Good morning nina, this reminded me of elementa9ry school. Working with wax crayons and I remember often breaking them. Like in the uk we are softly gliding into autumn, but the weather is still sunny and agreable. The cards were lovely.the gold always does it...love it too. Have a good week nina, love lenaxxx
Hello Lena. The leaves are already falling from the tress here, but we’ve enjoyed a few more warm days again this week. Hope you have a wonderful week 💕 xxxx
These are so beautiful. I will definitely give this technique a try. Thanks for showing options and discussing alternatives. I don’t have Brushos, so at first I was wondering if I could be successful using something else. You did not disappoint me. LOL. You always have my back! The gold is definitely a nice touch. Glad it’s your signature touch because it just adds so much. TFS. I did. God bless and stay safe.
Thanks Evelyn. I love Treasure Gold and it worked so well with these. Have to brought it out so much recently. Have a wonderful week and thanks as always for sharing 💕
This looks like so much fun! Anytime you get to play with crayons again it's fun! Love the metallic watercolor paints that you made, they worked great. Thanks for sharing this technique. Hoping I can find time to work on something today.
I love these! I'm going to try this on larger paper.I work with dementia patients and am always looking for new, fairly easy ideas to do with them. But I usually have more fun with it than they do!
These are lovely Nina, I have not done a wax resist in ages. I also haven't played with my mica powders or my Lindy's Magicals, so thanks for inspiring me to pull out something different to play with. I hope you have a wonderful week.
Thank you so much Nina. That’s really really interesting and fun to watch. And I have brusho’s, which my daughter brought for me, they’re absolutely stunning and gorgeous too. I really try to have a play with this. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
I do love these! It actually surprised me considerably how well the watercolors showed up on the black background. I never would have thought that it would be so effective. I can see this as becoming a go to technique for me to use in my little journals. Thanks for inspiring us once again, Nina.
Wow, I have been busy this week and almost forgot that today was ‘new challenge day’! So exciting, love your trees, the black is my favourite as well but both are beautiful. Not a technique I have tried before so this will be fun!💕🇨🇦
What type of solvent did you use to rehydrate the gilding paste? Thank you for these. I never had an art class in middle or high school because I was in band and you couldn’t do both. Thank goodness for RUclips !
Your cards turned out nicely. I like the tip of adding the solution to the IncaGold instead of distilled water. Mine are essentially dried out, so they need some attention.
Thanks Cheryl, unfortunately it doesn’t work for rehydrating Inks Gold. I will never buy Inks Gold again as mine have all completely dried out. Treasure Gold is so much better and Pebeo also do a similar product 💕
I do like those home-made watercolours, I must make some to add to my collection. Just a few little tips for working with wax resist - 1) If using water media like watercolour paints, watercolour paper is specifically designed to be the best art paper to absorb liquid media. 100% cotton is the most absorbent & cellulose the least of the watercolour papers. They are followed by mixed media paper. 2) Always leave enough blank spaces on your paper without wax, or your watercolour can't soak into the paper to define your resist. 3) Lastly, heat-setting melts wax, melted wax makes your paper waterproof (refer to hint 2). Have lots of fun!
Looks like so much fun!!!
Love these autumn colours, and a lovely project,,,,xxxx 🌈😊👏💕
Thanks Annie 💕 xxxx

What type of solvent did you use to rehydrate the gilding paste? Thank you for these. I never had an art class in middle or high school because I was in band and you couldn’t do both. Thank goodness for RUclips !
Hi Joye, I used Creative Expressions Solvent Blending Solution which is specifically for Gilding Wax. Unfortunately it doesn’t soften Inka Gold.
Nina, I will probably replace my IncaGolds for Treasure Gold. Thanks.
Fun💖very pretty💖
Thanks Sue 💕
