It's super fun to watch miki and kevin go through the same steps of life I just went through. 30k for a wedding in the bay is super cheap; Food itself is like 20.
Depends. My wedding was 30k. Food was 4k. Included 2 passes apps, salad, 2 entrees (chicken and beef), 3 sides, rolls, tea, water, all the staff, silverware, plates, cups. 98 people. In Florida
@@MHSMagicLuver This is why I clarified *in the bay (area)* 4k would barely cover staff and gratitude for an external caterer here. Of course there are cheaper options if you choose a catering included with the venue, buffet style, etc.
Absolutely agree with Kevin, weddings birthdays and anything like that are valuable cuz of people around not only the "main character", as you probably will spend way more time with guy next to uou at the dinner table rather then with bride or groom. And this reunion is very special
hi kevin and miki! i'm also planning my wedding right now for summer 2024. highly recommend having a wedding planner! my venue is in LA and we're budgeting $55k which is on the low(er) end because we're cutting back on a lot of things. our venue is also just the venue, so we have to source all our vendors by ourselves. depending on guest count, i'd say the average wedding costs about $50k-75k here in LA. a wedding in hawaii sounds absolutely amazing though! can't wait to follow you all on your wedding planning journey! 💜😍
Open bar at weddings is usually expected. For our wedding we bought the alcohol from Costco & Total Wine and just hired the bar tender to make the drinks, but provided the beverages. It was awesome, very cost effective for an "open bar" type experience and the guests all seemed to really enjoy it :) have fuuuun!
I got married in April. I feel like having an open bar is the norm. It’s okay to not but if you don’t or say you have a cash bar I would definitely make sure it’s on the website and/or invite. So people know. Same with people who don’t serve a meal at the wedding. Let them know ahead of time. Our wedding was 30k. I loved it. We had 98 people. And it was all paid by my husband and I. I do believe the average American wedding is about 30k that’s why we went with that number.
My husband and I attended a wedding in Hawaii. The views were amazing!!!! It was super small and intimate. The couple had the bar open before dinner/during reception. Everyone was there for a whole week. Before the wedding everyone did their own thing. After the wedding everyone spent most of the time relaxing and hanging out together.
Speaking from a mom of 2 babies under age of 3. One day when you have a baby, maybe you drop this mindset that is so against infants at your wedding. You know what, if someone is WILLING to show up at your wedding to celebrate your life with an infant, you should be appreciative and thankful! It takes a lot of effort and commitment to bring a baby out.
No children I think makes it less stressful for everyone. Small inconvenience for parents, but overall increase satisfaction and happiness of bride/groom and other guests
pls vlog your wedding planning journey! Although i wont be having a wedding myself even though I’d love to dress up in a beautiful dress my boyfriend and I (i just call him my husband because we have a baby together) can’t justify spending so much money on a wedding
I don't think it's an issue that the MOH gets pregnant, but baby's needs a lot of attention. It's not fair to the bride or the baby when your trying to take wedding day pictures / MOH duties and the baby needs to be fed or a diaper change. When you have been a mom and have dealt with swollen breasts, clogged milk ducts, nursing friendly clothes, puke, explosive poops, and lack of sleep you'll understand how hard it is to give attention to the bride and your child. As long as the bride and MOH can reach an agreement for what works for both parties, all is good.
