Honest to god, Mr. T trying to move on with the segment and not being able to because he can't stop smiling because of the crowd and Conan just letting it roll because Mr. T deserves every second of adoration? Outstanding.
He appeared appreciatively moved by the audience's rambunctious applause which was why he couldn't help but grin during the stage introduction. For a toughie, T obviously had a sweet engaging smile.
I saw this when it aired live and I never forgot it, the part about the fools coming to T's house. I remembered it clearly, but have not ever seen it since it first aired.. Until now. 20 years later.
So wonderful to see the long-lasting cheers, and then the standing ovation for Mr. T's! Best was the last one: "Fools will come to my house to ask me to stop pitying them, but it will be raining and I won't be home ..." I laughed until tears came to my eyes! This was right after seeing Mr. T trying to jump over the T Street bridge, with Coco's comment, "If you are a fool, Mr. T. will pity you." ;-D Coco, you need to return to your roots! We need more sketches like these!!!
This is an under-rated comment. My brother said "Hey, I found a late night funny show with weird sketches." He discovered Conan O'brien. Been an old fan ever since.
Good to note: when Mr. T goes on Letterman, he gets pissed off enough to just stop talking. When Mr. T goes on Conan's show, he can't talk because he's too busy laughing.
I remember seeing this when it aired and I couldn't stop laughing every time Mr. T tried (and failed) to contain himself. Did he do more than one "In The Year 2000" segment? I clearly remember a joke about Afghanistan's name being changed to "Ipitytabul".
This video was in 1999 and his chains in this video aren't real. He did sell most of his gold for real to cover the cost of some surgeries he had and if my memory serves correct, this Conan show was really his first real comeback after being away from t.v. for a while due to being sick.
Was there a different Mr T appearance where they were talked about playing Conan’s show in Iraq and Mr T responds with “I pity Kabul”? Tell this wasn’t an adolescent fever dream!
I wonder if any of these segments were ever from before 2000 or even from 2000. Most of them were later. Okay, in the recommendations is one from 1997...
I love how everybody cheered because he said Britney will be Murdered he neglected to add Police will be arrested and will be given a sentence worse than death he will be strapped to a chair and will spend the rest of his life listening to a Britney Spears Song Oopps I did it again at the maximum volume possible he will move to TBS after losing the Tonight Show but will vanish in 2022 and will never host a lateshow ever again people who cant afford cable or sattelite will only see old videos of Conan on youtube or podcast
I hope conan gets his sketches and characters back, and hope he only does this year 2000 bit with different celebritys and not with andy the andy ones suck!

@@LinkRocks With a jovial and engaging smile he processes, most undoubtedly😁.
'In the Year 2000' was amazing while it lasted, even after 2000
If only they’d named it In the Year 3000 they could’ve kept it going longer. 😔
@@parkermudsen1063 They did.
*especially* after 2000 🤣
@@parkermudsen1063You say that as if they still weren't doing this bit in 2009 (which they were). Clearly you missed out pal.
I love how Mr. T delivers each of his lines flawlessly, and then promptly loses his shit
Where is Mr. T right now? We need him now more than ever.
I saw this when it aired live and I never forgot it, the part about the fools coming to T's house. I remembered it clearly, but have not ever seen it since it first aired.. Until now. 20 years later.

I just quoted this and had to find it!!
@@wvman2374 Hell yes.
Only reason I looked for the clip. I’ve thought it this joke often since I seen it when it aired!!
Still coming back to this in 2024. xD
This was brilliant. Mr T trying not to laugh. Love this guy.
This was the most 90s segment ever. And I'm old enough to have gotten every reference.
Yeah except this was in the early 2000s
@@Handlethis81637 The culture of mind does last into the new decade for a few years. Stop being a doucebag basement smartass.
Mr T trying to contain himself is gold
You cant beat that, thats about as good as television gets.
Mr T seems like he's on the verge of cracking up the entire time...
He did that a lot on The A-Team! What a great smile!
Conan O'Brien was so much better than anything on tv over the last thirty years.
This clip must continue to be preserved.

Love Mr. T struggling not to crack up
This is one of my favorite things of all time.
I remember seeing this Live and thought it was the greatest thing on television at the time. Turns out I was correct.
Same here, all the way in Finland:)
This might have been the greatest moment in television history.
Doesn’t include the classic “50 million viewers will watch the Friends finale in which it’s finally revealed that NY has black people”.
This is an under-rated comment. My brother said "Hey, I found a late night funny show with weird sketches." He discovered Conan O'brien. Been an old fan ever since.

Watching Mr. T crack up is literally the best 😂
I hope Conan revises this in his new series and calls it The Year 3000!

"All together now,"
and one is not another...
(Thank the great t.)
one of the greatest moments in television history
FINALLY SOMEONE PUT THIS UP THANK YOU!
Still better than any talk shows since.

MR.T kicks ass!
When Mr T gets into a laughing fit he doesnt stop. Billy Crystal had Mr T on the floor on SNL when Mr T and Hulk Hogan hosted SNL together.
Mr. T has great comedic timing.
Not sure I’ve seen Mr T laugh before
The Backstreet Boys were admitted to the Burn Unit immediately after this aired. Most of them made a full recovery.
"Classic!"

Ya gotta have lived through an Era to understand the hunt for Red Buttons.
If you could find more of In the Year 2000 with Mr. T, that would be great.
Mark VanElls I don't think this was a regular thing, was it?
@@Mrsilenciobackgammon I think Mr. T did at least one more of these, possibly two?
I love the other one with Mr. T ," Mr. T will become a judge on America Idol and coin a new phrase.... I pity Abdul"
T looked like he wanted to start cracking up.
Someone should add more In the Year 2000 Mr. T edition.
Mr T is adorable
Don't make me come over there!
this is epic

Yes. That's exactly what happened. Exactly.

I love guessing what year these are from based on what Conan’s face looks like.
I wish I could find the non-claymation version of this with. "I pity Kabul!'
I pity the fool that doesn't cheer for Mr. T. One hell of a human being.

Mr. T losing his shit! They Need to bring his cereal back!
There was another "Year 2000" bit with Mr. T.... he answered something involving the middle east by saying "I pity Kabul!"
The Northern Alliance announced they will begin broadcasting "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" in their capitol city. I pity Kabul!

Am I mistaking or was the guys name “ La Bamba “ ? 🤣
The guy saying "In the year 2000", yes, that was La Bamba. Legend for these segments.

The talking Clinton painting 👍 "Then I will have no choice but to challenge you to a DEADLY game of HUNGRY, HUNGRY HIPPOS..."

Conan.
Look up the Dean Martin Roast of Mr. T. It will help renew your faith in humanity.
You can tell this is before 9/11 because Mr. T still has all of his chains
Well, that and the "international terrorists will meet in mid-town" joke. That would not have played as well post-9/11.

Mr T isn’t funny
This has got to be the dumbest skit Conan has ever done. Not just this one; the entire concept.
It simply isn’t funny.
Go watch The View then
