Thank you for your video, I am brand new at sourdough starter. Most all videos i have watched have their starters in glass jars. Do you use all the starter you have in the large container? I am thinking of using a small glass bowl. I have to wait until this spring and summer when my house stays warm. I turn my heat off when I am away from home and when i am sleeping at night. Thanks again for your video.
I think a lot of people use jars because it's easy to secure a cloth or paper towel on the top with a rubberband. Plus it's nice to watch it get all bubbly! I normally keep mine in the glass container, in this video. When I first began with my sourdough starter, I discovered that a mason jar was too small for me. But I cook/bake with mine, just about every day. No I definitely haven't used all of the starter in the plastic container yet. But I've made a dent in it! 😄 Thank you so much for your kind comment! And I wish you happy baking when you get your sourdough going! Keep me posted on it!
