Thanks for a very helpful tutorial. As a long time 28mm painter I’m looking at doing ancients in 15mm and ECW in Epic Scale.
No worries really glad it’s been of help. 15mm is a great scale to get into let us know how you get on. 👍
I will try this but I'll change the blue shields for red ones and I'll change the trousers for something more brownish. Amazing tutorial! Thanks
Not a problem. Really glad you have found it helpful 😀👌
You are quite talented Johnny, very impressive.
Thank you for the kind comment :)
Another great painting video Johnny. Lots of great tips displayed.
Ahh cheers mate
Thanks Jonny! I've been looking forward to more 15mm ancient tutorials
No worries. Extremely simple but that’s all it needs to be for 15mm in my opinion
@@JonnyWatsonGaming Yea I definitely think I need to take a different approach to 28mm. How have you been finding the mould lines and flash?
@@IAMTORQUATUS on these PSC models they do have a few mould lines but do come off with a sharp knife. Although i must admit on these guys I didnt go to town to make sure they were spotless, just want them painted and on the table asap :)
Those turned out great.
Yeah not too shabby for a quick job
Nice work Jonny. They look great. 👍
Cheers mate 😀
Nice work mate, good little guide
Cheers Leon mate
Effective and very nice painting!
Simple but it’s quick 😀
Nicely done. For Rome!
Haha Cheers
Great video Jonny!
Thanks Carl. When you doing another vid?
Lovely work Jonny, I used to collect a loot of 15mm but my old eyes really struggle now, all the best, Garry
Haha cheers Garry
I stopped my self from adding the old joke about speed painting ;) nice finish..
Hahaha Cheers mate
Good stuff :)
Cheers mate
Very nice work mate.
Thank you
Great tutorial and will really help me as I start to paint my MEG Romans. One question, do you undercoat first? Thanks
Yes I undercoat with a grey primer. However the Plastic Soldier Company say you don't have to prime these models. But I guess I'm old school and do it anyway. Either way I think you will get the same results. Really glad you have found this useful :)
@@JonnyWatsonGaming thanks :), I will give grey primer a go for them when they arrive next week. Out of habit I have been using black primer after getting back in to the hobby after a 6 year break.
@@aledroberts6580 Black it fine to use but will make everything look darker and takes longer to work with as you will need more coats to get an opaque colour
@@JonnyWatsonGaming thanks and I have ordered some grey premier to try along with my first batch of PSC Romans for my MeG army :)
@@aledroberts6580 Good stuff, let me know how you get on with the grey primer, if you like it etc.
Did you prime them and if so, with what primer?
Yes I did and it was Halfords grey primer spray can
I fear painting my 20mm germans lol Nice efficient spped painting on sprues, learned something today.
That’s great 😃 yeah these PSC sprues really lend themselves to speed painting
How do you think the PSC compare to Xyston miniatures ?
In all honesty iv never had Xyston minis. However looking at them on line the Xyston minis look much more detailed. The PSC minis suffer from some bad mould lines so if the Xyston minis are cleaner I would stick with them. Regarding size comparison I’m afraid I can’t help as not seen Xyston minis in real life. 😀
Would you have prefer 28mm if you were do Romans again?
@@BearGrisham I don’t think so. I’m enjoying smaller scale gaming more and more.
Great video! Can anyone recommend good Vallejo browns for horses? Ta!
Thank you really glad you enjoyed it. I was using Beasty Brown in this vid, one of my favourite browns out there. Try leather Brown that is a darker brown if you want a darker looking horse.
Looking at about 100 3d printed cav to paint for my meg army. Not looking forward to it. Then about 100 legionnaires to do as well...
Lol 😂 yeah it can be a daunting task. Just crack a few stands out, seeing you progress will motivate you to get it all done in good time 👌
