    Interesting tutorial, thank you for sharing!
    I think seeing recurring tasks ahead would be ideal, though it is not possible to do with the templates. I have a working database with a complex formula that works great for recurring tasks, but I would love to see a tutorial on it.

    I had no interest in a chores dashboard, as I already have a system I like, but I watch all these videos for the chance of learning something new. I have been using templates for tasks and for projects, and every time I go make a new project, I have been manually updating the filters to only include that project. I had no idea this could be done automatically. Making that update immediately!

      glad this was helpful! appreciate that you watch all the videos. anything you'd like a particular video to be about / building / cover a specific topic? :)

      @@ProductiveSetups Of course! I feel like my system is ever evolving, and watching videos even on ones I might not be interested in exactly what they are doing I find super helpful! You never know what little nugget of information you can find. haha I think my biggest struggle currently is in my system (it might have been part of your Headquarters system, it might not have, I don't remember lol), but I have "notes" and i have "resources". I kind of get how these are different, but in the same breath I dont. My system is basically a second brain, where I have Topics (areas), Projects, and Resources. I also have notes. Currently, I have been using notes as like, actual notes, like study notes, and resources are more like checklists and things like that. I feel like notes and resources are blurred (to me). So maybe something along the lines of handling resources vs notes? Or even if they are combined, a good way to combine them?
      Sorry if that was rambling. Lol

      Something else I thought of too was maybe a use case for Wikis? I just recently saw this was a feature of notion to "create a wiki" and havent seen many people do setups and use cases with these.

      that's a great idea. I'll write a Newsletter about the difference between Notes & Resources. Many people have asked as they seem similar. Great question, appreciate it :D@@cryoweasel

    This was a great video! Thank you. I have a question, though. After I create the template for a chore, make it recurring every two days, it seems to work the first time only. When I click "done," it never reappears two days later. What am I missing? @notionsetups

    I think I understand how to use this one task list with the projects database. I so liked your 'shipping list' video, but have been struggling to understand your philosophy. Not that your other videos aren't clear. They are. Aligning with your paradigm is a shift for me. This video may have given me the clarity I've lacked. Thank you. Your channel is a jewel.

      so glad that you found that video helpful! :D It really underperformed in my eyes, but it's a bit of a weird idea tbh. Thanks for your lovely comment

      @@ProductiveSetups Your message is consistent. It's a different way for me to look at how to use Notion and GTD. I've been thinking I should go back to your early videos and work my way through.What I like about the Shipping List, (and yes, that's the name of my HQ page now), and about simpler, but highly useful videos such as this task list and how it relates to a projects database is that they're scalable. They can be adjusted for a 'team', but so useful for an individual. So much of what is out there is about teams working together, but I'm a lowly PhD student/writer/oral storyteller in need of a system that helps me produce real work for my lone self. Individual workflows are not as highlighted anymore, even on the Notion channel. I understand why, but it is a little frustrating. So I appreciate how you look at things and how you relate tasks to measureable work and always keep the individual in mind.

    Ok, thank you. But what if I live with my partner and want to put all information in there but also be able to filter it for on person, bc a partner is kind of "lazy" in planning?

    Hi I purchase Headquarters last week, Love It!!. Thanks for this video, I've been trying to figure out how to do the recurring tasks which you explained in this video. I have a question for you. Let's say I have 20+ chores or recurring blah blah tasks. Does that mean I would potentially have 20+ task templates since each 'chore' has a unique blah blah recurring task name. Couldn't I just name the template daily blah blah task set the recurring task to daily. When I'm ready to create a new blah blah blah recurring task all I need to do is change the name of the actual task not the template name.

    • @ProductiveSetups
      @ProductiveSetups  2 месяца назад +1

      Hey! Thanks so much. Glad that you love Headquarters! :D Yes, you would have a lot of seperate recurring tasks in that case. Well a solution could be to do a "daily chores" task and a "weekly chores" task list. Then have checkboxes in those "items" with all the tasks involved. :)
