    First of all, excellent video! You have a very good kit! For me, the KAAOS series is the most versatile and the richest sound, and the aspect is spectacular; but please do not replace this Zildjian oriental china, I love this cymbal, I have one myself and there is no china to compare with. Thanks for sharing. Hug from Portugal!

      Cheers mate! It's a nice thrashy and fast reacting cymbal the Zildjian Oriental China indeed, have had it for maybe 15 years...atm this one is pretty much a beat up one, still sounds good even though pretty much trashed xD So will see what to do about it. Might be time a for a bit "dryer" toned one....if you got recommendations, I'm up for checking =)

      @@JarkkoLunnas For me, a china has to be thrashy and have a fast reaction as you mentioned, that is, have a strong and explosive attack but disappear quickly, just like with Zildjian Oriental China. Those you are testing, have the sound / tone quite similar to each other, but they all end up being very "noisy" for my preference.
      This is just my opinion...
      By the way, I don't know if you are having some kind of "sponsorship" by SIHI, but take a look at the Groove Cymbals, it is a Portuguese brand of traditional cymbals made in Turkey: groovecymbals.com/.

    Been very pleased with my Sihi cymbals. Such a great sounding and versatile cymbals! Would recommend checking them out🤙🏻

    This was a good comparison. It is easy to hear difference between the cymbals. I prefer to Kaaos series, they have controlled and rich high end. Kaski ride sounds nice also. I have been thinking to purchase Sihi cymbals and this helps with decision. BTW. Very pro looking/sounding and visually great videos!

    Beautifull Kaoss Ride! however the SYSi cymbals are more jazzy , so in this context of playing a lot of dynamics are better in a jazz type of playing. Hopefully there will be another vid upload containing another musical style. All in all great cymbals!

    Damn, such hard choices! For me I think the most balanced set would be the Kaski hihats, Kaaos crashes, the old Paiste ride and finally the Sysi China.

      Hahah, tell me about! Good take on this man, and very true that the Sysi china really stands out for its benefit! And the gddamn Paiste mystery ride, came with my first drumset (20+ years ago) 😅 Do I ever get rid of it...🤔

      @@JarkkoLunnas You really need to try the Paiste 2002 24" ride. Best bell sound I've heard, and such an amazing ride.

  • @jannevaatainen
    @jannevaatainen 3 года назад

    The Paiste ridecould be a 3000 series ride. Is the Paiste logo on the bottom of the cymbal red? Does the lathing have this "twirling" (aalto) pattern, like the signatures have?

    • @JarkkoLunnas
      @JarkkoLunnas  3 года назад

      Correct, and yeah the logo below was red when it still was visible. We narrowed it down here at this comment section with detail intel provided by Luca Borgonovo, see his comment, and even weighted it down to a gram to figure it out to be Paiste 3000 Reflector Ride 👌

    If you're sure the ride is a x000 series piece it's most likely a 3000 power ride.
    To narrow it down, what's the serial number?

    • @JarkkoLunnas
      @JarkkoLunnas  4 года назад

      Hey man! A good guess! I think the x000 series came out as a guess at some point because of the looks or something :D I think I'd love it to be 3000 power ride, but the 3000 power ride's bell looks a bit larger than in that ride of mine. Otherwise the looks are very matching! Will check on the serial and get back to this!

    • @JarkkoLunnas
      @JarkkoLunnas  4 года назад

      Alright, the serial (or, the only number engraved in the cymbal) is 036409. Can you make something out of that from somewhere? Starting to be pretty sure it's either Paiste 3000 Power Ride or Paiste 3000 Heavy Ride - and I guess from the 80's? Got any validation? =)

    • @JarkkoLunnas
      @JarkkoLunnas  4 года назад

      Ok, stop the press! Just found a demo of Paiste 3000 Reflector Ride...I think we might have the exact match: ruclips.net/video/JGviwtU_dlc/видео.html But sure wouldn't mind the validation =)

    • @BorgoDrums

      @@JarkkoLunnas If there's a "PAISTE" or "pAisTe" stamp over the SN then the cymbal was made in 1990, and if there's no other stamp around the SN it's from 1980.
      If the weight is around 2250g it's most likely a Reflector Ride, around 2430g a normal finish Ride, around 2760g a Reflector Power ride, and around 2860g a normal finish Power Ride or Heavy ride.
      Paiste has always been quite consistent with weights, so if the weight is off by 100g it's probably from another series, like a 505 heavy.

    • @JarkkoLunnas
      @JarkkoLunnas  4 года назад

      @@BorgoDrums The engraved number is below an engraved "PAISTE" text. I guess I'll weigh it tomorrow and we'll lock the final answer, maybe :D
