    That's really outstanding.
    Here we have Great spotted woodpeckers at our birdfeeders but they are very shy and immediately take off when they see us, even through the window. Thinking of feeding them from the hand? Outright impossible!

      I go to a local park - Kensington Metropark in Milford, Michigan - where people have hand-fed the birds for generations. :)

    please explain how this was achieved - I have yu an email address if needed - I have lots of them in my wooded yard - they are the most skittish of birds - They only very seldom come to my many feeders -- and or suets -- thXXxx

      @@JocelynAndersonPhotography good, i have in mind focal could be set on the bird, but the hand would spoil it. Not surprised by IQ, now smartphones can make good videos and photos.

    How long on average do you have to stand and practice this for them to trust you? I try in my yard often but the birds dont seem sold lol

      This park has had people hand-feeding birds that land their hands for years so some are quite friendly. :)
