  • This video is an introduction for those of you who want to know how to become a military pilot. I start by using my own story as an example, so you can get an understanding of how I became a military pilot. Since there are a million different ways to enter the military and become a pilot, I wanted to give you my path to pilot wings as an example. I hope you enjoy the content and please tell me what questions you have, and how I can help you on your journey to becoming a pilot in the military.

Any way you can make a video or talk about how you prepared for the AFOQT and TBAS. I'm active duty and I'm working towards applying soon. I have the AFOQT and TBAS in August and was wondering what you did to prepare for that. Thanks ! Your content is very helpful.

Do major airlines make exceptions to pilots with less hours?, for example will 750 hours with military training go the same distance as someone with 1500 hours being a self taught pilot?. Also what do companies mean when they state a "Military conversion of .3 per sortie"?here is some background I'm 17 graduating as a junior and looking to join the air force I want to get a gurenteed contract to be a air traffic Cotroller then serve active for 4 years while obtaining an MBA then I plan to re enlist as a reserve pilot to receive training and maybe serve a couple full active reserve years, before hopefully having enough to fly a large commercial airline. Do you see any discrepancies in my plan and also what would be the best way to acrew flight hours? Lastly Is flying a c-17 help transfer over to a civilian pilot better while acrewing more flight hours?. Currently I'm taking my last quarter of school and studying for the asvab. Thanks for your guidance and sorry if you read all of this, and I wish you the best 😁

Regionals will hire you with a restricted ATP but not the Major airlines.
Civilian pilots log time from engine start to shut down, while military pilots log wheels up to wheels down. This is given to the military people as a .3 conversion.
There is a better way to go about doing all of that if your plan is to ultimately become a pilot. I suggest you start with reading my book. This will help explain the process and show you the difference between active duty and the Guard/ Reserve.
The Air Force takes the AFOQT, not the ASVAB.

I am 31 and prior service Army, is it too late for me to become a fighter pilot in the guard or reserve?

I believe the last year to be in the Air Force as an officer is 39 and I do believe they factor in prior service into your age. Worse comes to worse I do believe you can apply for a Waiver. (just as a notice I am not in any way affiliated with and or in the Military, I am just speaking from independent research on the topic.)
Good luck on your Future Endeavors.

The age limit for pilot training is 33 years old without a waiver and 35 years old with a waiver. Although Adam Diaz is correct at 39 to be an officer, it is more restrictive for pilot training candidates.

@@adamdiaz1320 The age limit is different for UPT students. 33 years old without a waiver and 35 years old with a waiver.
