Wedding if about the couple celebrating their matrimony. Is up to the couple to decide how grand they want it. Tradition is on the respect to elders. Plan in accordance to your planned budget. Remember after this is home planning. Don’t put too much pressure, just plan within your budget.

Great discussion, very well balanced views! You're right that most couples break even or almost cover their wedding banquet, some even made profits from the red packets. But they always tell people that they spent $200K on wedding banquet but never mentioned about the red packets they received. Such dishonesty is a bad start for the couple.

Agreed that wedding cannot be 100% on every aspect , my husband and I also prioritise on what we wanna spent on which is
food, wedding venue,photography
,Outfits& makeup and most importantly within your budget!
