After Arthas, one and only Lich King, the Legion was truly the real enemy left, the scourge of a 1000 worlds. I guess we can consider the Void Lords, but they’re like 5 years overdue already. Probably in the shelf in case of emergency.

The frustrating part is that Sylvanas was still salvageable at the end of legion. The betrayal of Varian is explainable, and the attempt at eternal life for herself and her people is an action that's at least understandable as well as keeping with her previous actions and desires. But no, we had to have Garrosh 2.5, and lost our war chief again. For the what, third?fourth time? I just couldn't care anymore after Legion, and part way into bfa. I loved WoW for years, but "In the end, death claims us all (including my love for the game)".
Danuser's writing in BFA was a direct spit in the face to the fans. He scorned the old fans to make way for something new, for new fans.. and delivered yet another spit in the face to the new fans. It's astonishing how he still works at Blizzard.
Sylvanas was always pure and utter evil, she was never salvagable. She had a slow and steady decline to become just like Arthas...and for that, she was good. Any idea of having a redemption arc was laughable. A tragic character that became a beast herself.
Archimonde at the end of this expansion was just kind of random. There was no buildup to him, and his summoning takes only a few seconds. It was a large effort to summon him in Reign of Chaos. Gul Dan should have been the final boss
There didn't need to be any "buildup" This was legion. We literally already saw all the named bosses come back in the beginning. Some twice. Hell here, we face EVERY hyjal boss except for the lich. The point was archimonde was one of the generals. That's all you need. Not everything needs an 8 episode buildup.

He destroyed dalaran like it was his plaything. He is the one of 2 most powerful eredar warlocks. Mannoroth was deathly afraid of him thats hoe powerful he is. It makes 0 sense that he is here.
Never got over losing Varian. Possibly the best king of the alliance and I think Metzen did a great job voicing him. What a way to start off the Legion expansion however! “Your father’s actions were indeed heroic. They were his challenge to us, his people. To never let fear prevail. Even at the very gates of hell.” Always and forever.

It doesn't matter if its a game, a project, or your career. Whatever it is whatever reason you become emotionally involved in things. That's a normal part of humanity, people like you need therapy to learn there's more than one way to live your life without always being an emotionless robot.

I mean BFA certainly had a lot of heartfelt moments but Legion felt like a true successor to Wrath and TBC in what I like to call “Warcraft 4”. But from start to finish Legion was a gem of an expansion. From the music, cinematics, raids, even pvp - all were fantastic, and met a lot of great people who returned after many years just to play Legion. A lot of great memories.
Gul'dan truly gave us a lot of lore, and his final moment was very fitting. Seeing most of my faves here (Vol'jin, Genn, Khadgar, Archimonde, Varian...) was expected, but even Liam? I still haven't recovered from the heartbreak.
And no liam in the shadowlands. That expansion and future ones should be a nightmare vision of n'zoth and we actually lost and we wake up soon and finish him.

