Thank you for your video. I'm actually contemplating buying a MB Electric Smoker specifically to hold my briskets for 8 to 10 hrs after cooking them on my offset smoker.
Hy Spence! Thanks for stopping by and watching! I wouldn’t hesitate purchasing one, this is my second and I love it for many reasons, and being able to have long hold times above 140* IT after smoking on my barrel or offset is one of the main ones not to mention that it will smoke up some very tasty BBQ too! Ik its late but question. What are the pans for? Bought one in good condition at a yard sale and it has 2 pans. You showed the oval one and thats the water pan. Whats yhe large sqaure one for? Is it just a tray to cook on or what? Do i need it in? Probably a bad idea but using it for the first time to make thanksgiving turkey
Thanks for watching! The only pan that came with mine was the water pan. The other pan is probably an extra the old owner purchased aside from the smoker.
After thinking about it for a bit I am thinking that square pan may be the pan that goes at the bottom of the smoker below the heating element and chip loader. Its purpose is to drain the grease toward the grease drain at the bottom back of the smoker.
@BakersBBQ Sweet! Thank you! Just cleaned her up today with apple cider vinegar and water and tomorrow we are smoking a pork butt. She's currently seasoning with vegetable oil that's the only oil we had at home. This will be our third time using our smoker

@BakersBBQ you put 4 10 pounds butts in there? My goodness! Hiw long did that take? Did you have to rotate them at all? That is a lot of meat for a smallish smoker, and airflow is important! LMK!
It handled it just fine and was done it 10 hours! Just make sure you leave a little space between them for good air flow. Also, I recommend that you leave the water pan empty to catch the drippings and make sure your grease drain is cleaned out. Happy Smokin!
I have one of these and the electronic timer/temp control is a pain in the butt. It keeps kicking out and I have to reset it all the time. Thanks for stopping by and watching, Chuck! I have never tried using pellets but I don’t see why you couldn’t however I would refer you to the operators manual for the final say. I will add that you get such good smoke out of wood chips that I don’t see the advantage of using pellets.

Thanks for watching Jennykaradin! As you can see from reviewing my channel I use all types of smokers including an offset so I fully understand your delima. I am assuming you are referring to the ambient temp reading, correct? I didn’t have this issue but I agree that with a stick burner you are driving the fire verses it being on automatic pilot in the electric smoker, which is a bit of a game changer. I have always trusted the ambient temp on my Masterbuilt Electric Smoker & it hasn’t failed me yet. I use the same cooking times and temps as I do with my offset but I sometimes have to adjust, but that’s where knowing the fundamentals of bbq kicks in so I recommend to trust the temp but do all of the normal steps as the Pitmaster to assure it is done to expectation; i.e. probe tender on a brisket or passing the toothpick test on ribs etc. Does that make sense? Hey Macneto, thanks for stopping by and watching! You don’t add wood chips to a pellet smoker as the pellets are its fuel/smoke source & are fed from the hopper, but on the electric smoker your only need to add wood chips the 1st 2-3 hours depending on what you’re smoking. For example; smoking a pork butt you could stop adding chips after about 3 hours but if you’re doing something smaller like burgers or dogs you may only add chips once so as to not over smoke the meat.
