The "Octavia" is a pure 100% analog and hand-build effect pedal, which creates exactly those famous fuzzy and ring-modulated octave-up sounds Jimi Hendrix worked so often with. Also Jeff Beck and Stevie Ray Vaughan integrated that special effect sound with pleasure in their music. Following the tradition of this certain class of octaver/fuzz pedals, the Vahlbruch "Octavia" employs a custom-made transformer and new old stock germanium components for the authentic reproduction of this famous sound on a top-notch quality level you have never heard before!

@@continuum83 I agree, it's best to spend more and get the right gear the first time, and then it enjoy it for a long time. I looked up the Protein overdrive you mentioned, and that sounds amazing too. Now I need to look up the Realtone Blackface, thanks for all the tips!: )
@@continuum83 Nice, those are two overdrive circuits I'd love to have on my pedalboard, and the demos of the Protein sound excellent. The Realtone Blackface also looks amazing, it's hard/expensive being such a fan of German companies when I live in Chicago. The Vahlbruch chorus pedal will likely be my next import: )

Using the Pigtronix Octava which is a beast of a mini pedal. Would love to hear it side by side with the Vahlbruch Octavia!
Pigtronix Octava mini is the one I have too! I have a hard time dialing it in but I like it
@@Jaysteenn yeah lots to tweak alright! I love that you can run it as only Octave up effect, only fuzz and both! 5 Controls on a mini pedal, lots to tweak! Really love how it responds with the neck pickup on a Strat and rolling the tone down. Seems to bring out the octave up more. Also the Pigtronix Octava seems to produce its octave easily over the whole fret board. Other octavia style pedals seem to be happier around the 12th fret.

Good morning. I have an idea for a little more content for your youtube channel. Since you're a fan of the CAGED system, perhaps you could put together a 5 part series entitled, possibly, "Soloing the shapes". Part 1 could be a 5-10 minute video entitled "Soloing the C shape", and you could just do your thing in that shape for 10-15 minutes. In that position, you could demonstrate C major noodling/phrasing, followed by A minor noodling/phrasing. Perhaps 5 minutes over a C major vamp, then 5 miutes over an A minor.
Just an idea.

I'm yet to find a single use for them when ad lib soloing - it any other time, for that matter.
