This is already the best looking sim out of the box and I love the constant improvements. I own almost every sim and this one is my most played but I really hope we get a proper career mode
Why career mode when you already has the most customizable tournament mode ever? I can play a whole season however I like in AMS2. I really don't understand this need of a career mode.
@@lgquelhas because a career mode has more personalized progression, which makes a lot of people feel more invested. Just another option to racing that adds some depth. The championship mode is great on AMS 2 with a customizable season, but that’s not the same as a career mode where you have to challenge yourself by working your way up. If you don’t get it, that’s fine but there’s a lot of us that enjoy a good career mode. That’s basically what I racing is, starting at the bottom working your way up earning different licenses. But Instead of doing it for online races you’re doing it against the AI.
Water would not be accumulating on the windscreen at these speeds, it would instantly be blown off. It looks like the rain effect on the screen is just static
Your right. The rain effect on the windscreen of the cars in EA/Codemasters F1 24 is much better. The fact that the rest of the car and track physics are shite compared to AMS2 clearly does not matter 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rain is definitely an improvement! The only weird aspect I find is with the big difference in drop size between the falling rain and the one on the visor, looking mostly like microdrops.
I used to say that iRacing was the king of realistic look and feel, despite not having all of the latest bells and whistles, but this is pretty spot on. It looks very, very nice! 🤩
@@alcrack3996 Maybe, I mean I could tell that AC felt better than AMS2 on my G920 just because of how the cars handle beyond the limit I just get more feedback on my Forte but the under lying car handling is the same regardless.
Your water and rain simulation is the best in all racing games so far. I've always been a big fan of the rain simulation in gp4, with dry patches, puddles and driveability. You were the first to get this right and make it look realistic. I miss the spray in AMS in the onboard view. If you now implement a damage model like iRacing, but also with destructible barriers, then you'll be very close to perfectionism for me.
I'm excited for everything coming. And the guys are doing an amazing job. A big part of me wishes we got the tyre/brake update before everything else rather than all together... They wait I'm sure is worth it but agonising 😂😂😂
The rain tire model looks like off-road racing tires, visually it doesn't fit, especially formula cars, where the wheels are exposed... These details make a difference, even for those looking for immersion... Here is my feedback as a player.
I cant imagine how it looks at vr while raining like that! Last race at my channel was rainy and even with old rain effects it feels amazing... Cant wait to try with VR and make some content😅
This is becoming my favourite sim and I can't wait to play it in LFM soon! With it coming to LFM, will the accidents be logged through the UDP or shared memory file now? I'm trying to make an AI commentator and having trouble getting it to work currently with AMS2 due to not getting all the data.
I love the dedication of this game studio, but please can you make the rain effects on Windshield more realistic like Assetto Corsa rain effects mod, that is currently the best one on the planet nd modders created that, other Game studio never got this right or tried to make it realistic. Please consider this, make it as good as Assetto Corsa rain effects mod or better, rain really adds immersion to racing, especially in cockpit view. God Bless you, Reiza !
I really do think AMS 2 is currently the best racing sim. AC is my absolute favourite because I like the different tracks and roaming and all the different stuff the modding gives you, but if I really want to race against AI on the normal circuits AMS 2 is my choice. I also really like the way the developers have just kept working and working at it and improving it all the time.
so the water spray is not even adapted to the wind direction and force? There are so many rainy details and feature GT7 does since the begining (wet tracks, muddy track-side, pooling water, water spray with correlated wind direction/force), dynamic weather with different sort of clouds type : stratus and stratocumulus, altocumulus and altostratus , it all brings the random scenario to get the rain in part of the track but not all over the track, but could also move and stand all over the track. Anyway, AMS2 sound a nice game and looking forward to upgrade my PC before buyng AMS2.
Super excited about the physics changes here. BUT I have to say I'm disappointed you haven't bridged the gap on the rain visuals hitting the windscreen. It still looks like snowflakes or ice hitting the windshield rather than running water. Is this just a limitation of your graphics engine you can't bring us iRacing style water visuals on windshields?
@@seangray4512 I hate so many things about iRacing. (Tire model, Sound, NetCode), but the rain visuals is not one of them. I just want to see AMS2 match them there.
That is a valid observation, I don't get the hate you're getting just cause you like iRacing (and this from someone that would never touch it). Of course this is a minor effect that I suppose could be added later on as the developers find the time. After all they do have their hands full with bigger priorities like physics and this whole new weather effect that looks damn realistic and is no easy feat. Parabens Reiza, you are doing an incredible job. If there are plans to improve on such eye candy effects down the road it may not be a bad idea to let us know, so that you don't get knic-picked to death over small things. Overall I'm really impressed with these new videos and the ambitious progress you guys undertook. Things take time to implement and you're proving to be up to the task, never resting, always improving this already fantastic game.
Are you saying finally we can drive in rain while seeing sunlight through the cloud? Normally, whenever you set to rain, you get this gloomy cast with no light. I always want to drive in a condition where there is actually some light because you can actually see rain drop when there is light. You can do it with light rain and it looks okay but with rain or heavy rain, forget it.
I had the same question. If they'll stick to normal "dry" line, they will be either very slow (if the rubbered line will be slippery for them as well) or way too fast (if they are unaffected by the rubbered line).
@@las10plagas In my experience they are. They show the same pace as me in stable light to moderate rain conditions when the track is wet but there're no big puddles. Big puddles or slicks on wet track are a different story and is indeed a huge problem, the AIs are not affected by puddles at all, and, as it seems, they have no problems to warm up slicks on the wet surface, so if my tyres are cold they just effortlessly lap 5-10 sec faster than me while I struggle to keep the car on track. If that issue hasn't been addressed, AI will still be useless for me, the weather system is one of the strongest points of AMS2 I don't wont to race with fixed weather.
It looks great, but will AI start being affected by weather or will they continue to drive around a wet track as if it were dry and they are on slicks?
