I know why we don't like to talk about it, but WMXX. When Benoit turned around and Eddie was just standing there with tears in his eyes. Fewer wrestling moments had that level of feelz. Why'd it have to go so wrong. 😢
The fact that it was technically recreated a decade later shows how great of an ending it is, even if instead of both champions it's one person with 2 belts. Mania 20 is still just so much more special knowing how the next few years went
Jeff Hardy winning the WWE for the first time at Armageddon 08, it was the first ppv I ordered with my own money, I was 16 and I had like a month working at my local target at the time
Man you just made me feel old: first one I ever bought was Halloween havoc 97 I was 6 n I had 100 bucks from my birthday still to this day my favorite ppv

Glad other people are recognizing WrestleMania 20. Of course, it's hard to watch in hindsight but in that moment ... It was one the greatest moments in wrestling
Honorable mentions: 1. Wrestlemania 40 Night 2 (Cody Rhodes finishes the story) 2. Wrestlemania 36 Night 1 (What better way for Undertaker to ride into the sunset during a pandemic than a Boneyard Match) 3. ECW One Night Stand 2006 (RVD winning the WWE Championship at the Hammerstein Ballroom) 4. Wrestlemania XX (for obvious reasons, we'll never see that moment again) 5. Survivor Series 2023 (CM Punk's return) 6. Wrestlemania XII (HBK's boyhood dream comes true) 7. Wrestlemania VI (Ultimate Warrior holding up both the WWF and Intercontinental Championship high in the air) 8. Summerslam 2020 (Roman Reigns turns heel and becomes the Tribal Chief)
How is WM 40 NOT on this list??? ... after the over an hour instant classic that RR put on the night before. Then you got dinosaurs making their way into the ring during the last ten minutes to try to steal the thunder of a main event between two individuals that EARNED that spot.
I definitely think Mania 40 has earned its spot among the all time greatest main events, but I think this list avoided it just in case of recency bias.
Eddie Guerrero's WWE championship win is easily one of the best moments in wrestling, It felt genuine considering how much he went through prior to him winning the title. R.I.P Legend.
In Your House: Canadian Stampede is a personal favourite since I'm Canadian. Backlash 2000 would be in my top 3 and I would also put WM XX and WM XL on the list. You could also make the argument for MITB 2023, WM 39 Night One and maybe even WM 37 Night One. I also really like the ending of Backlash 2007. The fatal four way between Cena, Michaels, Edge and Orton is really good and the ending sequence of that match is legendary. Maybe it doesn't deserve a spot on the list because CenaWinsLOL but when I think of iconic match and PPV endings, that one always springs to mind.
Here are a few of my favorites: -SummerSlam 1992 with Bulldog winning the IC Title in front of 80,000 of his countrymen and Bulldog, Bret and Diana celebrating in the ring with the pyro and fireworks. -In Your House: Canadian Stampede with the Hart family celebrating in the ring. -WrestleMania IV with Savage winning the undisputed WWF Championship tournament.
What so many people miss about the ending of Wrestlemania X and what you didn't mention here either is just how great the image of Owen standing in the aisle glaring at Bret was. It was that wonderful, 'I've beat you Bret and I can beat you again' moment that makes WMX so memorable to me ❤️ x
@tinotica lol I didn't go to the show but heard about it through the grapevine Later in life when I looked into what show it was I was like "Thats why winnipeg didn't get a TV show for 10 years" October 1995 till July 2004 was the time between TELEVISION SHOWS Maybe if you didn't have Bret on Commentary and a Dark Match 🤔