What better way to start the expansion than with a trap to lure in both factions, and ends with the loss of both king and warchief. It’s such a devestating blow that truly sets the scene for what the Legion will do with Azeroth. I just think we killed Guldan and Kil’jaeden a bit too soon. Legion could’ve gone for 3-4 years. And Liam’s death still hits hard ever since Cata. And they’ve never done much with Tess aside from the heritage quest.
They did my man Vol'jin dirty, dude. Varian fell like a fucking hero and Vol'jin got killed by a random mob. As a troll player i will hate that forever.
A lot of people wouldn't understand the undeniable deep love that I had for WoW. 20 years of Metzen's legendary writing and work was pissed on by Steve Daunser...
Thanks for the support! The best part is this is only the intro to what I believe is the best gem of an expansion, we call Legion. So many heartfelt moments, so much loss, and honestly quite a lot of closure to Warcraft 3 events after WoTLK. Cinematic, VA, and story, raids, pvp all were so excellent. Ah memories.
If you didn’t know any better you’d think Archimond literally tripped and fell and then almost immediately died right after coming out the portal. The edit makes me chuckle
I’d say after Wrath it gets rocky. Cata was great but Dragon Soul felt a bit lackluster. MoP was a great faction conflict expansion but many people didn’t like the panda theme. WoD could’ve been the greatest expansion even with the weird plot line if only it didn’t get scrapped halfway through and rushed. Now Legion is the shining gem of an expansion and I guess is like the “true” ending in a way. I did enjoy BFA though.
I hate it that Varian died he was a great warrior and a great leader. I also hate it that Vol'jin is not remembered as well but he too was awesome and stood up to Garrosh when no one else would.
Wasn't so much standing up too him. He gave Garrosh death threats barely a day as warchief, it vol'jin fault why garrosh became paranoid in the first place. Thrall had to march over and slap him.
Still hard to belive that Archimonde was gone. People says that he died in the nether, however in cinematic he dies on Draenor... i understand that is hard to face him again but his story remained foggy. It might be good to see him with Sargeras once again.
When it comes to Varian's death, I can't help but mentally put a line from the movie in. When his father tells him to "Keep them safe." Goes right when he closes his eyes as Genn is calling his name.
I forgot how fucking awesome legion was. God damn. I know there was some controversy when it was out. But it was mostly well received if I remember correctly. Like new content dropping every 3 months or so, first m+, first wonky borrowed power that was never balanced, but most of them were fun as hell. Long class quests, class order halls, cool as shit weapon x mogs. Oh and the story was pretty tight too.
Blizzard rly needs to bring Varian back, if not as a living character then some form of ghost or spirit from the shadowlands. They had a huge opportunity to include him in Shadowlands but all he got was a vision in one of anduin's dreams. He was and always will be the best character this game has to offer.
I hated what they did to Archimonde, in WC3 he was a nearly unstoppable force until he was stopped by the sacrifice of the night elves, in legion he was demoted to being destroyed by a typical raid group.
@@mattj1829 IMO, Arthas was wasted, WotLK was a great expansion, but there was no real plan after, like it or not Arthas was Warcraft 3 and the Frozen Throne and a lot more popular than the main legion storyline, they could have created a new faction etc.

I played a little bit of WoW and checked some lore videos but they just seemed to be making constant blunders. I'd love a new RTS that covers the time after 3 and amends some of the story so it's not always "good guys win". When you can play as the opposing factions a lot more nuance can be had
A dream of mine to see Warcraft expand into a media series. A true trilogy on the big screen would be phenomenal using Warcraft’s strongest stories and characters. I guess a Netflix series would also work. But a lot of the cgi would need a hefty budget.

Expansions after legion were just more excuses to bash Sylvanas character and make her a villain. The arathas thing with his spirit is bullshit, his soul gets to vanish without repercusions but sylvanas gets punished for all the actions she did under his control and those actions she did after which was written as done under jailer's control, it's pure bullshit.
For me this was WoW's endgame. Everything revolved around the Legion. The nect hig threat is the void but im not sure how intact Blizzards vision is now. Microsoft gonna fuck it up
A military leader of Burning Legion (Archimonde) and his lieutenant (Mannoroth)... both missing the biggest invasion their army ever made in Legion because they met their ends in Warlords of Draenor? Only Gul'dan, Kil'jaeden and Sargeras were left to have their fun in the next expansion.
Legion was one of my favorite expansions. Haven't played wow since BFA first launched but like to keep up on it still and the cinematics are always awesome.👍👍
In its entirety, Legion is probably the best expansion, next to Wrath. So many great moments and storylines for the different races & classes. As an Undead player since 2007, it was fulfilling to see Sylvanas finally get her turn to be the leader of the Horde. Back when we still believed in her. Her speech at Vol'jin's funeral still hits very hard for Horde players, and that moment is only beaten by the opening cinematic for BFA. I dunno how much time passed or what transpired between the writing for the beginning of Legion and the writing & execution of the end of Legion, going into BFA; but they really, *really* pissed away all her potential as a character, and turned lots of players off of WoW from then on. Such a shame. I still really enjoyed BFA, and it's better than people want to admit it is. The weakest expansion is still prolly Cataclysm, but even that I enjoyed. All that aside, Legion remains my favorite expansion to date. I doubt they'll ever match it again.

