    Thanks for a great video! Here's a tip for removing the hooks...if the stretchy thingie breaks off when you're pulling it down, just slide dental floss between the wall and the sticky strip.

      I think it is best to use the one which came with hooks. Because the picture hanging ones holds 16lbs when 4 of them are used. So one of them can hold only 4lbs, which is even less than original strips (5lbs). And their website says that when you use 2 hooks, you can use upto 10lbs.

    Your video is a wall saver for not drilling another hole in my new townhome. I used to live in an apartment and made a drill at the apartment and didn't get my security deposit back. Bought some products from Amazon and I tried using it yesterday to hang my curtains. The products didn't work for me. I nearly made a drill last night but had to think twice of what to do next. Would these command strips work for floating shelves?

    • @janiceandthomas
      @janiceandthomas 3 года назад +1

      @@kchism1 Yes, we've used them for floating shelves...buuut we decided to put the strips along the entire surface of the shelf that's touching the wall to give it as much strength as possible. The strips did okay for quite a while (maybe a year +) but then they started to loosen from the shelves unfortunately and a shelf fell :( - and it's not the velcro that got loose btw, the actual adhesive part touching the shelves got loose.
      We then decided to superglue (patex) the strips to the shelves and remounted them on the walls and they've been working great so far...we just try to check then every now and then to ensure they're not loosening up.
      All in all, it may be a lil risky depending on the strength of the strips, the weight of the shelves and the items you have on the shelves, but it can work. We try to keep mostly light decorative keepsakes on our shelves.
      Sorry this was long, but I hope it helped :)

    Thank you so much!!! Feeling stress free, after feeling so stressed about moving & hanging up curtains. God knows handing up curtains, getting right measures, selecting between poles, rails and blinds etc isn't easy

    Just moved in to my first apartment I wanted to find a way to hang up curtains without putting nails into the wall. I learned about command hooks to hang up curtains. Now I have tall windows, so I may not go all the way up, but to be able to hang up curtains with command hooks as well as using command hooks for my pictures I’ll be buying I found out is a lot better for the walls and less maintenance at the end of your lease.

    Thank You! I just moved into an apartment that has blinds, that I’m not allowed to remove. I have rods and matching curtains that I want to use, to modernize the windows. Using Command strips is a perfect solution.

      I did find out the larger the hook, and def use the additional backing helps hold the rod a bit farther out from the wall, which is handy for grommet curtains. Thanks.....this was a great solution

    Thank you! My curtain after being up for about 3 months on just the 5 lb adhesive command hook fell the other day. Rod and curtain combined was too heavy. I didn’t know about this tip. Thank you for sharing! I will be trying this.

    Thank you hun. I put up my drapes on Thursday. I had to use three hooks on each side because my curtains are a bit heavy... but all in all, it worked perfectly!!!

    Thank you so much! Have fixed all my curtains in this rented place and they look fantastic. The command system is especially good for the sheers behind the blockout curtains. I have the sheers on their own thin rod because then I never need to move them and I get light during the day with a little privacy. I then put the heavier blinds on their own rod in front (on the largest hooks as they stick out further, past the sheers)and am able to easily slide them open during the day. So quick and easy and so much better and safer than drilling when you don't know where ac wires are. Fantastic command system tip 👏🏻.

    I came up with this exact idea on my own and googled to see if it was possible, found your video and am so excited. I just bought a house but don't want to drill holes in the wall. Love your energy and how well you explain each step, just cancelled the 1 inch rods I ordered on Amazon. Command adhesives work for so many things!

    Thank you for your suggestions about the 3M Command strips and hooks. I recently installed faux wooden 2” blinds to our bedroom windows. I hung our curtains up and it all looks nicely put together. 😊🎉
