  • General Information about Holley 4150 Carburetors. I talk about double pumpers and vacuum secondary carbs. Enjoy my journey to getting it working, testing, and setup tips.
Installed - ‪@HolleyPerformance‬ 4150 Carburetor on my 1969 C10 with a ‪@BluePrint_Engines‬ Big Block 540. Using an ‪@AeromotiveFuelSystem‬ Fuel regulator and filter to keep my pressures in check and keep trash from getting in the carb.

What size stall converter are you using with the blueprint 540? Thanks

This isnt a simple answer cause vehicle characteristics.
Blueprint recommended 2200+... I got worried though about the torque converter decoupling when it was time to slow down... 540 makes all the torque and was worried it would drive right through the brakes. Depending on the vehicle characteristics it can make stated stall speed act like a different stall speed. Im no transmission expert... So I called one.
I ended up not going off the shelf. After talking with Hughes Performance(Great people, they're all literal gear heads) gave them a build sheet with my cam specs, tire size, axle ratio, weight, engine specs, and usage info. Nothing in their catalog would quite match, they looked. With that got a customer converter. PN GM111STD BSC2 . Worth every cent. It couples tight on the street, decouples when it's spinning down. Doesn't get super hot on pulls or just driving it. Still very impressed. I don't think I'll need it cause I'm happy, but if for any reason that torque converter was too loose or too tight after installing it they'd fix it no charge.
Sorry for the long answer, I don't have a specific stall speed to recommend.

@@GorhamWorks thanks for the reply. I'm thinking about buying a 540 blueprint for my '68 Impala. My 496 is getting old. I'm using a 2,500 stall converter now and I wanted to stay with it. My 3,500 stall sucked on the street 😒

Dont follow me for finicial advise, lol I fully support this idea. You won't be sad with the 540. Especially a BluePrint. I paid my money for it and in a world where my money doesn't go as far as it use to. This feels like a great investment.
Dumb compare info you don't see.
540 is has thick cylinder walls so it doesn't flash heat up like the 598 with the bigger bore. No crazy oil pans needed to clear k members and things.
NA mine came with 708 hp and 699 fl/lbs of torque according to BP's dyno.
Let me know what you end up with? 68 impala would be a great car for that engine.
