    I just purchase my Meteor at the excellent (my experience) Mount Vernon, Ohio RE dealership yesterday. They had a good supply of all the Meteor models and colors. My first riding impression is that the bike feels very refined, it has an extremely easy takeoff from a stop, it's very comfortable, it's easy to get on and off, it feels large, it has very good low end torque and it sounds good. At 70 years old, I find it enough bike for me. I ride the beautiful Ohio back roads as well. Thanks OMR for the help in making my decision on purchasing this bike.

      Got my Meteor 900 miles ago and enjoying the experience more than I could imagine. I’m a long time Harley rider/enthusiast (50+yrs). At 79 years old I decided to downsize and reduce the weight. The Meteor is certainly not underpowered and doesn’t even hint at struggling to do what I want it to do. I couldn’t be happier with it. Top quality everywhere you look. Nice bike!

    It conforts me to see a man with such a full garage to talk about the bike I've ordered recently. I am still gonna have to wait till late October, but I understand your smile to ride it because it was there for me too when I rode it. I'll be looking forward to watch your 1000 miles review and so on. Thanks from Brazil!
    By the way nice sightseeing from Ohio state. Beautiful place!

    I have gotten to ride the 2021 himalayan and the interceptor 650, the first thing i noticed was how nice they shifted, so light, the clutch was light and the whole experience of shifting was so much nicer than my V-strom!
    I love what RE are doing, i would love to have one of each of their bikes, they are like kittens and i just want to love them and squeeze them and hold them tight! Lol.
    Unfortunately with the exception of the 650s they just lack the poke i need to do the really long distance stuff, but i really like them for short rides of an hour or so around town or down to the beach about 45mins away.

    Love that paint color and the quality. They did a great job with this bike. Says online it get 100mpg too! That makes the low power a little more excusable. Gets more than double the MPG of a Sportster and like 50% more than the Himalayan. I think in India where people care about motorcycle mpg its a pretty big advantage.

    Thank you for your reviews. I purchased a 2021 Meteor 350 in Stellar Red. It is my first bike since 2007/2008 that I have owned. Great little bike, decent power for around town. Your reviews and a few others helped me decide what I should get. It was either this bike or the Honda Rebel 300/500. So far I am pleased with the decision I have made! Thank you again!

    • @whatsstefon
      @whatsstefon 3 года назад +2

      Sadly, I don’t think the 500 will exist. Emission policies have put a stop to that, and worldwide, including locally in India the sales were very low compared to the 350 engine.
      The 650 exists, but it’s easier controlling emissions of two smaller cylinders rather than one big one. Though that engine is physically way too big to fit the old frame and likely over powered from the Classic chassis and brakes.

    • @whatsstefon
      @whatsstefon 3 года назад

      @shaumik das yes. I’m aware of that. I’ve already test ridden the Meteor here in Australia and soon the Classic 350 will be here too.
      But what does that have to do with a 500cc model? Or 650? I don’t understand your response to me.

    I went to college back in 1978 and I bought a very used 1972 Honda CB 350 for $75.00. The guy I bought the bike from fell on it and decided he was done riding bikes. Well The bike’s battery was shut, the shifter was an improvised vise grip pliers and I took it to my college dormitory, on my way to the dorm it began to rain and I slipped the shift and almost ended up on the ground. A passerby with a pickup truck gave me a ride to my dorm and the next morning I took the bike to the shop. For another $75.00 they fixed the shifter and got a new battery. I was then shown that the bike had a electric starter, hey it was my first bike and the first time I rode a motorcycle. Loved the bike, the 350cc was more than enough to me. Cannot wait to buy a meteor and when it reaches the USA a classic 350. Loved your “review” and had to subscribe. Outstanding channel content. Stay safe bro.

    Greetings from the UK. Had my Meteor since July and now covered 1500 miles. The bike starts to loosen up nicely around 1000 miles, feels smoother, more responsive and mechanically quieter. Mine will hold 70mph on our UK motorways (freeway equivalent) as the revs drop in 5th gear. Very little in the way of vibration and on reaching 65mph all vibration disappears. Although the engine is pulling a few revs at 70 it never feels strained and will maintain this even on inclines. Had the Himalayan beforehand, that was a cracking bike but the seat hieght and weight made me change as I didn't feel safe manouvering it around. On paper the Meteor doesn't seem worth a second glance but for any doubters you need to ride one and enjoy the experience. The Himalayan is a quality piece of kit but the Meteor has moved up into the next league and is up there with the premium bikes from Honda, Yamaha etc. In the UK it is bargain basement money to buy and demand is outstripping supply. All the best guys, ride safe and keep your knees enjoying the breeze!!🙂👍

    I fell for this bike when you uploaded this video 1 year ago, but couldn't justify getting it over the Kawasaki Vulcan S. I also wasn't too keen on the color options, but figured, through your videos, that the brown looks nice enough. Fast forward 1 year and they've just announced the Super Meteor 650. The 650 is a beauty, but it got me looking back to the Meteor 350, and when I discovered that they've released a Stellar Red color variant, I was completely sold. Sorry Vulcan and Super Meteor 650, horsepower and displacement isn't everything. I just ordered myself a Meteor 350 in Stellar red and I couldn't have been happier. Only wish I'd done it before the end of the season. But I CAN'T wait until next year!

