- Omen has been S tier ever since his bugs got fixed post-release, and Evil Mojo has finally clamped down on his power by reworking his most popular talent, Umbral Lance. This new talent permanently keeps his weapon in between the two fire stances, which makes Omen a LOT less consistent - especially at range. They fixed Omen being top tier... at what cost?

I personally think it was a good idea in the long run for Evil Mojo to retain the firing mode mechanic on all of omen's talents, but there was a reason why people wanted to not interact with it. the shotgun being the tap fire and the single point being the hold fires is super janky.
So just don’t play Omen anymore, got it
Same i was in a round picked my loadout and shit then just suffered and relised they reworked it
I’ve been playing him a lot , I like his gun , he doesn’t start getting really good until round two chronos and weapon/ability damage shield and play the back lines don’t push unless your teams with you
I played Omen the other day and his void choke glitched out in place. Which prevented me to shoot enemies, this happens occasionally whenever I play him.

Yes, I had to reset Omen by dying. They really made Omen a “bug” monster.
It’s infuriating when you have to die by your hands and give the enemy points as Omen in TDM.
It’s unfair to your team as well, I prefer Saati and Tiberius since I don’t notice any bugs they have. Heck, I can play Viktor more than Omen without a utility bugging out. Ps. I’m a Tib main.
3 Ideas not the best
1st- Replace Umberal with the precision treament the more shots you land the higher damage
While replacing more more with Reduce Spread of gun
2nd - Switch more more into increase bullets your gun fires instead maybe not by flat amount but % based
3rd - Remove more more and keep old umberal lance but, give it some downside
Tbh I never enhoy champaions that can only rely on one talent but, better than making em Cluncky
Remove random spread. It's unhealthy for any FPS experience since it punishes good gameplay for no good reason.
Fixed spread allows players to build good muscle memory instead of relying on the 'missed pellets make my hit pellets stronger' gameplay that feels unrewarding, even if the damage is okay.
Edit: That double barreled shotgun idea would work better if it did enough damage to finish mildly-healed squishies with both shots, maybe giving it ~1200 damage per shot with the chance to lose damage if some pellets miss, but reducing its firing rate ever slightly and reducing its effective range heavily so you need to get up close to do that damage, and also giving it a decent reload time buff since you're relying on getting close to do that damage.

@@kickpaw Fixed spread doesn't negatively impact cqb combat as long as pellet damage and the spread cone are accounted for. If you've ever played TF2 on Casual and Uncletopia/Competitive alike, you'll notice the difference between random spread and fixed spread and how a fixed spread makes a positive impact.

Speaking of inconsistant results, at 3:15 you fired 4 shots, at more or less the same range, and dealt 75, 155, 236 and 603 dmg lol
It's because omen's shot gun changes its spread each time you fire and so dmg.
13:31 Hmm, so good damage numbers don't matter if your damage is incosistent, regardless of how it's incosistent? I mentioned that before when you talked about how nasty Barik's damage is, but didn't consider where that damage is getting focused (e.g your Turrets can shoot at a random enemy while you try to widdle down a patient Flank or a rushing Frontline, which leaves you with ~81%/~67% of your of your max 620 - 740 non-ult damage). That means even if you can build your ult faster due to having a higher overall output, you're not contributing the same amount outside of your ult due to the placement of your damage; be it missing damage due to random spread, or having a part of your damage focused on a target who could simply dodge your damage, heal mid-fight, or get healed.
it feels like with barik, buck, furia, they all are shotguns, but the damage spread of their pellets is funky
so say the shot shoots 5 bullets, if you hit one pellet, you would expect it to deal 200 damage, but it would likely do 600, and the additional 4 pellets, if hit, would deal 100 extra each - it really helps with making shotguns feel more consistent, but they are not really "shotguns" at that point

All shotguns can hit 2 champs at once. So all have more than one bullet. It seems though, that buck and barik only shoot 2 bullets, while Furia and Omen shoot 4. Because Buck does either 700 or 350 damage on close range while Omen can do 83, 165, 330, or 660 damage.

And here I was hoping for Binary Void to get a minor buff this patch
All they had to do for umbrella. Lance is reverse how his weapon spread works.. This would allow him to poke at long-range and as he gets closer, loses accuracy.

