    There is a local lady to me who makes stunning flowers from it and she does classes. Went to one amazing!! She's amazing. So since then I've made cute little toadstools, and earrings! They seem to be ok once fully dried!!
    My friend has made a glass jar decor and another friend made a lotus flower!! Love this stuff and relatively clean project!

      Ohhh that sounds absolutely beautiful and yes you're so right - a clean craft. It genuinely was so easy and no mess - no stickyness - so so nice to use.

    You could put a few drops of an autumnal essence oil onto the backs of them, add some string and you’ve got a car freshener!

    I've never tried this stuff, but now I'm thinking I have to - as if I hadn't tried way too many craft materials already 😂.
    Watching this video, and seeing how the clay behaves, ideas started pouring in:
    - Napkin rings (the leaves just got me thinking how cool they'd look)
    - Notebook or diary cover
    - Embelishments for cards, gift wrappings and such
    - A mobile, since they're so light
    - Maybe if you covered a metal bangle with the stuff, a really unique bracelet
    - Still using metal blanks as inner structure, you could probably make other durable pieces of jewellery (depends on the shrinkage)
    -Depending on how squishy the cured stuff is, could this work as a stamp?
    I'm gonna stop my list now, but I have to get some of this stuff.

    Maybe you could use the foaminess of these to make your own ink stamps. I've used these in my work place to make my service user key rings. The stuff holds up quite well really and will take a reasonable battering

    I use this light clay to make unicorn horns for my ornaments. It dries hard. You can paint it & seal it with resin.

    Idea: I think you could use this to make decorative embellishments to put on tumblers. Just use molds to make interesting shapes, put them on a tumbler and let them dry (so that they dry rounded to fit the tumbler). Then I’d glue them on, maybe paint them and cover the whole tumbler in epoxy resin.

    When putting your foam clay into molds, it really helps to plop it into the freezer for a little bit. It will come out of the mold so much more easily when you do that.

  • @janetd1691
    @janetd1691 27 дней назад +1

    The foam clay is easy to pop out of a mold if you put it in the freezer for a little bit. You can coat it with mod podge or uv resin... I am currently working on making mini gingerbread houses with it. Definitely therapeutic to play with! Enjoy!

    After a while it sets quite hard. I wear pendants made from it 😊
    Its brilliant for moulding for example a wooden dolly into something else.
    I made an afro lady,2 sets of whimsical trees & mushrooms ,a giraffe,pig & 3 caterpillars.
    With my grandson,he made a pink pig,pink dog,pink cat,pink sheep ...and none are actually pink😂 (hes only 3) 🥰 xx

    The main reason why they take so long to dry is what makes the foam clay stick together is a clear PVA glue. Yes, it will stick to the craft foam sheets. You can use water to smooth it as well. Try drying it in a resin dryer or resin heat mat. Can take most types of sealers. My favorite type is ModPodge. The foam does have pores so when using silicone sealing is a must. Also, using mesh-like tape or fabric-like tule will strengthen thin pieces as when it's fully dry it's rigid, and thin pieces will snap.

  • @IsabeauC
    @IsabeauC 27 дней назад +1

    Connie is the reason that I bought 5lbs of the foam clay. That's way too much. You can use resin pigments, acrylic paint, food coloring, nail powders, mica, and I don't remember what else I used. When it dries you can use anything except Mod Podge. It comes right off unless you paint the entire items first. I was tired of looking at plain medicine bottles so I covered one with air dry clay then I used temporary tattoo lavender sprigs and foam clay mushrooms. I painted everything with extreme glitter. (Thank you Tea and Art.) I used UV resin as glue and on the tiny mushrooms. Glitter nail polish was perfect for the larger mushrooms Oh, you can mix air dry and foam clay if you mix them the day before. I don't know why it takes a day.
    I want Connie to move to North Carolina so we could be neighbors.

    I have used this for a variety of thing, it does shrink as is dries. I have managed to "reactivate" the clay by dipping it in water, though I don't think that's recommended. I always use it on a heat mat or with a dehydrator (resin curing machine). You can just put it in front of a fan, too. But be very aware of the fact that if you're going for a particular size and shape, that will change as it dries, and not always at the same rate. Thankfully it's super easy to cut and carve.

    Glad you are enjoying playing with foam clay! It is such a therapeutic, tactile clay. I use it mostly for fake bakes, and use fondant moulds for fake bake embellishments. It's also great if you need to block off part of a silicone mould. You just need to pick it off the cured resin and do a bit of cleaning up. I also find foam clay forms works great with the silicone I use, as it doesn't inhibit the curing process. I've tried a few varnishes, but best results tend to be from uv resin. I'm sure you'll find a multitude of fun things to do with it! It's fab in a clay extruder too. Can't wait to see what you create! x ❤

    happy birthday Claire :)🥳🥳 not sure what I would do with this I don't think the stuff I do are quite architectural and has a lot of structure so I don't think it would hold (I do custom horses)

    That was a playtime, that stuff looks great, loving how thin you went with it, does it shrinks on drying? I hope so. Happy Birthday and Thank you 🌷

    P. S. I think this was the video you were asking for reading suggestions. I am listening to an audiobook by Ruth Ware (coincidentally, who is British). This is the 3rd book of hers I have read, and each one is great! 🤗