Eddie Guerrero winning the WWE title at No Way Out 2004 was one of the most favorite WWE moments. Also the ending of WrestleMania XX was absolutely the best ending for the showcase of the immortals ever. And also NYR 2006 is the greatest WTF moment in my memory for wrestling!! And Survivor Series 2023 War Games ending was also one of the best endings as well
NWO 04's main event is one of the my top 3 matches ever from an emotional level..20 years later I still get goosebumps and even tear up a lil when the ref makes that 3..whatta moment.
No matter what happened afterward, you cannot deny that the ending of WM20 is probably the most emotional and touching close to a wrestling shows of all-time. Which makes it more tragic in hindsight.
There is only one moment missing on this list. I won't say which but you will know. It is missing for obvious reasons but it is still to this day one of my favorite wrestling moments ever. Queue the confetti...
For me it's WM XX. As an old WCW fan, to see two of my favorit wrestler, growing up, celebrate at the greatest stage, in that building and for the company of the beefy oily man.
20. Definitely 20. I know what happened with Benoit but at that time, before any of that happened, it was truly the best. Throw in the fact that you had 2 underdogs and best friends celebrating in the ring, overcoming all odds both in kayfabe and in real life, and being at the top the company. Nothing could and would ever come close
I say No Way Out 2009 because Edge had began that night as WWE champion & ended the night as World Heavyweight Champion; No Way Out 2008 was the first time ever that WWE had two elimination chamber matches on the same night & both chamber matches were non-world title matches, but number one contender's matches instead; Backlash 2008 because Triple H ended "The Age Of Orton"(Randy Orton's 2nd & longest ever WWE title reign of Randy's overall career of about 200 days) & began his overall 12th world title reign, which was his longest WWE title reign as a babyface(good guy); Vengeance 2003: Kurt Angle wins his 4th WWE title in a triple threat match by defeating the champion Brock Lesnar, with Big Show being the other challenger; Survivor Series 2002: The debut of the elimination chamber match, Shawn Michaels winning his first world title in WWE in 4 years, but his last of his entire career; side note, this night had every championship that was defended result in a new champion; Armageddon 2003: All 4 members of the Evolution faction(Triple H, Batista, Ric Flair & Randy Orton)stood at the top of the ramp with a championship belt in hand; Royal Rumble 2007: Undertaker wins the Royal Rumble match(I'm a Undertaker fan); Hell In A Cell 2011: As chaotic as it was, R-Truth & The Miz getting arrested for assaulting referees, cameramen, John Cena & CM Punk; Triple H assaulting Miz as he's handcuffed & getting restrained for that; Armageddon 1999: The birth of the McMahon-Helmsley Regime as Stephanie McMahon aligns herself with Triple H, destroying the "Daddy's Little Girl" image that her father had of her in his mind & somehow getting revenge on her father for her father orchestrating her abduction by the Undertaker & his wicked Ministry of Darkness faction earlier in 1999.
For whatever reasons: you can't ignore the greatest PPV ending of all time: WrestleMania XX: the ending memorable moments can never be repeated.. WM XX: my favourite WM of all time..
Wrestlemania 8 deserves a mention you had: Flair vs Savage with Savage reuniting with Miss Elizabeth that was a brutal match Flair fully wearing the crimson mask of blood. Then in main event Hogan vs Sid with the appearance of Papa Shango then the return of the Ultimate Warrior.
Raw on Friday’s hey, I recall raw being on Wednesday as a kid but we did get smack down before they got it in the USA on a Friday. Now we gotta wait till Saturday morning to watch it live
