Circle of Dust - Rational Lies (25th Anniversary Mix)

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Circle of Dust's 1995 debut self-titled album, "Rational Lies" has received a brand new mix, bringing new life to the track. Showcasing the original's unique electronic programming, melodic vocals, industrial guitars and samples, the new mix has been fully restored from the original studio session files with one new addition. Circle of Dust live guitarist Daren "Klank" Diolosa has added a guttural growl to the track as he used to perform when touring in the '90s. "Rational Lies" has now become the 4th song from the album to receive the 25th anniversary mix treatment, with more songs from the album to follow.
“While working on the 25th anniversary mixes, I have been very deliberate about not recutting any guitars, vocals etc, but only using the original, existing elements. The only exception is “Rational Lies”. Every time it got to the end part while I was mixing, I felt like I was missing the growl Klank used to perform live. So I hit him up to see if he would be into guesting on the track and re-create that piece of magic from the live show.” - Klayton

The tech back then was awful to paraphrase what Celldweller said. Now that it has improved massively, he was able to make the songs come out in their pure true form. Shows how much of an exceptional genious he was even back then

Whoaa that synth during the 'Get out of my head' part! I've never heard that before and it adds soo much. Not to mention Klank's growl. Damn. I can't get over this one, I like it even better than Self Inflict, and that's saying a lot.

The guitars hold a whole new vibe, the synths add a new layer of tone, there are vocal licks I never noticed and it feels like these remasters are a final level leading to a boss of new (eventual) material once again. It's like 2015/2016 for me all over again. The 2016 versions are beast, but hot damn, the core has been touched and not just viewed from a safe-zone window. I'm saying I dig it.
