Piece of advise. If you yourselves are paying for your wedding, YOUR WEDDING, YOUR RULES! Parents will want to kaypoh add in this and that and invite people they want and disregard people you want to invite. They want to order ridiculously more food etc. And then blew your budget. Yes im referring to malay weddings. Be prepared. Been there done that.
20k - 30k seems the average. ouch. i rather spend that on travel. mine was about $2000 as we just reserved 40 seats at a hotel buffet. we only invited close relatives and the buffet was perfect as people could eat whatever cuisine they wanted.
Wedding banquets cost at least 2k per table these days, 20 tables thats 40k. wedding photographer? wedding gown rental? engagement rings? Weddings are easily 50k these days. i dont think this video gives a good guage of the cost of weddings in Singapore. but the general message is right, spend within your means!
Well with the going rate of $300 average per ang pow from guests according to Ghib Obisan's vlog, the guy who had 60 tables with 5 pax would still recoup back cost of his wedding (assume 4 people to a family).
i dont understand, how do yall "exceed budget" and then "break even from the ang bao". Net out of pocket is $0 what, unless these people were expecting to EARN from their wedding??!!
We need to give our child a happy family. We need to give our child a nice home. We pampered our daughter and she grew up happily. She is very adorable, sensible and filial.
Sorry, I don't understand why some of these Chinese couples are hoping to receive red packet money from their guests to fund their wedding. If the married couple cannot afford to pay for the food for their guests, they shouldn't be marrying in the first place. I truly detest the "transactional" approach of the toxic Chinese culture.
Not surprising if you are invited to weddings, and the host will hint the amount of the cost of 1 banquet table 😅 Hint: give more angbao $ to break even or cover the cost 😂
Do you think weddings are expensive in Singapore?
keep jia yang as your host in the future please, very well spoken and raises the quality of TSL videos
Finally a very good bilingual speaking host. 😊
Yessss. Not the act don't know how to speak proper mandarin but their home language is mandarin vibe. 😂
This ahgua?

Thank you Jia Yang it's been a joy watching you host these videos!!
one of your better Hosts. Smooth in delivery. clear and to the point
50k can get you a comfortable Europe tour or a modest renovation of your BTO. Spending it on one night is really dumb financial decision.
Advice for wedding couples would be to spend it on a good wedding emcee like this host that will liven your whole atmosphere 🎉🎉🎉

Exactly!
The most unexpected cost in the wedding is the pinjin, guodali, and the photo/videographer

I really like this host. He reminds me of Desmond Koh

how much u paid total and how much u received in angbao is two different things
how old are yo'rd ?
My new favourite host !❤

This is a very down to earth wedding budget. Give me an idea we can do it under $30,000 and use the money for down payment & honeymoon.
Actually a smaller scale wedding at a restaurant is still manageable cost wise
Why is "breaking even" imp?? What about ppl who can't afford the ang pao??
The invite can always be declined.
Lol I think I'm delulu... I wanted 100-200k wedding 😂
The fact you said ‘delulu’ and 100k plus… I wouldn’t worry thinking about it, just buy a few more cats.
@@mattsammi4143 on my way to buying more dogs instead.
@@mattsammi4143 don't worry, I'm a guy 😂
Weddings are so boomer. You pay so much to show others. New generation weddings go overseas and do not host it
Host ask advice on planning for marriage but people keep answering advice on marriage.

Look like Jurong East
"break even" in wedding is ridiculously stupid and entitled. like don't expect people to fund your wedding?