No she always cared, she try to return too the alliance but they refused too listen and aim to kill them all which shoved her an her people too the horde.she aided in the removal of garrosh, she aim to avenge vol'jin, then new shitty writers came in and said nah all undead must be evil when she wasn't
The idea that the legion is somehow the same across alternate timelines is still one of the all time dumbest lore additions. Was Sargeras influencing millions of versions of Kil'Jaeden and Archimonde at the same time somehow and then they transcended time as well? But Velen didn't? You literally can't even begin to make sense of that
God dammit.... Legion could be a movie. The cutscenes in that expansion were AMAZING and Legion could of been the end of WoW and i think everyone would be happy for it.
not gonna lie, even if WoD wasnt the greatest expansion, the Hellfire Citadel ending with Archimonde being resummoned and with a polished model got me screaming in a girly voice
They really could have just had Varian die and the fact that the alliance's leader stayed and fought while the hordes retreated to survive could have been used to drive a wedge between the alliance and the horde instead of just the fact that they retreated.
@@Nathan-oe8ut I think I suggested this because that way Vol'jin wouldn't have to die but the scene would otherwise playout the same. Because having Vol'jin die immediately after he became war chief was lame. The scene itself alraedy drives a wedge between them since they retreat during the battle when Vol'jin is mortally wounded.
Legion is supposed to be endgame. Everything else other than sylvana(even tho her motivation went to shi) is just directly pulled out of nowhere with no previos set up. "Lets add afterlife." "We need more ? Lets add adterlife but oposite" "We need more? Lets add some goobers who sat underground and did nothing during ALL of the previos events" " and if we need more, lets retcon some shi" Im pretty sure old gods retcon is coming soon.
I used to like Warcraft universe and i think i still have a small spark in my heart for the francise.But capitalism consumes too much and ripped apart the lore.This is a good example of that decay, Look in WC3, we spent tough times and entire campaign just to summon the Archimonde and it was end of the world.Here it is like a regular thing and he is gone again.Sorry but i do care about lore and it must be consistent.

The dialogue is so badly written, but I can't really pay attention to it, because I constantly think that someone, without irony, thought that making Sylvanas, the elf, the head of the horde was a good idea for the plot. Someone allocated money for this. When you think you're incompetent, remember that somewhere there is this dude who approved this garbage.
I find this makes no sense now because the burning Legion has now been confirmed not to be a single demon force across all univereses but in many time lines. So archimonde sending Gul dan in to our timeliness and kiljaeden helping him open the portal in the tomb makes zero sense
WoD and Legion had a phenomenal soundtrack from start to finish. Just wish WoD matched the level of detail and effort the art and music team out into it.
I love the difference between Varian’s death and Vol’jinn’s. Vol’jinn just kinda gets stabbed, and then Varian has an emotional sendoff where he sacrifices himself after handing off a last letter to his son. They overused the Horde changing warchiefs to the point that it just didn’t really mean anything.
Say what you want, Sylvanus ran to save her own ass. She could care less about the Horde. She doomed the world to the Legion and laughed after they made her Warchief.
Are all these videos/cinematics in game? I feel i havent seen half of them or don't remember them😶 But i stopped playing half way through WoF, and started again in Legion, and stopped all together after Legion.. Is there a good eay i can see all the lore vids in the right order?

As a Horde Player I am sad that sylvanas has not died at the end of BfA and as a Alliance Player aswell I am sad that we didnt get Lordaeron back. Their Fan Fiction was so Bad written and made so less sense
As a Horde player didn't see any justice towards genn greymane for starting a war by assassination or Tyranda for killing unarm prisoners through blood sacrifice.

yeah, i did too since warcraft 3.. but the lore in most parts fell apart and is useless trash sadly, to this day.

Expansions after legion were just more excuses to bash Sylvanas character and make her a villain. The arathas thing with his spirit is bullshit, his soul gets to vanish without repercusions but sylvanas gets punished for all the actions she did under his control and those actions she did after which was written as done under jailer's control, it's pure bullshit.
For me this was WoW's endgame. Everything revolved around the Legion. The nect hig threat is the void but im not sure how intact Blizzards vision is now. Microsoft gonna fuck it up

A military leader of Burning Legion (Archimonde) and his lieutenant (Mannoroth)... both missing the biggest invasion their army ever made in Legion because they met their ends in Warlords of Draenor? Only Gul'dan, Kil'jaeden and Sargeras were left to have their fun in the next expansion.

