JAWS is one of my all favorite movies and I finally read the book last year. I MUCH preferred the characters as depicted in the film over the book. And I'm one of those folks who almost always says "the book is better."

Thanks for your comment. There were definitely aspects of the book that I liked even more than the film. I am loving reading books these days and this was a good read for me after so many years.

Hello Dave! I have never seen Jaws or read the book. Actually, I think there is only one book I ever read that was turned into a movie. Needless to say, I don't read much. It does seem cool to be able to read the book and see the movie.

Hello. Yes, I really enjoyed reading Jaws again after so many years and was surprised how much I enjoyed it as well as how truly different it is than the movie. Hope you have a great weekend.

Hi, Dave! I found your channel on the r/smallyoutubers subreddit post, weekly discover. I posted there as well 😊!
I like your intro with the snow it was very relaxing. Your lighting and sound quality were excellent. My only criticism is you didn't mention which you liked better, the book or the movie. Obviously, you are a huge fan of the movie, as you mentioned earlier in the video. Is the 4k version worth a watch? Thank you for the entertaining content my good sir. You have a wonderful day.

Thanks so much for your comment and kind words. I am new to posting on Reddit so good to know there is an active community there. As for Jaws, I do love the movie better. Jaws is still in my top 5 favorite films after all these years. The 4K release is very good and worth a watch.

@CinemaDaveMedia No problem, just trying to help out us small RUclipsrs. I'm not new to Reddit, but I'm new to that sub. I don't even think I could narrow down all the movies I like. Also, most of mine would be comedies. Jaws has one of the best sound design/score with the infamous "Dunha.............Dunha....... dunha dunah dunah. I bet you have been a blast to see in the theaters. If the movie industry really wanted to make some money with minimum effort, they would start doing re theartical releases. With the sound systems in theaters now a days and the 4k screens ( maybe even imax with the help of AI), people would go back to the theaters. There is a market for it. Every year around Halloween, the Rock Horror picture show sells out in cities all over, and it's just a cult classic. The industry can't get too greedy on the ticket prices, or no one will go. If you find that sweet spot on the price.....BOOYAH. I would go see the original SW trilogy (ep4,5,6) multiple times for sure as I was born a yeah after ROTJ's release.

I read Jaws sometime back in the '70s and seem to recall finding it underwhelming. The movie is so much better.
There was only one part of the book that stuck with me. I won't describe it (in case someone reads this who doesn't realize your video has spoilers) but it's safe to say it's the storyline that wasn't included in the movie.

Yes, I agree though I did enjoy revisiting the book. I do love the movie more. The book had so many unexpected things none of which wound up in the movie.

This is one of only a handful of instances in which I prefer the movie a fair amount over the book. Not that I didn't like the novel, but none of the characters were truly likeable there. I also think "Bladerunner" is deeper than "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep," although I like the novella a lot and PK Dick in general.

I completely agree with you. The characters were not really likable in the book. Great thoughts on “Bladerunner” too, love that movie.

I enjoy the movie far more than the book regarding Jaws. However, with Jaws 2 it's the other way around funnily enough. I have to recommend Jurassic Park as a summer read if you have never read the novel; it is a bit different from the film adaptation so that it's almost a completely different story in ways. I highly enjoy both the novel and film of Jurassic Park.

Thanks for the recommendation. I love Jurassic Park and haven’t read the book in many years. I’m a big fan of Michael Crichton.
