By far the best Meteor 350 review I’ve watched out of many, which helped me decide to place an order for it. Thank you very much for all the insides about this beautiful motorcycle.

They are good folks but come on. newton meters and kilograms etc. N I believe that they invented imperial measurements.. This won't be be my first bike but I'm getting old and 55 or 60 mph is fast enough for me with the low end torque. And especially the awesome fuel mileage. Enjoyed.
I'm getting more and more impressed with the Meteor after every video. I've really been looking at a KTM Duke lately, but, the Meteor is more my style. It must be my old age talking. Great video. Noticed at 16:45.
Best video review yet on the Meteor, relevant to the USA. I bought a Meteor this summer. I sold all my bigger bikes because I'm getting older, and need lighter machines to stay riding. If I might make one small criticism, next time devote some of the screen time to just hearing the bike run through the gears without comment or music. Subscribed. ;)
Another great video. I had red bob up to 110km/h on the motorway last week. He gave everything he had and it was a comfortable ride. No I won’t do it for hours on end but the bike has the go to do it. 110km/h is a big ask for a 349cc bike carrying a 6’5” 140kg man.
Great review! I had been wondering about the Meteor since I saw them advertised, but I'm still waiting to see you review one of the 650s and see what you think of them. Stay safe and be good brother.
Man, another great video. Putting a video together showing it in so many conditions is super informative. I am still planning to buy a Meteor this spring when I retire for taking day trips, and maybe some a little longer. I keep feeling hesitant because our country roads here in Arizona are 65 mph roads, and there are times when you just have to get on a freeway to connect country roads. This video really put my mind at ease, I am now convinced it will do everything I need it to do.
Excellent and comprehensive review. The one thing I haven't hear addressed we size. You and I are big guys, I haven't heard you say you felt like Magilla Gorilla on a trike when you ride the Meteor so I'm assuming it has a full sized frame. Keep the shiny side up keep on keeping on brother!
LOL Magilla Gorilla, well that brought back memories lol. Yeah it is a full size frame without a doubt. I have mentioned in a few previous videos on the Meteor that I was surprised how comfortable the bike was. My drive 45 miles on a road with a 55 mph max speed limit. I have no interest in riding on interstates. I think the Meteor will be perfect! If I ride it to work 3 days a week the gas savings will pay for it!

i have watched quite a lot of your meteor videos, it seems like you love this bike and i have noticed one thing when one tends to love the bike even the small niggles or issues doesn't matter, from your perspective would love to know few negative aspects of this bike. i agree with all the positive aspects mentioned by you on this bike. I feel like this bike seems to perform the best in 45mph to 55mph speeds on country side roads, back roads and inter city rides.
a great and pretty comprehensive video. My question, and maybe you haven't been able to test this yet, is how does it do on a sustained elevation climb? I live in NC, about a two hour ride to the mountains (and the Blue Ridge Parkway). Maybe after I get my Meteor, I'll be the one to report on how she does climbing big hills.
Another great video, an honest review of the bikes real world capabilities. Let's face it, if you want speed and performance a 350 isn't the bike you want.
Very good report, one of the best on this subject. I've owned a Sportster for nine years, and a lot of motorcycles. Other tests say the tires are of poor quality, and I live in a rainy country (Belgium). What's your feeling about it ?
They are more than adequate for most road surfaces. Are they the best? No stock tire is the best. But if you buy a motorcycle, you will have to replace tires and then you can put whatever brand you wish. Thank you for such nice words and thank you for watching and subscribing

No. Single cylinders have been in use for over 120 years in motorcycles. KTM, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki all still have single cylinder motors in their in their line ups. Thank you so much for watching and subscribing Cheers

I have been riding a 2021 Himalayan for 6 months (2k miles) on these kind of roads. It keeps up with my friend's KLR 650 except for the Interstates. Love my bike but might consider the 350.
I took my bikes ( Yam RD200 , Kaw Mach lll 500 ) down roads like that daily , I was a 130# 15 -16 y/o , that was 35 year old technology and tires And I never once thought the bike couldn't do it .

