Beautiful work. I love the variety! So inspiring. Hard to pick a favorite page, but I do love the studio painting at the beginning, the figure and face drawings were fun and the fruit in a white basket plus the collage pages at the end were pretty awesome, too. Just wonderful.

I just found your channel with a need to fill my new sketchbook. I'm not even that good at drawing but your works are just incredible. I find it so hard to search for inspiration or what to draw and your art work is giving me so many ideas and yeahhh thanks for these videos!!!
The thing I hate about these sketchbook tours is I wind up spending all my time watching, pausing the video to make a screenshot to get ideas that I wind up storing and never using because I'm stuck watching and not working to teach this stuff to myself! Jess, you are a step way above the rest. I absolutely love your work and am in awe of how you use color and how you throw the colors off like in the animal study that you turned into stickers. I have a Husky and the dog picture (that could be a Shiba Inu or some other dog like that) in that series has such a cool color palate. Your work is so fun and it's so hard to set the phone down to pick up my sketchbook. I need to learn that I can just tape or glue different paper into my book instead of switching sketchbooks every time I have a different medium I'm doing 🤔. I think this is the 4th time or more I have watched this video. The 100 eyes challenge was awesome, I especially love the rainbow eyes with the limited color palate for each one. You teach me so much but I need to get past my fear of the paintbrush (a totally foreign tool in my belt so to speak). I have swatched some gouache before and I absolutely love how smooth and opaque it is. Watercolor freaks me out big-time. I have to remember my sketchbook is not a grenade that will detonate with the touch of a brush or watercolor paints. So far it's pencil and colored pencil and a lot of pen because I have been working through Danny Gregory's book "How To Draw Without Talent". Yeah. I'm as green as they come.

Hullo Jess, I just wanted to say. . . WoW! I have seen well put together sketchbook tours but this book is so polished that I gotta say it hardly feels like a sketchbook! Even your experiments are so well done! I love that you did not get so excited that you forgot to prepare your book for oil painting! Gesso is a wonderful preparation for so many surfaces. You might try watercolor ground, it does a very good job in sketchbooks Helping with watercolors and markers from leaking through to the back or other side, even when the paper might not be as good as we might like. Liz Chaderton has a RUclips channel and I have used her recipe for watercolor ground several times and found it to be one of the best! Because watercolor ground bought in a little bottles is very expensive and you can use gesso and modeling paste and get the same effect and save A LOT of money! Good luck and thanks for sharing your amazing artwork with us.
