Amazin Faucet parts for the column just like the pull door knobs in the kitchen for ft.grill in the day, parts are parts ,whatever works..looks great buddy
Last year you did some work on the sedan, using the Trulers tapes. I ordered their getting started kit. Just fell in love with them. Made a bunch of 1" wide rules out of their selection. Ordering the style I like for some 16ga stainless I had sheared. Love the diamonds and arrowheads over skinny lines. Thanks, Mike! Nice column.
The rotary hand deburring tool is a must. However you can probably DYI one for free from scrap, that worn 10 inch 3 cornered file with the clogged teeth. With an angle grinder cut the front portion away leaving the large portion at the tang (about 2 lengths of the tang). Now slowly grind away the teeth on each flat while reducinng the cut off end to a point, go slowly as not to blue your 3 sided knife edges, use lots of water. The form of this end can be 3 tapers or 3 arcs. I hollow ground mine using the radius of the pedestal grinding wheel. Put a comfortable file handle over the tang and you have a sharpen able tool for any size hole or shape. CAUTION: It's start over if anything edge turns blue.
Hi Mike. Nice job . Where did you get the upper bell for the column. building a custom column for my model a and thats the piece I have been searching for . Glad your back, enjoy your videos. Thanks pal.
That was a piece of a cast aluminum flathead ford upper radiator hose. It had been cut in half when I got it and I modified that piece in my lathe to use as the oil fill. I had had it for a while sitting on a shelf… always figured I’d find a use for it.
Looks awesome. Nice job
Looks good Mike
Just like spending the afternoon with a friend in his shop. Thanks Mike for keeping the Human factor in your videos.
That means a lot. Thank you. I question it at times… but I know people appreciate the oversights, mistakes and problem solving.
🙏🏼
I try to bring in the Human factor into my videos...Just me and the camera. @@ThisOldHotrod

Cool video . I use a stainless hose clamp when I cut tubing and then use the edge of clamp as my cutting guide .
Mike, you're having too much fun.
That’s what I’m all about. 😁
Thanks for another , Brother !

most steering columns have a support bearing
it comes up through the top if you use a 2 leg internal puller it will come out easy

A job for a touch of araldite on the column shroud for the win
Very cool! I've done this before, still it is so entertaining with you Mike. Thanks for sharing with us.
I like it, I like it a lot! (Loyd Christmas) 😁✌
Yes the demurring tools are worth the $10-15! Column looks great!
Nice job. Looks great. How about drilling and taping for a small set screw on the bottom of the bell?
Try a little J.B. Weld on the cone, it,s perfect for such a job.
If you want the bell permanent JB WELD it inside the bell.
Very Nice job Mike
Looks great!! Nice job!!!
Skee-Lo!
Your starting the New Year right! Working on Hot Rods! Cheers!

In the plumbing section at Home Depot.
Thats brilliant ! A pipe escutcheon ! you are the man !! Never would have thought.
Should you have put some red locktight on the bearing so it didn’t walk down the tube and make that nut adapter loose? Keep it up love you videos.
I don’t think it’s moving. I hit it in there pretty good.
I only have a 20 ton press, I guess I’m screwed😂
Hahah. Gonna need a bigger hammer
Great idea. By the way, what was that ribbed tubbing you used for your oil filler please
