    In case it's not obvious, I really love my MacBook Pro! They have been so far ahead of the game when it comes to portable power/battery life for laptops since 2020 when the M1's came out. I have gushed about them in many other videos which you can watch here: ruclips.net/p/PL-LtJzG3km4szpyrt4fJHJuHoEd3XZBZE&si=3yiEUneRpkttCDsC
    In case you missed my original video where I switched from Windows to Apple, check that out here: ruclips.net/video/TZgfFGWToOk/видео.html
    Also If there are any other things I missed in the video please share in the comments below... it's always fun to chat about. Thanks for watching! 👊

    This is really interesting! As a Mac user for my entire life, it kind of felt like this when I switched over to Windows for the first time. 😂 Not completely, but it was kind of like that for me too. I think Apple people are just so used to this that we just put up with it naturally. lol
    The thing that interested me most was when you mentioned how you don't like the full-screen green button on the top left and how it felt like it didn't go full screen all the way. This was really interesting to listen to. I'm subscribing and binge-watching all your videos now. 😂❤ Thank you.

      I've been using it for 8 months and I'm STILL not used to so much. Overall though it's great.

    I think a lot of this just takes getting used to. I can't explain exactly why I like Mac better than PC after making the switch, but I prefer using my Macbook over my gaming PC now. It has also taken me longer to adjust to when I switch back and forth between PC and Mac. Another thing I have observed is that Mac takes more personalization to make it "almost" perfect for me, which is great except for times when I need to use a Mac that isn't mine. Windows has become so much easier for switching between different PCs--the transition is usually seamless. I actually hate when I have to use a Mac other than my own, but I love my personalized Macbook.
    All of the annoyances you've listed have been things I've dealt with too. Great video

      Thanks for the comment... and good point about the switching between machines. I struggle with this. In my video editing software for example, it's great to make personalized shortcuts to speed up the workflow. But if I ever get put in an environment where I have to use someone else's I'd be screwed. I'm really trying to learn all the shortcuts the way they are and it's frustrating. There are even little things I didn't mentioned (like how the Delete key doesn't delete files in finder) but like you said, I am assuming that's just me not used to things yet. I'm battling a LIFETIME of habits from Windows so... I'm trying to be patient. I do enjoy use the Mac though. Never thought I'd be here!

    Come back to the Windows side. Less costly, adjustable SSD, better short cut keys, better app scaling than rectangle, and a large community to help with issues.

    • @TheSAHDLife
      @TheSAHDLife  7 месяцев назад +4

      Haha you make a strong case! The video editing capability and battery life is just SO good it's the only reason I'm here... those new Snapdragon laptops might be interesting though. If they can come close to the efficiency AND you can slap a video card on there I might have to be switching again lol.

      @@tomnoreilde8032 It'll be really interesting to see what happens. I can't wait! When I researched it it seems like the TSMC chips are just so far ahead of everyone else and Apple was buying up all their newest stuff BUT it seems like AMD is getting the leftover stock which might be pretty decent. What I didn't find out on my research was where Snapdragon fits in and exactly how competitive they are.

    I went through many of the same challenges when I transitioned to macOS but that was several years ago and the challenges now are, at worst, minor annoyances. I was using shortcuts before I made the move but I did have to adjust from ctl-C to cmd-C to copy (for instance) and then have to remember which is which when I'm on my work laptop (a Dell). It's second nature now.
    I've shared before that I went with a refurbished M1 Pro MBP 14 and I've never regretted it, the M1 chip is still a beast, so I think you made a wise choice.

    • @TheSAHDLife
      @TheSAHDLife  7 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks! You know, since Apple doesn't necessarily stick with traditional aspect ratios it allows them to make their laptops taller. A 13" Windows laptop for example, I always found way too small... but since switching to the MacBooks, I have a new appreciation for both the sizes. And I think that laptop you have is a solid choice. Heck, I bet the new 14" M3 Air's will be absolute bangers for most people. I'm not going to lie, I kind of want one 😎 but yeah, it hasn't been a perfect transition switching over. Those new Snapdragon laptops coming out soon will be interesting... because if you can get similar nm size CPU's in laptops with graphics cards in there... ohhh boy.

      @@TheSAHDLife I completely forgot to mention the one difference that was the most annoying to me at first (I must have gotten used to it): When I click on the X in the upper RIGHT corner of a Windows application it is closed completely, but when I click the X in the upper LEFT corner of a macOS application the app closes to the Dock but hasn't quit. That requires an extra step. If anybody could tell me why Apple chose to manage apps this way I would be very grateful.

      @TheSAHDLife  7 месяцев назад +1

      YES this. I didn't mention it in the video either but I have to quit (FORCE quit) battle-net every day whereas on Windows it just runs flawlessly in the background with zero issues ever. @@bryans8656
