      he didn't frame that right. the fact that a band released solo albums from each member and all sold over 1 million copies was quite an achievement regardless of the fact that no other group has done it or even tried. most bands wouldn't take that kind of financial risk and most bands were not popular enough to even consider it.

  • @Playitstraight44
    @Playitstraight44 4 года назад +12

    That statement about the solo records actually selling platinum is completely false. KISS received platinum certification for each record back in the day when that distinction was given for how many SHIPPED, not SOLD. It was because of this manipulation that the industry changed the certification to the amount actually sold. All four records collectively sold about the same as one good KISS record - a total of 1.5 million copies. This meant 2.5 million were returned. This was significant because it led to Casablanca going heavily into debt, which was covered up through a sell to Polygram Records who did not know the returns existed because they were hidden on the books. The solo albums were a complete flop which spelled the beginning of the end for both Casablanca and KISS' meteoric rise during those days.

      right the story I heard was his own producer thought he was hard to work with, and wanted somebody different to play drums .
      I love PCs style but I understand Bob Ezrin actually looped Peter's drum beats to get them to sound more consistent on Destroyer.
      Back then these producers like Ezrin would have everyone do a zillion takes of everything .
      today they make a scratch track and use the scratch track with Virtually Simulated Technology to get any sound they want, or just drop and paste the loop in digital

    And now since they dont compose and only used Peter and Ace symbols, they find a way to bitch one another.
