Another great one, keep them coming! Just ordered replacement of mine. Fault appeared as "DSC failure" on the display-screen inside the car, and diagnosis showed fault codes related to EVAP-valves AND Idle Actuators. Understand, from your answer, that the idle control valve may be trying to over compensate for the issue and it's not able to, so also throwing a code? Meaning that there actually may not be something wrong with the (very expensive) Idle Actuators. Will follow your advice and just change the EVAP-valves for now, clear the codes and hope for the best!. (Screen showing "DSC failure" is pretty "far off"!).

I love your content and videos. I used to be a mechanic in the 80s and 90s, I fell in love with the
E24 M6. Of course I couldn’t afford to buy one at that time and still can’t.
I was afraid of the new M cars because of the technology has changed since I used to work on them. I have always loved the e60 M5 but was afraid of it. I can safely say you gave me the confidence to buy one.. I’ve been watching your videos for a while and I’ve M5 about three years . I love the engineering that goes into BMWs especially the M Cars. They are a few things I don’t understand how to work in the car. For one. How to program the steering wheel buttons specifically. Programmable button. If you can give me some information on that I would appreciate it.

Thanks man, I really appreciate it! Yeah the E24 M6 is a real nice car with an awesome engine. When you put a regular BMW engine next to an M engine there are a lot of differences you can see, even the materials used. Check this video out on the steering wheel M button ruclips.net/video/NUqkZjn-FyQ/видео.html in the same prior menu you’ll also see the “steering wheel button” option

Great video, very instructive, just subbed! You should of wiped the dust off while you were in there though...😅

Thanks for the sub, I’m glad you’re here.
True, I only have a small window of time to get the job done though, vs leaving the engine in bits in my driveway

@@MTechGuy Yeah, I know how it is... I've been out all night attempting to remove the rusty camber bolts on my old 316. Wife getting grumpy... I'd love to get an M5, but they're 40-50.000 quid (UK money) here in Norway.

Cheers Duncs, good to get done as a PM item. Yeah I’m familiar with the starter cheat from a while back. I plan to do a video on it in the future, but my starter has a few Km’s left in it yet

Hey Brother. Thank you so much for another great video. Another item which is on my list. Perfect.
While I’m here I got another questions. Hope that’s fine and I would appreciate your thoughts or experience on this.
Is there anyway to check if the injectors are leaking? Did mine last year as part of preventive maintenance. But im actually not sure if all of them are fine. Had some petrol smell from the oil. And now my mind is still asking itself if everything is fine. I have to mention that I changed the oil two month ago and still have quite a petrol scent from the oil. I also have to me
mention that I only drove it like 5 times about half an hour since then. And as usual one can’t resist give it a bit of beans when the oil temperature is above 90C. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not hooning it. Maybe it needs just longer rides, which will come soon. But considering the horror stories you hear about injectors leaking, I’d rather be overly cautious than left with an nice v10 coffee table.
    Thank you so much brother.
    Greetings from the other side.

I’ve not experienced a petrol smell in the oil TBH. Might be worth pulling the injectors to test them- just incase one may have been bad out of the box?
