I believe you have the steering wheel in digital mode instead of analogue, and that's why it's either fully left or fully right. See if you can find anything about how you can change the mode in the manual

I bought a used G27 strapped to a wooden frame with an actual car seat attached (probably a Honda civic seat) for 300 Canadian Rubles a few years ago. It’s a very fun little set up.
I have bought a complete stand, so race chair and wheel+pedal holder, pretty stiff and the Thrustmaster T125 For a total of 165euro second hand. It works amazing for what I want now.

You should go to the very next level with a metal stand that has a chair wheel tray on the front like the GT Omega classic and some basic force feedback like a thrustmaster T248. It wouldn’t be THAT much more expensive and I bet it would be a million percent better.
I have the T248 and it's not a bad wheel. Great for a noob like myself and I have it attached to a Playseat EVO Alcantara rig which is pretty basic but gets the job done. Mind you, if I was to go for a direct drive wheel, I'd have to invest in a better rig as the dd would probably cause the same issues as Dawid's wheel does to his rig.
This must be the wheel combo that half of the open lobby racers use on pretty much all sim titles. The style and skill level is consistent with what we just watched....
I have an old serial wheel setup from the Win98 days called the Ultra Per4fmer. Too bad it's no longer usable in today's games as it has such good motors I remember it ripping the wheel from my hands in NFS Most Wanted.
🤔Might want to check that. If the Pedals are up against the Crossbar that the base of the Steering is mounted, no matter which direction the stand floor frame is the distance will be the same because it is how far the steering mount pole can telescope that determines the difference in distance.

13:17 you can use software like antimicro to reduce the deadzone, it will mean that your wheel inputs will now be normal WASD inputs, but I'm pretty confident that the wheel is doing that anyway.

Honestly if you're a casual and want a great system to start, go for the Thrustmaster T300RS GT with a Next Level Racing F-GT Lite & spend a bit more on the Wheel Attachment like the Ferrari SF1000 F1 Wheel or a Sparco style if rallying. Best £1000 I ever spent and it can all just fold up easily afterwards so it doesn't just take up a tonne of space forever but still be rocksolid, fully customizable to be either full F1 mode or GT mode and pretty comfortable for long sessions. Gotta say I love the fact it has much leg space! Will never buy another playseat because of that stupid damn bar that is in the middle that holds the wheel. Also the SF1000 is an absolute must! IMHO this is the best price/performance out there and can always have addons along the line if you wanna upgrade pedals, brake levelrs and gear shifter (which I also got too)... Happy Simracing 😉👍🏻

I'm still rocking a 20 year-old Logitech Momo Wheel that I bought for nothing. It has this modern feature called USB, still works in modern Windows and most racing games. It is very well built and it gives a satisfactory experience.
I picked up a Logitech G920 and shifter this past summer and I love it. I did spend a bit on a frame with mounts for everything, then took apart an old office chair to mount on the seat base. It's fun and comfortable. It does take some Calibration and getting used to.
1) You should have calibrated the wheel inside the WIndows first. It's a really hidden option but it's necessary for proper use of these basic wheels. Remember using my good ol' Wingman Formula and it basically had to be recalibrated before every use. Then it served well. 2) Using the chase camera with a steering wheel is very unnatural and no wonder you didn't drive well. You should have tried hood or interior camera. Fun video though.

I had a similar but more professional stand, for flight sim controllers, but effectively the same thing. It came with an instruction manual and those metal strips - they are for attaching pedals. They clamp around the bars of the stand and have holes which should match up with the mounting points of popular pedals.
I got my arm broken pretty bad and had to get surgery for it couple of years ago. After watching Dawid's pain with this setup, my arm started to hurt again just by watching his strugle.
just a heads up, to keep the table from falling over on its own weight you just tighten the thumb screws on the clamps and then reclamp it down. This increases the pressure of the clamp and will hold everything in place.
From what I know those cheap steering wheels have a button in the middle to change from fully left and right to progressive left and right or whatever it's called. So you probably just had to press a button and it would've been 10x better.
These games are called the dark soul games of racing for a reason. I have 1 & 2 and even with a logitech G27, they are tough games. To get a 1st place, you have to deserve it. With VR they're very cool.
I can imagine you taking the tape loose from the desk and just folding the "stand" with the wheel and pedals still attached, and chucking the entire mess into the dumpster.

You can mod the G27's brake pedal with a load cell sensor for a better experience. Well worth looking into.

This was a funny video. One point of notice: you should use the wheel stand the other way around. So the wheel is closer then the pedals.

Wow, i didnt think dawid doesnt know ho wto tighten a clamp! The Stand is probably quite ok if he'd know how to set it up correctly, i have a similar one, had it for 5 years now and its holding up.
Attention to anyone who uses suction cups, they are meant to be used wet. The water creates the air tight seal needed for suction cupping