You forgot the best part of the ending of WrestleMania X, the fact that Owen was looking on it all with clear disgust in his eyes setting up the main event scene for the rest of the year.
My 10 Best Endings are as follows: 10. Wrestlemania XX (That Iconic Moment between Benoit & Guerrero) 9. Royal Rumble 1998 (That Cliffhanger with The Undertaker trapped inside a Burning Casket) 8. Summerslam 2002 (Brock Lesnar Establishing himself as a Main Eventer) 7. Survivor Series 2023 (Hell Freezes Over as CM Punk Comes Home to the WWE) 6. Survivor Series 2001 (WWF Slaying The Alliance of WCW & ECW) 5. Wrestlemania X-7 (The Texas Rattlesnake Joining up with Satan himself) 4. Wrestlemania 39 Night 1 (KO & Zayn Putting Down the Usos to win Tag-Team Gold) 3. Money in the Bank 2011 (CM Punk Takes off with the Gold) 2. Wrestlemania XXX (Daniel Bryan Claims the Big One) & 1. Wrestlemania XL (Cody Rhodes Finishes The Story!)!
* (Wrestlemania 33) - When The Undertaker quote "Retired" after his loss to Roman Reigns I was crying when I was in the crowd!! 😭😭🙏🏼🙏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 * (Wrestlemania 36) - When The Undertaker Riding his motorcycle after his win against AJ Styles in a Boneyard Match & was his FINAL Match @ 55 Years Old 😭😭🙏🏼🙏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 * Those two ppv endings were more emotional (IF YOU ARE A HUGE FAN OF THE UNDERTAKER) *
WM 20 ending with Benoit and Eddie hugging each other with the world titles. Hbk coming back from a 4year hiatus to win the elimination chamber and capture the WHC at SummerSlam Sami Zayn finally capturing the NXT championship from Neville with everyone cheering only for the debuting KO to destroy him left a real cliff hanger at NXT takeover: REvolution
WM 20 and 40 are up there for me i know WM 20 has eddie and benoit so its a sour taste now but even so watching thoses guys hold both world titles at the end of the show is still amazing to this day and WM 40 feeling like a new era and everything with that match and the celebration after just all felt so right.
NYR 2006 is the greatest WTF moment in my memory for wrestling I didn't watch the show but knew the card so the next day I asked my brother to go onto WWEs website and tell me the results and he said "Edge won the world title" and confused I said but "But he faced Flair for the IC belt" and when I saw it the Headline the realization hit me that it was the Cash in
Royal Rumble 2020, Wrestlemania 40, Wrestlemania 30, and Wrestlemania 31 are just too legendary. They'll always be in the top 5/10. So how come Wrestlemania 40 isn't on here?
A few more greatest PPV endings that should be mentioned: Wrestlemania 20 (we all know why it wont be, but it still was awesome) Summerslam 2004 Wrestlemania 24 MITB 2016 Wrestlemania 35 Wrestlemania 36 both nights Summerslam 2020 Wrestlemania 37 night 1 Wrestlemania 38 night 1 Extreme Rules 2022 Royal Rumble 2023 Survivor Series 2023 Wrestlemania 39 night 1 Royal Rumble 2024 Wrestlemania 40 Night 2 (imo the greatest WWE PLE ending of all time) Summerslam 2024
I probably would have had the ending to Survivor Series 2000 on the list somewhere - I mean come on, it's hard to forget Austin dropping Triple H, trapped in a car, from several feet in the air via a forklift.
I know why we don't like to talk about it, but WMXX. When Benoit turned around and Eddie was just standing there with tears in his eyes. Fewer wrestling moments had that level of feelz.
Why'd it have to go so wrong. 😢
growing up as Benoit & Eddie fan, this is indeed my favorite moment.....
The fact that it was technically recreated a decade later shows how great of an ending it is, even if instead of both champions it's one person with 2 belts. Mania 20 is still just so much more special knowing how the next few years went