Umbral lance is not an in between talent, it is based off of the Antumbra mode not penumbra mode. Which means he shoots slower than his base rifle mode (0.48s x 1.3= shooting 0.624s) it would be cooler if it was an in between talent instead of just a huge self nerf.
It is in between. Penumbra mode is 0.3 seconds and Antumbra mode is 0.48. That's a 60% decrease in fire rate. And Antumbra mode also eliminates the spread. The new talent is literally right in the middle of both of these values: 30% fire rate reduction, 50% spread reduction
@@haysan32 if you see the gameplay, Andrew chicken is shooting slower than Antumbra mode on umbral lance
Also Antumbra mode does not eliminate spread, it only reduces it by 80%
@@underthat4350 That’s probably just a mistake then where the talent is not doing what it’s supposed to. They actually wrote in the patch notes online that it’s supposed to be directly in between both modes

I think just a rework to the More more more card would be good and keep the spread of the new umbral lance is fine just the fire rate is what makes it feel so unsatisfying to use, but at least now there's sort of a reason to play the other talents 😭
I think theyll change it back with how inconsistent the dmg is and how rough it is to play. Plus he is has a bug when you go to gravity vice someone you just lift you hand up and you are just stuck like that walking around till someone kills you
It might be bugged. It doesn't ramp down but should still go up with the wording.
Its interesting how hirez nerfs champions, instead of making small changes to test if it goes well, they just change drastically and kill the champion, Omen is useless after this update, even more for long range maps, they could at least make the shots 100% precise while still having a lower fire rate to be viable, or just remove the more more card since damage buff cards were always OP, his fire rate is a bit slower compared to Saati which deals around the same damage too, so it wouldn't make it op being precise. Its just like what happened to Kasumi, she was the best champion and became the worst after one update, now she's kinda balanced to be honest.
Omen is now balanced with his own design. Low range - huge damage - bigger risk. Afterall he can control the range with his 2 abilities

I would keep more, more, more as a Card. also, old Umbral Lance, but I would make Antumbra mode not no apply Ominous Brand. Also nerf damage fall off.

i feel that the everyone dies talent is very underrated it halfs the grips cooldown if you hit someone with dark stride and increases dark strides damage by 100 and that is what makes it good that 100 damage. it makes for some really good quick damage minimum of 2k max of 2.5k (both of these numbers are with 3 shots + dark stride) that is really good damage and that is possible in less than a 2 seconds, that 100 damage allows you to kill squishies without having to reload durring a fight (only applies to more4) or wasting deadly domain or grip as without it it would leave them very low but not dead

More more ore should just be a talent tbh

they should have just made him a bit weaker but just make is gun like a semi auto rifle with nice damage on headshots, now he feels fucked
I tried omen after a hiatus... WTF... they crippled him.. its not even playable
Yeah, he is basically useless rn, I tried many loadouts and nothing saves him, mostly because his weapon is extremely inconsistent, sometimes you hit 50 dmg and sometimes 500.

Absolutely stupid to turn him into a point blank flank with three useless talents.
I disagree with Andrew’s proposal to fix omen and I also dislike the changes that evil mono implemented to fix it. I don’t feel like omens damage was the super problematic issue. It was the effective range he had with that damage and the ability to headshot. And instead of fixing omen’s inconsistency issue EM made it worse. I would’ve kept umbral lance the same except instead of a tight spread of pellets it turns into 1 slug projectile that way he can’t headshot he just does a set amount of damage. Reduce his base effective range by 15-25 units. Allow umbral lance to give hime 10-15 units range back. And finally reduce more, more, more’s Dmg increase to max out at 18-20%. Instead of the like 30-40% it is now. I don’t think the card itself is an unhealthy issue for the game. But it is rather overtuned. Which if dialed down a bit could balance it. And it would effectively be countered by haven.
Lastly I would have reworked his other crap talents so that there isn’t just 1 usable talent for the guy. I don’t have any ideas for those though so feel free to share ideas.
I think this new talent makes him feel awful to play, his usual gun feels more polished and fun to shoot.
Why can't I snipe with a shotgun 😭 guess you'll have to play Omen as an antiflank with this talent and build

IDK why you think that the original umbral lance design should have stayed... so boring, and took away one of the ONLY things that made Omen unique. This talent.. is a little better, but for the love of god why do we as players ever accept champs with 1 useable talent
Bcuz it changed his playstyle, and that's the point of talents??? And that talent wouldn't have been so popular if his base weapon wasn't so inconsistent. Now that all his weapons are inconsistent, people realize how ass this chanpion feels to play.
@@awoooga5857 It didn't "change his playstyle" it BECAME his playstyle. By making a hurr durr I'm lian with more damage talent he became the least exciting champ to play in this game while also being the strongest. If you played that talent outside of competitive, I have no respect for you.
@CoDrNooo it still changed his playstyle even if it was the most played. And again, if his base weapon wasn't so ass, it wouldn't have been his most played talent. And I dont play omen at all. His entire kit is boring to me. Inconsistent shot gun, area dmg, jenos grab, and vertical jenos ult. Doesn't interest me in the slightest.
@@awoooga5857 Diversity doesn't matter if there's an illusion of choice in Ranked (since why should choice be limited to Casual?) and the community has had ample time to request those kinds of changes, but many players only request changes on the talents they play since that's all they're used to.
