Thanks for checking out the video guys!
    **IMPORTANT NOTE**
I didn’t mention in the video, I got too excited but the ‘Lowest’ mode is where it’s at! It only adds the octave effect to the lowest note you play, irrespective of how complex your chords are, it’ll just add it to the lowest note! So sick!

Boss have knocked it out of the park with this one. 100% sold. Pog & sub n up are going back in the cupboard

Why? Sub n up isn’t that good?

    • @Christopowaaa
      @Christopowaaa 4 года назад

@@metalgotte it's really good and I had it on my board for a long time, but this new boss pedal sounds tighter and cleaner imo. To my ear, the OC-5 octave effect sounds almost baked in to your tone where as pog and sub n up you can kind of hear it as a separate effect sitting underneath your normal sound. Plus the range feature is something I've been after for ages and ages

Totally agree. This thing sounds ridiculously good and makes me regret my pitch fork. Way less synthy as Rabea mentions.

Ben Boule ok your comment just sold me before even getting all the way into the video! I was wondering like hmm that new Pitchfork+ just came out, but this seems like it has a better TRACK record...in all meanings. I’ll let myself out.

The OC3 has polyphonic mode and a range control. I have a bunch of them and I play guitar and bass at the same time with the stereo out into a bass amp. Been doing this for 10 years!
I’ve recorded my last FOUR albums with this setup.

Yeah, I’m a little confused at this video saying OC3 isn’t polyphonic, because it actually is.

So good you start by mentioning Population One, I literally came to this video cause I started listening to the Mourning Widows record again this week and suddenly wanted an octave pedal

Great demo Rabea. That's all the convincing I need. Absolute kudos on the weight loss too mate. 🤜🏼🤛🏼

Once again a verry thorough and instructive demo Rabea. And that Drop C sound with the low range is quite impressive (beautifull guitar by the way)🔈🔉🔊

This is the review I was looking for! I'm planning on using this on bass but I could tell from other reviews it tracks well on that setting. I was looking for the handling of power chords though and this excels!

Hey Bea, yep, thats a keeper!
I have the impression that the pedal really sounds like you but even better(court)
The way you set It up with the range is like having a distorted amp paired with a crunchy amp, so cool.
    Love the sounds!
    Cheers

Awesome thx! Damn. My oc3 is hitting eBay soon. If I may correct you Rabea: the oc3 has the range control. For years It has been my superpower in solo singersongwriter gigs. Awesome to dial in the octave effect for e and a string TIL the 7th fret to fake the bass while fingerpicking. (yep it’s so precise)But what you missed: you can feed the octaved sound out on the one jack and the dry guitar signal without the octave out the direct out in its usual fx chain. So Bass stays dry and tight. no bass mush in delays etc. Great 3D separations.Live I’ve got an extra amp for the octave bass with comp etc. When I Throw it on my guitalele heads turn for the bass player/ For desert rock I ad in a fuzz on the bass chain. Fun. Try it! Would be awesome if it would be selectable if the hi octave goes out via direct or mono jack.

Does this mean that what bea did with oc-5 poly can be done with oc-3?