    • @YouCubeParadigm
      @YouCubeParadigm 2 года назад

      Partially why I'm now justifying a 350cc over a 650 is because I live in Norway, and the speedlimit in my region is 50mph, and if I ever were to visit Oslo, which I still haven't in my 26 years living in Norway, the speedlimit is 75mph, which this bike can just about push out. Why pay double the price when the optimal cruising speed for this motorcycle is 55mph anyway? Then I'd be sitting on a lot of horsepower that I'd never be able to fully utilise

    When I started riding in 1964, some people were touring on bikes this size and smaller. Almost every bike was an adventure bike. I had a 185 Suzuki, and my buddy had a 175 Kawasaki, and we would strap our fishing poles and .22 pistols on them, and spend all day having fun. Now those fun little reliable two strokes are gone, and some asshole would call the sheriff on you for fishing or shooting leaves floating down the river. We have really advanced, haven`t we? Now I have been retired for 20 years and he is a multi millionaire. Yep, a couple of troublemakers for sure.

    I was very interested in the Meteor 350 and patiently waiting for some to arrive at the dealership but when they did arrive they had 3 but they were already gone because they were pre sold I didn't get the opportunity to sit on one so I sat on a Himalayan and bought mine and think I made a better choice for the type of roads I will be riding on in Northeast Ohio similar to the roads that you ride on and using it for so maybe the dealership not having any Meteors in stock was a blessing because now I own a Himalayan I like all of the Royal Enfields but I only have enough storage space for only one and can only afford one of them I like the old school looks of the new Classic 350 I would like to see them over here in the United States like your videos they helped with my decision making process on which motorcycle I wanted. It all depends on what type of riding you want to use it for

    I wish more brands would counter balance there engines like RE is doing. It makes sense in a Cruiser model. Ultra Smooth engine with so little vibration you wonder if there is a engine. Just how low you can get that engine to idle once its run in some more is the big question from me. I know the RE Himalayan 2020 I have has significantly gained power and lower Idle stability at 2850 Kms so far. Each time I ride it she just keeps impressing me more.
    I know the RE 500 Bullet tribute is out and signalling the end of that motor line, but if they ever bore out the Meteor engine too 500cc and get it well counter balanced then they would be crazy to NOT re-introduce a new RE 500 Bullet with that smoother emission controlled engine. Namaste`

I much prefer the ride stance of the new classic 350 over the Meteor, only because i have to stand up and negotiage ruts and pot holes. Everything else falls in place but it would great if they kept the styling of the Thurnderbird tank intact instead of adopting Harley style. But you should have a look at the new classic 350 recently launched in their India market- pretty much the same bike as Meteor with the same 349 cc engine but with even better looks and old school spoke wheels. I've been wanting to check one of these out, but there isn't a single one in AZ. If I were to buy one, two things I would have to change immediately would be to disable the ABS (I will not allow a computer to control my bike) and chop of the back of that heel and toe shifter. I have over a million miles on bikes with normal shifters. About 10 years ago I bought a used Goldwing with a heel and toe shifter. I barely made it home. It was clumsy and awkward to the point it made the bike almost unrideable. I thought I had made a huge mistake buying it. Then I found out it was aftermarket. I immediately replaced the floorboards and heel and toe shifter with a stock normal shifter and stock pegs. It suddenly felt 300 pounds lighter and actually handled like a motorcycle. I like small bikes. I have a Suzuki S40, also known as a Savage 650. It's a 650 single in a very small frame. But it has tube type tires, and I learned the hard way to never venture far from home with tube type tires and to always have a road service plan. Tube type tires are several times easier to puncture than tubeless tires, and when punctured, are pretty much impossible to repair beside the road, especially on a bike with no centerstand. This bike has both tubeless tires and a centerstand.

      @@OlManRonin When you ride hundreds of thousands of miles with a regular shifter, then try a heel/toe shifter, it's completely different. It can also cause transmission damage if used wrong. I have owned 2 Goldwings, a 1987, and a 1993. Both came with heel/toe shifters and floorboards. I converted both back to stock. At just over 60K miles, the transmission started jumping out of fourth gear. The consensus on several Goldwing forums was the same. It was not an uncommon problem. The previous owner had likely been using the heel/toe shifter as a footrest, and keeping pressure on the internal gear change mechanism, eventually wearing it down. To fix it meant a complete engine and transmission teardown, over $4000. More than the bike was worth. I rode it that way for a while, skipping fourth gear, and then sold it cheap. In learned to never buy a used bike with a heel/toe shifter.