Good morning! Making the 2 hour drive to New Braunfels tomorrow to check out the Meteor 350 and Himalayan. Bike will be used for the same purpose of commuting, back roads etc. But I will be taking LONG rides 1000+ once or twice a year, which points me towards the Himalayan. Your thoughts? I ask because of your experience and I really like the vids.
Top speeds are similar so that point is moot. Comfort on paved roads goes to the Meteor hands down along with smooth easy riding. Off-road and gravel goes completely Himalayan. So first decide where your ride and then ride both to see fitment!. Thats the best I can give you! Thanks for reaching out and Im certain which ever you decide will be the perfect bike for you! Excellent format for comparing bikes.. Would like to have seen the Interceptor put through the same paces. Being a RE fanboy who has done logging roads with the Interceptor leaving my miffed Himmi to sit it out, I already know the answer. They're all capable bikes, some are simply more capable than others.
Yes I enjoyed the test but how was the bike set up? Are you using semi or synthtic oil, standard oriridium spark plug, how are the shockabsorbers adjusted? Take care Old Man😊
@@OlManRonin Check out the offerings from Hepco and Becker, their mounting system is great and they have many style bags which would look great on the Meteor. This is the route I plan to take when I get mine!
Very beautiful place, Ronin i love this landscapes, here in Buenos Aires there is only buildings, paved roads, paved life, the place of The meteor, hahaha, my only doubth to have one is: fireball, (the basic meteor) or stellar intemediate or super nova , so, what kind of us recomend me, noticed that i ll use only in paved roads and in a big cities, and maybe some days i ll go to the countrysides, thanks,
Hey mate, All of them are same... Comes stock with Tripper navigation... Only difference is accessory pack (colour, seat, windshild).. There is also an add on accessory option from RE for meteor fireball & stellar too😊
Not dissing the meteor in any way and I'm shopping for a RE bike but how come it feels strained at 70 when my 125 was pretty good at 65 and would happily do 70 without red lining. You'd think with 350cc it would take 70 in it's stride and the limiter would be the limiting factor. But seems even without the limiter its not overly happy at 70. So I suppose it's more a question, why isn't it more comfortable at the highway speed limit?
I was going to ask about this bike compaired to the Himmy but this post here on the Meteor answered the questions i had. The Meteor IS NOT MADE FOR DIRT ROADS and the SUSPINSION isnt made for dirt roads either. Given you could change the tires to cover the dirt roads doing that and messing with the suspension I would just go with the orginal 411 Himmy although I am looking forward to the 2022 650 Himmy if they ever get around to marketing it. (The KLR 650 Adventure looks tempting) Where I live and for the "roads" and trails I intend to use it the Himmy is the answere and not the Meteor. Nevertheless, a great video for the Meteor. Now I see you riding the Meteor more than the Himmy and given you can get back into your favorite haunts I'm wondering with a tire change would you even need the 411 Himmy? Are you going to get rid of the 411 Himmy?
if you watched the video released before this one, I say that 2 things are prevelant in a small cc motorcycle, you will have to down shift no matter what the brand and for its size, it has amazing low end torque
I’ve owned a couple 250 cc Chinese bikes that where just awful at climbing hills. I live in finger lakes region of New York so lots of glacier carved hills. Sat on a meteor 350 couldn’t believe how comfy it was and good build quality. Thanks for the response
When you will get and try classic 350? Both have similar engine but perform differently because of some tuning I think. Classic is more relaxed bike. Highest selling Royal Enfield bikes
@@sourav6339 UCE engine is not defective it is really good still gives me great milage and low end torque but very vibi in higher rpms was the mainly issue you can't ride more than 80 km/hr
I'm same ht and I sat on Meteor at local dealer. I went to cruiser style MC several years ago because I can't sit with my knees bent and forward controls feel better. I found Meteor to be pretty roomy and comfortable. When I age out of current behemoth I'll look at REs.
Man, you can't get out the door with one of these for less than 6k (here in TX). To bad, looks like a sweet ride if i could get it for much closer to msrp. Sigh.
Personally, I wouldn't take my Meteor down a dirt road. If it's hard packed gravel, I think it could do it in a pinch. As for the Interstates, freeways, or super highways, those aren't the Meteor's strong suit. However, it does have enough capability to hop on for a few miles, so as to bypass a bad neighborhood in the city, or to bypass a traffic problem along your route. I'd have no qualms about doing that. Therefore, I'd consider the Meteor capable of short stints on a freeway, Interstate, etc. I wouldn't want to spend all day there, and the Meteor isn't in its element anyway. That said, if you need to hop on for a few miles, it's easily capable of doing that for you. Where the Meteor shines is on city streets, back roads, country roads, and highways (e.g. US routes or state highways); that's where it's in its element. The Meteor really shines on two lane roads with 50-55 mph limit, such as 539 in Southern NJ or 519 in North Jersey. As you said in your video about why to buy the Meteor, its sweet spot is 60 mph, max. Put it on roads where that's the rule, and the Meteor will be happy.
Great review, but the one thing the Meteor is clearly designed for, and I'm told excels at, is riding in heavy city traffic (yes, I know your sojourn into suburbia was the closest you could get to, and at that, it was deserted). The bike really scores in traffic, filtering and turning between stationary cars, with its low seat height making putting your feet down when stopping suddenly from virtually zero MPH on the turn easy and undramatic when that idiot tourist looks left and steps off the kerb (we drive on the left, but US tourists in particular in London forget that). Also the bike's slim profile enables it to slip between stationary or crawling cars to get to the front of the queue, ready for the lights to change, adding to its credentials as a city commuter bike/runaround - Reported to me by a friend who borrowed a demo bike for a few days while his cheap Chinese commuter bike was on the dealer's bench… He works in central London and visits clients around the city by bike for convenience. The little Meteor was perfect… otherwise he'd have had to resort to his Rocket Three, which is too big to filter easily. He's ordered one for himself and will give the Chinese heap back to the dealer in PX.
filtering is 100% illegal in every state on the US, except California. And yes I don't have a mega city near me I out standards. lol thanks for adding those insightful thoughts cheers and thank you for watching and subscribing
@@OlManRonin Like you, I'm a long time Harley owner (30 years) and an RE owner (I've got a ’90 hot rodded S&S FLHS and a 2019 Intereptor). I knew filtering was illegal in some states, but hadn't realised it was nearly all. In Europe (and in much of the world) it's not only legal, but encouraged to ease traffic congestion. I used to be a motorcycle instructor, and we taught learner riders how to filter safely… it amuses me that US riders are taught to hold the bike on the clutch when stationary in traffic, yet in the UK, that would mean a fail if done on your test (even car drivers are taught to shift into neutral when stationary… including automatics, which are in the minority). The reason, so US riders tell me, is so you don't get shunted from behind (apparently you're expected to pull forward to avoid it… into the car in front) but in Europe, a bike would be alongside the leading car in a standing queue at a stop line or traffic lights anyway. Ride safe, and have fun.
yes youngster. playing road crayon verboten. makes bike uglier and rusty. makes you sore and grumpier. thanks for another pleasant video, now i understand the Harley connection I get itnow my impression of parleys is like the bubble headed blonde you end up with. by every metric, not the best but she makes you smile and feel go the Harleys I rode all had poor brakes inadequate ground clearance on paved roads. every time my conclusion was this is awfull, buy I cant get this grin off my face. off to watch more of your videos. thanks a roy I/m older'n you narney narney na na, aargh, gaak thump. too right for my own good roy
no indian bikes made for 70mph roads... coz indian traffic most of them won't let u get to more than 110km/h and meteor handles gravel roads very well xD
Thank you, I did say adequate, I'm certain the Himalayan and Classic 350 will smash the Gravel/Dirt simply because of design. Thanks for your comment! It is greatly appreciated. Cheers
@@OlManRonin classica can even hit thr off roads but just not good as Himalayan ... and Indian roads are usually kind of hilly and bumpy so most og RE handles well even at 120km/h .... Yes I enjoyed the test but how was the bike set up? Are you using semi or synthtic oil, standard oriridium spark plug, how are the shockabsorbers adjusted? Take care Old Man😊
EVERYTHING is stock. Oil is RE synthetic
Superb 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you
Hi will you be getting Some saddle bags when they become available
I would love too. it needs them for my lifestyle and would look awesome on it
@@OlManRonin Check out the offerings from Hepco and Becker, their mounting system is great and they have many style bags which would look great on the Meteor. This is the route I plan to take when I get mine!
@@dennishofmeister5167 they look awesome thank you
Very beautiful place, Ronin i love this landscapes, here in Buenos Aires there is only buildings, paved roads, paved life, the place of The meteor, hahaha, my only doubth to have one is: fireball, (the basic meteor) or stellar intemediate or super nova , so, what kind of us recomend me, noticed that i ll use only in paved roads and in a big cities, and maybe some days i ll go to the countrysides, thanks,
Hey mate,