Glad other people are recognizing WrestleMania 20. Of course, it's hard to watch in hindsight but in that moment ... It was one the greatest moments in wrestling
This past wrestlemania should’ve made the list. It was a wild fun match with an awesome ending.
WM 40 was perfect with Cody finishing the story. Just one little thing, I feel like that moment deserved more pyro.
Honorable mentions:
1. Wrestlemania 40 Night 2 (Cody Rhodes finishes the story)
2. Wrestlemania 36 Night 1 (What better way for Undertaker to ride into the sunset during a pandemic than a Boneyard Match)
3. ECW One Night Stand 2006 (RVD winning the WWE Championship at the Hammerstein Ballroom)

WrestleMania XIV, Backlash 1999, Survivor Series 2001, Survivor Series 2005, SummerSlam 2013, SummerSlam 2014 and Money in the Bank 2016 too
Survivor series 2014 deserves a mention. Debut of sting
@jeremywilliams5141 great list good job mate
I so hate recency bias, but the very first thing I thought of was Punk and WM40. The literal definition of an instant classic.
How is WM 40 NOT on this list??? ... after the over an hour instant classic that RR put on the night before. Then you got dinosaurs making their way into the ring during the last ten minutes to try to steal the thunder of a main event between two individuals that EARNED that spot.
Eddie winning the world title at No Way Out 2004 is one of my favorite wrestling moments.
Probably Michael Cole's first truly great call apart from Foley's first title win. "Come on, Eddie! Come on, Eddie!" is seared into my brain.
Mania 40 deserves to be on this list
Dude be quiet. It’s opinions. Nothing is “deserving”. You have your opinion others will have there’s
No it doesn’t
Right And WrestleMania 3
I definitely think Mania 40 has earned its spot among the all time greatest main events, but I think this list avoided it just in case of recency bias.
Cody crybaby spotted.
Eddie Guerrero's WWE championship win is easily one of the best moments in wrestling, It felt genuine considering how much he went through prior to him winning the title. R.I.P Legend.
Wrestlemania 20 Is the best ever
In 20 years no moment has come close to that one
Agreed, but it is tainted with the Benoit tragedy
It would be number 1 if not for other events. So I can see why they left it off the list entirely
Sorry, but for me ist the Ending from Wrestlemania XX one or the best Ending of a PPV.
No
@@nelsonsamuelsanchez I said for me. I like both Triple H and Chris Benoit & Shawn Michaels is my favorite wrestler.
That's a sentimental one for obvious reasons!
Chris Benoit murdering his entire family made it age a tiny bit poorly.
Would have def been sure top 3 if not for CB... Oh well...

Mania 20.

Vengeance 2003: Kurt Angle wins his 4th WWE title in a triple threat match by defeating the champion Brock Lesnar, with Big Show being the other challenger;
Survivor Series 2002: The debut of the elimination chamber match, Shawn Michaels winning his first world title in WWE in 4 years, but his last of his entire career; side note, this night had every championship that was defended result in a new champion;

Hell In A Cell 2011: As chaotic as it was, R-Truth & The Miz getting arrested for assaulting referees, cameramen, John Cena & CM Punk; Triple H assaulting Miz as he's handcuffed & getting restrained for that;
Armageddon 1999: The birth of the McMahon-Helmsley Regime as Stephanie McMahon aligns herself with Triple H, destroying the "Daddy's Little Girl" image that her father had of her in his mind & somehow getting revenge on her father for her father orchestrating her abduction by the Undertaker & his wicked Ministry of Darkness faction earlier in 1999.

How many great attitude era moments can be described as “and then the glass shattered”? Truly a testament to how great Austin was at what he did.
No mention of Wrestlemania XX.
Benoit Eddie embracing at 20 I still tear up watching today
I know it's not talked about anymore but #1 is WM20 with Benoit and Eddie.
In an alternate universe, WMXX would have been a lock for this list, but it's completely understandable it wasn't included here.
We need more ECW and WCW PPVs ranked by year
Exactly! Cause Hogan joining the nwo to end bash the beach should definitely be on this list
This needs a part 2
Surprised Royal Rumble 2023 isn't on here.
Great list and I agree with most of it but personally I would have added the ending of wrestlemania 40 but that’s just me good vid though
I think Wrestlemania 21 was a good ending. While not a great main event, it solidified that the WWE had 2 new top stars in Batista and John Cena
Wrestlemania X, Bret finally getting his title back and all the baby faces rushing the ring and putting him up on their shoulders.
3:00 oh you have it on your list, I’m actually a little surprised, most people don’t talk about this ending.
But you have the wrong One Night Stand on here, the better ending was with RVD winning the title.
I think New Years Revolution was the best. True game changer moment, it set the standard for money in the bank turn ins.
Wrestlemania 8 deserves a mention you had:
Flair vs Savage with Savage reuniting with Miss Elizabeth that was a brutal match Flair fully wearing the crimson mask of blood.

I probably would have had the ending to Survivor Series 2000 on the list somewhere - I mean come on, it's hard to forget Austin dropping Triple H, trapped in a car, from several feet in the air via a forklift.
And Triple H was wrestling the next week!
Wrestlemania 20 will always be my favorite ending rip Eddie and Chris Benoit
