Welcome to the fold and thanks for sharing your experience! :D This game has been one of our staples for our 6 player gaming group. You should try it at the maximum number of players (5). This game amazingly manages to be always about the same length (90 mins) very much unlike Mansions of Madness that can also give you 4 hr+ scenarios (and works best as a 2 player game ^^). For game nights Cthulhu DMD is so much more fun and plannable. If we are 6 one takes over the Mythos phase and sets/moves the monsters so everyone is engaged. Love that all wins and losses feel so very close. Really looking forward to the upcoming Seasons 3&4 including painting and sharing with the game group :) Stumbled across your video because I updated my review on BGG and was suprised that the video was so very recent ^^ Have a great weekend and many more fun sessions! (PS: It also painted up very well and it looks fabulous on the table ^^ hate Manson of Madness Minis and only play that with the tokens :P The app also urgently needs an undo button)
Me and my friends played Cthulhu:DMD 2 out of the last 3 weeks when we gathered. We aboslutely love it. The score is 3:1 for bossess (3 games with Yog-Sothoth). Last night we managed to put Hastur to 6 hp in his final stage and he nuke us all. Its so fun. You discuss tactics, movement, where to go, what to trade, etc. One of my friends couldnt use his ability because we were pushing ALL the cultists and disciples into his zone. Was fun. Cannot wait to play more of it, we have 3 more episodes, 2 more bossess and 1 more season to finish (with 6 new episodes and 10 new investigators)
"Roll the die to see if fire deals you a wound." As a person who has been somewhat on fire...OK, an embarrassing number of times, when does it NOT deal you a wound? Have I just been rolling bad each time? Clearly I've been playing with the wrong kind of fireworks.
For its ease of learning this is one hell of a good time I’m in episode 4 an alternate already looking forward to opening my season 2 episodes! ( There is a new stand alone expansion coming is now on kickstarter I do believe)
The Kickstarter ended quite a while ago for seasons 3 and 4. Not sure if you can still back it. I am all in because the stretch goal extras are totally worth it. This is one of my all time favorite games.
Same--wish I hadn't waited as long as I did to pick this up and play it. The last CMON/Lang game I truly appreciated was Blood Rage... Cthulhu DMD is just too much fun to ignore! 👾😄
New box? Nevermind it seems i missed the KSer ffs lol, its all confusing, skipping season 3 but are releasing season 4 at the same time they are releasing a Version 2 off CDMD.
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer need to find it. And need to find this game. Just found out about it a month ago! And so badly want to try it.. i’m also just as sad as you that i didn’t know about the kickstarter way back when 😭😓
@@TheDiscriminatingGamer it is the time factor. You can play this in about an hour and a half and almost every scenario in Mansions take well over three hours
I got full Kickstarter, there is a lot of ways to play this one and a lot of content. Issue is the amount of boxes you get 😆. With Kickstarter content, i have 15 episodes and 5 monster boxes so alot more game than what is shown here. Game came out awhile back, surprised it took so long for this one to get reviewed.
The both jokes really hit hard this time 😂 I think the game is somewhat mediocre... I guess it really only shines if you get invested on the horror story.
I got my money's worth from it, but honestly: balance in this game is a mess. And it gets much, much worse if you buy an expansion (I refuse to play with it, cause it makes it nearly impossible to lose). If you played it a bunch of times, you grasp the mechanics, you can tell whether it will be a win or loss in a particular scenario by just seeing which characters your team got (BTW: I played most of my games with a random pull, cause we quickly got tired of winning every time).

And How!
Id also like to see where this ends up in your top games. It is definitely top 5 for me.
We'll see. Thanks!
I love this game. Can't wait for the new box to get here.
Excellent.

Are you planing to make a video with the new season?
@@MatisReligiosa-1x Stay tuned.
Where is that dice tower from?
My girlfriend. I think she got it from Amazon.

This is our favorite game, together with AH LCG and Mechs vs Minions.
It’s a great game!
One of my favorites. Such an easy game to teach. Actually got rid of Mansions of Madness because I would always rather play this.
Interesting. Not ready to give up MoM yet, but this is a lot of fun.

Yeah. As mentioned in the video, I just never got round to it till now.

For sure - this is a game that is all about the story.

Thanks for your perspective. As for myself, I'm really enjoying it.
