Bianca, great idea. I have watched a lot of these videos about the command hooks. Do you think they'd hold slightly heavier curtains than you used and on a bigger window? Also having real trouble finding somewhere to buy them. Even amazon don't do them.
hey thanks for the vid!!! I wanted to ask you for an update on this :) how did the Command Hooks hold up in the long run, I need to find a solution for my unit but have my doubts on how strong they actually are, meaning, did the curtains fall at some point?. I would really appreciate your input on this , thank you
Hi Manuel thank you for your comment. The smaller the window frame the better hold (like the size in the vid). However, for larger window frames I did have trouble with one hook. It could have been the tension in curtain rod that kepted this one hook from staying put. After about a year I did use a tension rod for my larger window frames and had no issues - see example. These rods sit inside the window frame: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E3UNC7G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thank you. I also rent. Does anyone know if the adhesive from the command hooks damage or leave resedu on the walls/paint? 🙏👍😊💛 I live in Las Vegas snd the heat beats on my windows. It gets hot upstairs. I need s good curtain rod My apartment also doesn't come. With screens so I can never open th windows to let the breezy sir in the. It's nice out. 💛💛💛💛💛 Cheers
No, they don’t leave any residue. They’re great. Just make sure to follow the directions and clean and then wipe the area with alcohol and let that dry, so they will stick well. They come off clean, and easily. Only if you have bubbly, loose paint would they possibly have any paint come off with them. I use them all over my house, I could put nails in my walls if I wanted to, but I don’t. I use both the hooks for whatever I need hooks for, and the flat painting/frame strips for art.
Did you have to screw in that rod set? I didn’t see any screws and I can’t put holes in my walls so it would be nice if I could buy that set without having to do it 😁
Hi Dee. I used 2 command hooks - the rod sits on top of them. See time code: 1:34 for a visual. Hope that helps. Thank you for stopping by the vid and for your comment.
Hi Brittany - providing that you "gently" pull the adhesive strip down as you remove the backing. If it's torn off the wall in an aggressive way, paint will come off on the adhesive strip - this has been my experience much to my horror :|
Super idea!!! Never thought of this command hook method. Renting now and I refuse to paint or have to paint or patch anything when I leave other than the nail holes I’ve made for my pictures/art. I’m think I’m going to try the ‘Alien Tape’ I’ve ordered as opposed to the glue backings on those command strips. Ive removed the top layer off of drywall more than once with those things. They work brilliantly when you apply them as instructed-holding/pressing to the surface for 30 seconds, but then they don’t come off easy. Oh yeah, pssst.....your Buddha is showing😏
Yes, agree! 20 storeys up, probably not GI Jane enough to abseil out the window to give them a bit of a polish...Have thought about it though... :) thank you for stopping by.
Thanks for the tip, I just hung my blackout curtains in less than 5 minutes after watching your video. After struggling to drill in screws.
I've just cursed my curtains then see this video. I'd actually thought to do this but didn't. Silly me.
You should have your own show
Thank you for stopping by the vid and for your comment :)

These won’t damage the wall
Coming off right?

Thank you Brain for sharing your tip re: Alien Tape how did it hold up?
good idea
DO NOT stand on a chair in socks. Especially by a window in a high-rise building.
Hi Kenny good point :) thank you for stopping by the vid.
Cheers mate
Never ever stand on a chair. Always use a step stool or step ladder. Great tips about the curtains.
Genius
Thanks for sharing ! So helpful
@1:47 that window needs washing
