I need to hear this right now. My aunt has Dementia . And she took care of me my whole life.
Love you Joni for your honesty. I've been diagnosed with chronic depression and have had this diagnoses for a long time now. I have chronic physical pain, too. I think that physical pain brings about depression. But since I've come to have a good relationship with my maker and savior Jesus Christ there is joy always mingled with my sorrow, too. I didn't have this relationship most of my life, I came upon it late in life but I have come upon it and it has made all the difference in my life. Thank you for sharing your joy thru your sorrow with us.

I have been living with quite severe chronic pain for 21 years. It's not a fun life. I understand what you mean when you talk about it causing an inner sorrow. I don't think I would change anything though, because it slowed me down and maybe even saved my life, and for that, I am grateful. Thank you for your videos. ❤

Oh Amen Joni! A joy that's difficult to describe. The suffering that only Jesus can bring joy out of. It is a privilege to suffer with Him knowing He sees and feels my pain, hears my distress with deep empathy and holds my best interest in His Hands at all times!

Thank you for explaining this. I thought that one couldn't be if the other exists because it shows a lack of faith in Jesus. I have faith in Him but also inside, my heart seems always heavy.
Oh Joni! I love to listen to you. I pray often for your pain to ease up especially when I suspect it's your sleeping hours. Right now I'm in a hotel on my way back from dropping my daughter off at her dad's where she'd prefer to live. Partly because my home smells a lot from my incontinent bladder. And partly because her dad will call her Ethan which she has decided she wants to be called. I have never felt so alone. Hopeless. Very overweight. Diabetes. Arthritis of the knee. Pain. Hardly any stamina. Is that pathetic enough for a 55 year old? So I'm glued to this message. I have sorrowful down. Yet always rejoicing? I can rejoice. I have many blessings I can count. But combining my recent sorrow with rejoicing while I have contemplated dying? You explained amazingly well the benefits you have received by pushing up against Jesus. I haven't tried that very much yet. So I'll try. But I'm left wondering if the command to be sorrowful yet always rejoicing means we have to pretend before others?
