I have had my cameo 3 for 2 years now...sitting in its box collecting dust as I felt too overwhelmed and didn’t even know where to begin. Today I got it out of the box and your video really helped me understand what everything was since I know ZERO about the machine. Thank you!

Your video was so very informative. I just received the Cameo 3 for Christmas and the directions online were not very good and I'm very computer literate. I can't decide if it's worth buying one for all the hassle there seems to be learning to use it - or just order stencils instead?!

I'm glad you liked it. I don't recommend using a cutting machine to cut the petals of paper flowers, the main reason being that is too time-consuming, however, it's great to cut flowers centers or leaves. ruclips.net/video/_J-Lo_PRpq8/видео.html

If you are using the auto blade, the machine is going to make the adjustments automatically based on the material you're using, if you're using another blade you need to adjust them manually as I showed in the video with the deep cut blade.
I’m new to this and trying to decide between Silhouette and Cricut. Any recommendations? I will be doing more like vinyl for yeti cups and decorating baskets . Thanks for any help

But i have one question , which blade you are using for the card-stock paper ?
Hi, for paper, regular and medium cardstock, you can use the auto blade; for heavyweight cardstock, you should use the deep cut blade.

Hi Kelly, I can only talk about Cricut and Cameo because I haven't used Curio. Both machines are great, in the end, it's all about preference. If you're a novice probably you'll like Cricut more, if you have experience using design programs, you'll like Cameo more. The problem I have is that I need specialized fonts. I’ve got the designer edition. While it’s supposed to use any font, it doesn’t. It seems that random fonts either are recognized, or not recognized by it. I can’t figure out why. I have thousands of fonts by recognized font houses that I’ve paid for over the years, and they work in Indesign as well as my other software, but often, not on this, even if it shows up in the software! Obviously there are bugs in it.

Before I buy the machine could you please let me know what is the longest part I can cut? What is the width and length limits?
Hi, if you are cutting with a mat the max length will be 24". However if you are using a material that has a backing like vinyl you can cut a roll up to 10 feet long.
So there's no way that I can make a custom silhouette on Adobe Illustrator and upload it to The Cameo Software? I can only use the files that they provide?
No, You can use illustrator to create your own projects, but you'll need to upgrade your software to the designer edition if you want to use SVG files.
Curious in your opinion is cricket or silhouette better. They both have different models and its hard for me to know which one is better , what models ,...etc aren't they all able to cut and do the same things with mostly all the materials ?

Hi, this is the now and older generation, Cameo4 is out, you can check my video about. When using vinyl you can cut 12"wide and up to 10' feet long. You can use your own images if they are compatible with Silhouette Studio. They are different set that you can buy. The box of Cameo doesn't come with material. Check my video about Cameo4.

Yes, you can use it to cut sublimation prints.

Hi, the main difference with a die-cut, it's time it'll take you to complete a project. Keep in mind, the more intricate the design, the more time you're going to spend if you use a cutting machine. If your business is card making a laser cutter or a die-cut, it's probably a better choice.

One this about Silhoutte that I didn't like is that it has so many different sites or places you need to go to get info. Subscriptions to this and that... Can you import a file from another program ..for example..to make vinyl stickers? Is the cameo capable of producing large quantities? How often do you need to change the blades?
Hi, yes, you can import file from other programs. Check on Silhouette website the type of the file that they support. The life span of the blade depends on the amount of project you make. If you're planning to make a lot of decals protect I recommend investing in a roller feeder for Cameo 3.
I'm an Asian country if I have the machine, can I use it without any issues?
Is it possible to create some kind of a fold line with it? So we can easily fold the paper after we cut it.
Yes, even though Cameo doesn't have a scoring tool you can create a new material and use the autoblade o premium blade. The pressure should be minimal so the blade doesn't cut the paper.

you can copy and paste to your desktop, open or insert into the workspace, then use the trace tool

Hello, I want to open my own little Online-Shop with handmade Stationery. for example Stickers (on a Stickersheet and also Stickerflakes), but also letter writing sets ore envelopes with graphics on it. Hello, where is the rhinestone effect? the one where you can cut out a template for it. As in making the design on silhouette studios into rhinestone design. i can’t find the tool on the right side... ??
Hi, if I don't mistake you need to upgrade your software to the design or business editing. The Basic Edition doesn't include that tool.

I have used my cameo 2 for about 9 uears. My computer was recently updated to Windows 10 and now I cannot use my cameo because it is no longer compatable with my computer. My son tried the workaround suggestions made by Silhouette America and they did not work. My question is...is the cameo 3 compatable with Windows 3\\ 10? I cannot afford to bry the cameo 4 as I am retired and on a very limited income. Please help me!
Hi, Silhouette Studio, which is the software needed for Cameo 3 and above, is compatible with Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10. So if you've recently upgraded to Windows 10, you should be okay with a Cameo 3.

The guides that suppose to guide your mat doesn’t seem wide enough. The mat sits on top of the guides so how does it help to guide mat?
