    I have a different brand one of these, that being said I use mine quite often on larger floors. Makes it very easy to square up a room. Before you ask, yes I install tile professionally. Been a contractor since 1982. Is it the be all end all? No but it is very helpful in certain situations.

    Perfect timing, i was pretty disappointed that my new Milwaukee $300 laser couldn't do floors like this so i was looking at what was available but didn't see any top brands make this type of laser. Glad you made this, def looks handy for starting walls.

    TILERS!!!!
    Little tip
    I use a hot glue gun to glue my flat edge stabila levels onto the wall. Then when tiles dry I just pull off. 3 to 4 blobs.
    Hope this helps.

      I use a straight wooden plank. Like 2 x __ whatever amount is desired.. Put a few drops of thinset. And just adjust it to desired height.

    • @Cookie.x.monsterr

      @@markgonzalez8828 I didn’t know they made straight wooden planks. I like the idea. Seems old skool to me. Not knocking it. I would say hot glue drys in seconds and with a level it’s super fast.

      @@Cookie.x.monsterr just your regular pine . Sometimes a 2x4 . Depending on the weight of the tile. We just use our level to check the piece is straight. As long is straight and didn’t bend it works 😀 is it hard to get the glue of the straight edge? Or that’s exactly for that purpose?

    Getting ready to tile bathroom floor and will be using Ditra over plywood. Does the Schulter edging at the door threshold to the room go over or under the Ditra? Is it just set in thinset like the wall trim? Thanks

    Wont the pins going through your wallboard compromise waterproofing?

    I am thinking they should have made it with green lasers since they show up so much better.

  • @Trucker-Belly
    @Trucker-Belly 3 года назад +1

    You should have used it like most tile guys will and do use it. Most of the time you are tiling a room next to a wall. Doing it like that wont work bc the walls are in the way. Your video should have been about doing layout and squaring up the room and also why the back has a 45 degree angle.... still love you though!

    It looks rugged and has beefy mounting options I haven't seen on other cheaper laser squares. Thanks for the review!

    This and the Bosch laser pretty much disappears in a well lit area. Basically useless unless it's really dim in the area you are working.

    I want to see a green laser . Overall I think I just want it to double check my lines are square on the floor. Doing the 3-4-5 method is good but this laser would eliminate second guessing

    There are well-made 3-way green lasers, self-levelling, fro around $50, that are great for small -medium projects. This is a boat level with an extended line from the laser. And it needs to be ON the surface you want to tile, not projecting on to it..I'd never use this.

    • @markgonzalez8828
      @markgonzalez8828 2 года назад

      This might be just to get your floor square. Mark up the lines and chalk it down.

    It has three mounting holes? Damn, just like my girlfriend:). So what does this do that my $50 one doesnt do? I wouldn’t mind getting it but its basically a torpedo level so I would never rely on a torpedo level for anything bigger than a niche or curb. I guess the Dewalt fan boys will love it!!