Thanks Archev and I agree wholeheartedly
TOTALLY! I have one too; I know what you mean... 😀
I keep being jealous on that beautiful green Ohio scenery with lovely hills and country roads! 😉
it will be only green a few more weeks and as Jon Snow says Winter's coming!
Yeah, I used to live near there. So beautiful!
So I suppose it's more a question, why isn't it more comfortable at the highway speed limit?
mine doesn't
I was going to ask about this bike compaired to the Himmy but this post here on the Meteor answered the questions i had. The Meteor IS NOT MADE FOR DIRT ROADS and the SUSPINSION isnt made for dirt roads either.
Given you could change the tires to cover the dirt roads doing that and messing with the suspension I would just go with the orginal 411 Himmy although I am looking forward to the 2022 650 Himmy if they ever get around to marketing it. (The KLR 650 Adventure looks tempting)
Where I live and for the "roads" and trails I intend to use it the Himmy is the answere and not the Meteor.
Nevertheless, a great video for the Meteor. Now I see you riding the Meteor more than the Himmy and given you can get back into your favorite haunts I'm wondering with a tire change would you even need the 411 Himmy?
Are you going to get rid of the 411 Himmy?
nope the Himalayan is a steady
Hemmi is the one for me, good gravel riding though on a meteor 👍.
Tune in to tomorrows LIVESTREAM