Legion was one of my favorite expansions. Haven't played wow since BFA first launched but like to keep up on it still and the cinematics are always awesome.👍👍
In its entirety, Legion is probably the best expansion, next to Wrath. So many great moments and storylines for the different races & classes. As an Undead player since 2007, it was fulfilling to see Sylvanas finally get her turn to be the leader of the Horde. Back when we still believed in her. Her speech at Vol'jin's funeral still hits very hard for Horde players, and that moment is only beaten by the opening cinematic for BFA. I dunno how much time passed or what transpired between the writing for the beginning of Legion and the writing & execution of the end of Legion, going into BFA; but they really, *really* pissed away all her potential as a character, and turned lots of players off of WoW from then on. Such a shame. I still really enjoyed BFA, and it's better than people want to admit it is. The weakest expansion is still prolly Cataclysm, but even that I enjoyed.
All that aside, Legion remains my favorite expansion to date. I doubt they'll ever match it again.

No she always cared, she try to return too the alliance but they refused too listen and aim to kill them all which shoved her an her people too the horde.she aided in the removal of garrosh, she aim to avenge vol'jin, then new shitty writers came in and said nah all undead must be evil when she wasn't

The idea that the legion is somehow the same across alternate timelines is still one of the all time dumbest lore additions. Was Sargeras influencing millions of versions of Kil'Jaeden and Archimonde at the same time somehow and then they transcended time as well? But Velen didn't? You literally can't even begin to make sense of that
God dammit.... Legion could be a movie. The cutscenes in that expansion were AMAZING and Legion could of been the end of WoW and i think everyone would be happy for it.
not gonna lie, even if WoD wasnt the greatest expansion, the Hellfire Citadel ending with Archimonde being resummoned and with a polished model got me screaming in a girly voice
They really could have just had Varian die and the fact that the alliance's leader stayed and fought while the hordes retreated to survive could have been used to drive a wedge between the alliance and the horde instead of just the fact that they retreated.

@@Nathan-oe8ut I think I suggested this because that way Vol'jin wouldn't have to die but the scene would otherwise playout the same. Because having Vol'jin die immediately after he became war chief was lame. The scene itself alraedy drives a wedge between them since they retreat during the battle when Vol'jin is mortally wounded.
Legion is supposed to be endgame. Everything else other than sylvana(even tho her motivation went to shi) is just directly pulled out of nowhere with no previos set up.

I used to like Warcraft universe and i think i still have a small spark in my heart for the francise.But capitalism consumes too much and ripped apart the lore.This is a good example of that decay, Look in WC3, we spent tough times and entire campaign just to summon the Archimonde and it was end of the world.Here it is like a regular thing and he is gone again.Sorry but i do care about lore and it must be consistent.

The dialogue is so badly written, but I can't really pay attention to it, because I constantly think that someone, without irony, thought that making Sylvanas, the elf, the head of the horde was a good idea for the plot. Someone allocated money for this. When you think you're incompetent, remember that somewhere there is this dude who approved this garbage.

I find this makes no sense now because the burning Legion has now been confirmed not to be a single demon force across all univereses but in many time lines. So archimonde sending Gul dan in to our timeliness and kiljaeden helping him open the portal in the tomb makes zero sense

I love the difference between Varian’s death and Vol’jinn’s. Vol’jinn just kinda gets stabbed, and then Varian has an emotional sendoff where he sacrifices himself after handing off a last letter to his son.
They overused the Horde changing warchiefs to the point that it just didn’t really mean anything.

As a Horde Player I am sad that sylvanas has not died at the end of BfA and as a Alliance Player aswell I am sad that we didnt get Lordaeron back. Their Fan Fiction was so Bad written and made so less sense
As a Horde player didn't see any justice towards genn greymane for starting a war by assassination or Tyranda for killing unarm prisoners through blood sacrifice.

An absolute gem of an expansion. Cinematics, VA, epic moments, pvp, raids everything was fantastic from start to finish. Exists only in memories now.
