It's not a top 10 worst of all time, it's just the worst bumps for 10 different wrestlers. So at most, Mick would get 1 choice, because that's how the video is framed.
It's just not a safe bump. Johnny The Bull Stamboli did a springboard legdrop to the outside onto Terry Funk in WCW in 2000. Johnny would suffer a busted bladder, torn urethra, and a strained pelvis after pulling off the move. Not worth the spot.
I am an indie wrestler and have worked with Johnny swinger before. We had a conversation about leg drops and he said they really arent worth doing long term since they'll mess up your tailbone/lower back.
Worst bump I’ve taken was chokeslam. But that was on me for not just taking the bump. I jumped pretty high and got scared 😅 I’m only 6 matches in tbf. CJ Lionheart of CCW
Just use your inside hand & base off the shoulder. If someone shoves you through while you're already flattening out mid air, that's on them. They can follow & drop to the near knee if they want to sell looking forceful, or sit out like Damian Priest. There's no call for pushing the collar bone/neck down once the bump is committed to. Keep in mind a trainee at EWF died from taking said bump wrong & a trainee at APW died from Great Khalid giving him spine busters/powerbombs. Tuck that chin!& Stay safe.
the difference between vince and Paul heyman booking, paul would see a guy like bigshow and go "well obviously your a killer", Vince sees a guy like show and goes "ahh man idk what to do with you... fuck it lets have you cry on live tv like a bitch"
@@scottflanagan5456 He's tough AF being naturally giant, no question. But Mark Henry literally competed in the Olympics. I'm sure they test a hell of a lot more than WWE ever did.
Shame that Big Show couldn't hold onto the back board, though I can't say that I'm surprised. Striking something like the ring post with anything similar to a bat really sends jolts through your arms and shoulders. If only Rey's arms hadn't been strapped down; he might have been able to brace himself.
that table bump stacy keibler took on raw was crazy in 2002 i was just watching that clip of her talking about it with sam roberts stacy is so iconic lol she's the best and a sweetheart in person this is coming from someone who met her in march at an autograph signing in new york she still looks amazing all these years later.
I’m two ways about that Big Show and Rey Mysterio bump. On one hand, it must have absolutely sucked for Rey, but at the same time, I can’t help but laugh uproariously watching Big Show drop Rey right on his face
Pretty cool seeing Premier Promotions being featured in the intro! Been to so many great shows over the years and met some absolute legends like Jonny Storm, Doug Williams and Robbie Brookside
Crazy to think that Angle says that this Chokeslam was the worst bump after not properly going through a glass wall and being dropped on his head like 6 months earlier
Stacy told me that the reason her table bump hurt so badly was because Bubba tried to protect her SO MUCH that it meant her ass was essentially on his stomach when they made impact 🫣 This meant that her body violently buckled backwards and made her land awkwardly on her neck; she experienced temporary paralysis, similar to what happened to Daniel Bryan against Randy Orton when he missed the missile dropkick on Raw 😐
What about Harley Race and the table spot with the Hulkster at Saturday Night’s Main Event? That was well before the standard WWE ringside tables. The spot ended his wrestling career, and yes, he regretted taking it, blaming show producers for not knowing you can’t have a table with a metal brace in the center that prevents it from breaking in half.
Jake Lionheart and I were talking the other day about bumps we regret taking. The swanton bomb from a ladder onto a table ruined my neck. i overshot it and landed on the edge, causing it to not break. He said taking a running powerbomb to the outside ring post didnit for him. Basically like the clipart.
I like how Jake was apprehensive about the move because he didn’t know if Ricky could protect himself. The protection in the ddt is entirely on the person giving the move.
Not entirely. A headlock leaves your arms free to take some of the bump instead of spiking your head full force. yes the person giving it has to hold you low enough to look legit but high enough to not actually let your head impact but like most moves it takes two.
@@dennett316 you would be wrong :). Imagine thinking that the inventor of anything is always the preeminent authority in it for the rest of time. You are basically saying it’s impossible to ever improve on something.
Jake could have easily let go of Steamboat's head well before getting near the concrete similar to how Triple H lets go of the person's arm while performing the pedigree so they can more easily protect themselves. Instead he delivered the move exactly the same as if they were in the ring leaving it up to Ricky to get his arms up to protect himself.
Rey took some of the greatest bumps of all time, my favorite was when Kevin Nash spiked him like a dart into the trailer in WCW then The Giant eliminated him in a battle royale just lifting him with one hand over his head and tossing him out of the ring. The stretcher one I didn't see first hand as I had stopped watching wrestling by then but that is still one of the greatest bumps. Rey was awesome.
That Mysterio bump, Rey admitted on a podcast that he doesn't even remember doing that. He remembered the match but that part is hazy for him. Dude was concussed
There was a black guy in ECW, i forget his name but I remember from the dvd’s he took a massive bump jumping on to some tables, hit his head on the ground and had a MASSIVE bump on his forehead.
Interesting how you guys call Goldberg an idiot for accidentally injuring someone. Do you say the same about Austin, Owen, Sting, Samoa Joe, Drew McIntyre, Sasha, D'Lo, Dean Malenko, and others?
Calling Bill Goldberg a "Big Idiot" would only work if Adam Pacitti says it - as a fellow Adam, I am glad Pacitti is taking the heat from Bill. That being said, I agree with Bret about Bill being clumsy.
All these bumps that look really painful, but let’s not forget all those bumps Hulk took like the extreme and deadly leg drop that he moans about all the time.
common misconception. the diving headbutt (at least the way benoit and danielson perform it, benoit's head never actually made any impact when he did it) is a relatively safe move. it's the unprotected chair shots to the head that get you. very glad they did away with them, even if a chair shot to the back will never hit the same as a headshot.
My son was a indy pro wrestler for 6 years and got really banged up. I was sooo unbelievably happy when he retired at 24 and became a medical rehab trainer
Yeah I can see that being partly true, but at the same time I've had multiple herniated discs and it takes a WHILE to feel like you're 100%. L4-L5 and L5-S1 were both fully herniated and S1-S2 was a partial herniation. It took me about 2 years before I could struggle picking up weights I never had trouble with before.