How’s the meteor at climbing hills? Does she struggle
if you watched the video released before this one, I say that 2 things are prevelant in a small cc motorcycle, you will have to down shift no matter what the brand and for its size, it has amazing low end torque
I’ve owned a couple 250 cc Chinese bikes that where just awful at climbing hills. I live in finger lakes region of New York so lots of glacier carved hills. Sat on a meteor 350 couldn’t believe how comfy it was and good build quality. Thanks for the response
@@abrahamhoad2661 of course!
When you will get and try classic 350? Both have similar engine but perform differently because of some tuning I think. Classic is more relaxed bike. Highest selling Royal Enfield bikes
Not sure when they will become available in the US????
@@OlManRonin i hope they will available soon. 😊
Defective UCE engine classic! Or meteor engine CLASSIC.
@@sourav6339 UCE engine is not defective it is really good still gives me great milage and low end torque but very vibi in higher rpms was the mainly issue you can't ride more than 80 km/hr
Welches Zubehör gibt es für die Meteor? Weltweit bestellbar?
Ich empfehle Royal Enfield und ebay für Zubehör für den Meteor
I'm about 6ft.. Do you think i'd feel to tall on a Meteor? It looks great. I love the look of motorcycles like the RE Meteor. :-)
I'm 6'2" test ride one to see if it fits you

I'm same ht and I sat on Meteor at local dealer. I went to cruiser style MC several years ago because I can't sit with my knees bent and forward controls feel better. I found Meteor to be pretty roomy and comfortable.
When I age out of current behemoth I'll look at REs.
Man, you can't get out the door with one of these for less than 6k (here in TX). To bad, looks like a sweet ride if i could get it for much closer to msrp. Sigh.
Everything is up

Put it on roads where that's the rule, and the Meteor will be happy.
yepper thats what I said in the video. Thanks Mark for watching!! It means alot
pfft
Ride safe, and have fun.

no indian bikes made for 70mph roads... coz indian traffic most of them won't let u get to more than 110km/h and meteor handles gravel roads very well xD
Harley might not fit on indian does and even harly owners takes them out only for some biking events they always keep RE in there garage or a mini sport bike
