyed our town Peace to you
Watching foreigners learn about Americana culture is genuinely satisfying.
Marie, your editing is perfection!! I felt like I was there. You should do editing professionally!! ❤😊
Thank you so much!! 😊
I'm so happy for you dear girl. I hope you enjoy it all
The "spray range" sign for the lions made me laugh. When I was a child we were at the St. Louis (Missouri) zoo and a male lion came up and urinated against the front bars of the enclosure. A woman, dressed all in white, got completely drenched.

I can only imagine how exotic that must feel, even other worldly. Memories you'll enjoy for the rest of your life.
New Orleans was one of the centers of Steamboats culture. The Port was once full of steam boats carrying people & cargo up & down the Mississippi River. Today traffic moves using large barges.
Bread pudding was originally made from bread that had gone stale, back when they used everything and threw nothing out.
Also English in origin not Louisiana lol
same as their pain perdu/french toast.
Your curiosity is contagious! I was in New Orleans years ago, and now i want to go back! 😂 These videos are wonderful. I love the laid-back feeling, and your music is awesome!
Yay! Thank you! 😊
We were there at the beginning of October. Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Really enjoyed ourselves. So different from Southern California where we live. Lots of history. We saw gators too. 🐊
My daughter went to LSU. So I love the hat. 🧢
The food is not “spicy,” we call it “well seasoned,” which means it’s a balanced flavor or season.
Still a lot of "spices" in Cajun food compared to other cuisines, and often it's quite "spicy" as well. 😁 I love it myself.
It can be spicy, but that's often optional. But yeah, more well-seasoned than spicy.
My Uncle used to live in Westwego on Lake Pontchartrain. He was the captain on an inter coastal waterway towboat.
Such a unique and fascinating culture they have in Louisiana. Love all the sites and sounds. And the food above all looks absolutely amazing! Looking forward to the next one! 🍻⚜️🐊🍤🇺🇸
It’s better than you can imagine. You have to taste it to understand. I’ve lived here since 1965.
You're editing and english getting perfect. You should get a job as a park Ranger for a year. You love animals. Great for you!
I was really hoping to hear maybe just a little bit of 'Crescent City' from Lucinda Williams on the cars radio towards the end. I know, copyright. Love your travel vids!
Marie, you look fantastic in that LSU Tigers cap!
Don’t bring up LSU. Too soon. Last night was rough.
Welcome to my state! I hope you have a fantastic time!
Drone footage was beautiful❤
2:50, the gator is looking at you and came to you to be fed. Many of wildlife near tourist areas are used to being fed.
Or wanted her to jump in, either option was acceptable to the gator.
@ , can’t stop laughing ✌🏻
I saw a video with about 50 raccoons coming out of the woods in a state park where people were feeding them all the time . Completely abnormal population for the area .

@@Freedom_Half_Off , oftentimes with fatal consequences. The most important takeaway from the word “wildlife” is “WILD”.
Welcome!! We love cooking and eating good food! I hope you enjoy everything about our State!!!!
Hope you get a chance to try the amazing BBQ down there ! All the regions are different but Louisiana just hits it out the park for me 😊
Laissez Les bons temps rouler! I love New Orleans and Louisiana. The food in New Orleans is amazing. Such a unique part of the U.S.
The otters disappearance is more so due to the fur trade in the 17 and 1800s, the otters left after that probably fell prey to the gators
You can out run a gator, ever see a family of otters running? Not getting away from those adorable monsters.
Glad you finally made it to Louisiana and The New Orleans French Quarter
Sunrises and sunsets in rural Louisiana are some of the most beautiful you'll see anywhere. The atmosphere really plays tricks with the light around here
Marie, your videos are the BEST.
New Orleans is beautiful. Thank you, Marie, for showing it to us.
Your drone footage really adds a spectacular element to your video! It's a really great addition to your footage! The Louisiana cuisine looks so good, I'm starving now! 😋
Marie, always love your travelogues. Your enthusiasm is infectious and the videos themselves are beautifully shot.
The Gumbo Shop is delish! I have not been there in years so glad to see it is still there.
What a coincidence! My wife and I stayed at those exact cabins when we visited. Beautiful place to wake up to.
It’s great seeing you experience America.
I learned to drive with a ‘66 Mustang. That was a looong time ago.
Another great video Marie. Personally, I think N'Orlins is America's most beautiful city. And of all the contributions our country has given to the world, gumbo is my favorite. Your English has come a long way. wonderful
One of the best thing about Louisiana?
Crawfish!!!
We eat em a lot here in Texas.
Cold Beer and Crawfish cant be beat!!!
Best food ever ✌️
What an awesome place. So beautiful and full of life. This video is like an ad for Louisiana! I want to go.
I’ve lived in Louisiana since 1965 and I love it. I’m in native of Florida. Moved here from California and never looked back.
Looks like a blast!
I'm so glad you were down here ... and had a Mustang as well !
Really enjoyed this.
You make the best videos Marie!! I'm always excited when I see you have a new one.

My cousins live in an apartment in one of those 3 story buildings you videoed in the French Quarter.
As always, love the wildlife shots.
Thank you for this! This was exactly what I needed tonight.
😁🤓💫🐊🦂🚎🎩🎼🪕🎺🟣🟡 Loved the drone!!
Where ever she goes.. She always has a good experience... Was waiting for her to make it to New Orleans at least....
Happy Birthday Marie!🎂Hope you're having a great day. You definitely need your own Mustang!
Thank you 😊
Another great video. The drone shots really added to this one. Your stuff just gets better and better. Keep it up!😃
Hope you enjoyed the Cajun and seafood ;-)

Hurricane Katrina got a funerary march as a way of saying goodbye to the old New Orleans to rebuild it a new.
I am so glad you were able to enjoy some good Louisiana cuisine. Did you notice any French influences in the food and the city of New Orleans?
What a day! Spectacular! You squeezed in so much, from sunrise to sunset and beyond. Glorious! Way to go, Marie!
I’m a Yankee but I love New Orleans. It will expand your palette and blow your mind. So much cohesion. One of the greatest cities in this country. ❤❤❤
I drive that bridge twice a day for work
I had so much fun visiting New Orleans at the end of September!! WONDERFUL VIDEO! 😁 it is a PLEASURE EXPLORING and DISCOVERING with YOU! 👍☺
Great Video... I grew up in NOLA and now call Texas home... this video made me VERY home sick !
Looks like you hit some great highlights.
Gators really enjoy having Mustang loving little French girls for dinner. 😛
Welcome to Louisiana!
You need to visit the Lafayette area this is the heart of Cajun County.
You wearing those Cargo Pants is the coolest thing ever. You seem like someone's best friend when you are dressed like that.
I hope you had fun.

The engine sounds when you were running up the hill got me good. 😂
Something is fascinating, you were fascinated.
Hopefully your host will take you someplace where you can open up that Mustang and you can experience what they were really made for.
Dammit!!!
You're killing me!!!
I think the Wife I are going out for Cajun Creole for dinner tomorrow!!!
And I know just the place!!!
Great video, in a great city,by a great French Creator, escorted around by a great tour guide.👌🎉 There are are many good imitation Cajun/Creole restaurants in Chicago. It really adds a beautiful perspective to your videos. ❤
Hope you had fun. The food looked amazing. Stay well and be safe. Mustangs for ever.
Wow - you did all that in 1 day! Looks like fun! Have more fun!
