    I have a problem with a lot of waltz songs

    • @jcdanceco
      @jcdanceco  Год назад

      Admittedly, some Waltz songs are more difficult because they are softer and therefore don't have a strong beat to them. Sometimes you have to really listen carefully and key into the slight accents in the music without having the obvious "boom-chick-chick" as a hint.

      the best thing Ive heard about waltz is to listen to the 'swing' on the 2 as some waltzes have very little emphasis on the 1

    I get problem with Rumba timing

    • @jcdanceco
      @jcdanceco  Год назад +1

      If you are dancing the International Rumba basic you will be holding your weight on the "Boom", and stepping either forwards or backwards on the "Chic". But if you are dancing the American Rumba basic you will be stepping forward on the "Boom" and sideways on the "Chic". Good luck and be patient with yourself. Understanding music and coordinating your body weight does take time.
