Well how long had the shoes been on? 8 weeks, 12 weeks? Quite a bit of growth but almost no wear on the shoe you took off. Is this horse an expensive garden ornament?
From the amount of growth I’d say 6-8 weeks. There is definitely some wear on the old shoes, but nothing crazy. Could be a hose that doesn’t see a lot of rocky trails or asphalt. With the shoes having quarter clips, it may be a competition horse that doesn’t see anything other than arenas, stalls and pastures.
What was the sore just above the hoof. Look like road rash. Could tell the horse was uncomfortable when you had his hoof behind him working the bottom of the hoof he kept moving around. Just wondering.
