Justin's ONE sturge was more like a dirty burb, the way he wanted to be all curled up.
I fish sturg on the croix in Minnesota/Wisconsin and a size 6 treble with 4-5 beads leading to a bullet weight is the best rig I’ve found for them. The bait sticks out of the bottom and makes it easier for them to find it. Also spread them holes out. You hook a biggin and it will be a mess lol. Awesome vid.
Sounds very similar to my whitefish rig! I'm planning to rock a few sturgeon overnighters this winter. Have a few spots I have been meaning to check out

You guys ever consider using circle or octopus hooks instead of jigs so you hook them in the mouth instead of snagging them?
Mac says they don't hold on to the bait long enough to effectively fish with that method. You have to catch them in the act of succcin
