    • @jonny2954
      @jonny2954 7 лет назад +1

      Nah, only when APS come in and your missile is totally useless against a tank. Aditionally that tank that you just fired your useless missile at calculates your position in milliseconds and you meet airburst. Being a grunt really sucks these days, however mechanised infantry is more versatile and powerful than ever. Sadly neither the US Army nor the Marine corps have proper mechanised infantry.

      I saw a video where a small proximity/timed shell of some kind was fired at a window on the second floor. It predictably burst in mid air just as it passed inside the window frame. No more blowing apart the outside of the building to breach the concrete blocks, or a round passing unimpeded through a window and leaving through the first room and into another unintended room somewhere behind it. That's useful for reducing "collateral damage" deaths to someone who didn't deserve it.

    • @Sara-L
      @Sara-L 6 лет назад +45

      In situations where there's hostages in the area, you don't want a lethal air-burst round.. It's not intended to reduce collateral damage. It's a saturation weapon to eliminate hidden enemies and to saturate the target area with shrapnel.
