- It was time to go hunt for some first ice, and it took a little to find some but we did! I can't stress safety more than anything this year as whatever ice there was is disappearing quickly with the warm weather, and we don't have much for cold temps in the long range forecast. PLEASE BE SAFE!

Another great video Clayton, The laker videos are really good to start off the season but first ice is always exciting. If only the forecast for this week wasn't so warm. We need some ice making weather! And great job talking about those young guys at the show, I spoke to one of them for awhile at the show, they are very enthused and really know their product and ideas. They are definetly going places!

That's a pretty sweet set up in the garage. The weather turned warmer here so looks like its gonna be a little while before ice up. Its ok though because I needed the milder temps to get more work done. Stay safe out there🍻

Your videos get me excited for ice down here! Usually we are not on the ice until early/mid january. Last winter we got on the ice around christmas and then it was open water the rest of the year .

I met a young man a couple years ago who was taking his dad fishing. His dad slipped, fell, and smacked his head on the ice so hard it made him a kid again. Very sad, don't underestimate the power of some cleats.

Awesome! Still boats on turtle. Last year we were on sleds and some in vehicles on the lake by Nov.25. Maybe by the new year this year if it stays this mild! Of course it’s mild when I wanna try out my new live imaging 😂

My personal safety tip for my wife's sake is this "I'm never going to be the first one out on the ice and never the last one off in the spring." Thanks for being the first one out there. Just beginning to get skim ice on the ponds here in the Adirondacks.
Just because someone was first out does not mean it's safe for someone else either... The next day this ice was trash and not fishable...

It has been unbelievably warm for November here in Alberta. I don't mind the extended fall but it's likely going to be early or mid December before there's enough safe ice to even walk on the local lakes.

Check your weather, I'm located in between Red Deer and Calgary, and it's supposed to start getting pretty cold in a week and a half to 2 weeks. Some of our lakes are frozen over, but it's sketchy ice, and some lakes are still open. Hoping in a week and a half winter bites down pretty good. A couple guys were on one of my local lakes yesterday, so next saturday I'm gonna try to get out, but will be taking it slow and not going out far. Only fishing 2-4 feet of water for some brookies.
@@levideforest3177 we'll see. Only takes a week of cold weather to get things going for sure. For some lakes, like Sylvan, the season doesn't even open until December 11th. I'm sure we'll still have lots of hardwater days ahead
I have been looking into getting a bar of soap made of stainless steel as it gets rid of all sorts of smells. I've used one before and found it to work really well. I wonder if it would work for fish smell?!? I hope I can make it up to the cranberries sometime for some of those big mama lake trout. I'm going to go to Colorado soon, and try out the lake with the new world record. Keep up the good work on these hard water videos. They're my favorite to watch in the winter.
