I had to watch twice as I fell asleep the first time. I love the final creation. I actually love the pink splatters. But I know what you mean about wanting white spaces. Loved seeing you create. These are fun. ❤
Love that! I have been doing several since your first one and developed along the way. Thanks for introducing the use of stencils and other interesting mark making implements. That will help me with my next project. Enjoying these thoroughly.
That pink splash really looked good, and I loved how you transferred the same shape to other parts of the page. My heart jumped when you did it, and my immediate thought was to rip out the page and start again. But you showed how to tie it into the overall design. Thank you so much for your ideas. I am off to my garage to give it another try. Have a great week.
I love the happy "mistake" with the pink. It will come in handy for me to know I don't have to be perfect and just go with the flow. Thank you so much Ceri. Never too old to learn a new trick :)
I have been in this crazy Mixed Media World since 2005. And had never heard about grid journaling until this year. I follow a new person I found, BB Henry. She is a gridologist!! I made a new word, LOL. I have only created one with her in a tutorial and I loved it. And I cut a grid template from cardboard also. Can't wait to see what you create in this new world, Ceri!!!
I enjoyed this video SO MUCH! I was delighted to hear you talk about trying out other art forms but maybe not “getting them.” I do that all the time. But you are correct in saying that it’s so important to play. And I shall write down your words of wisdom in the front of my sketchbook - “It’s not ruined, it’s just changed.” Your pages are lovely. Thank you so much for sharing this project.
I'm loving the way these grid journals come together. It's so interesting! Good on you for trying again after giving up. I really struggle with the thought "what am I going to do with it after I've made it?" I'm trying to accept & embrace that I can create art for myself if it makes me happy. I love your videos, I'm always so inspired. Thank you Ceri 😊
I am so happy to see you embracing imperfection! I have been thinking while watching the past several videos how far you've come in the last year.😊🎉 I love the pink at the end, it brought the whole project together. And I love the other colors as well. ❤
Good evening dear Ceri, your grid is beautiful, the pink added a wonderful pop,of colour, happy accident! Adding the stencil marks , wow! Love it. Thank you so much for doing another grid, I enjoy the free feeling of just adding paint and doing. I appreciate that and you. Have a lovely night. Hugs and blessings to you 💙🌹
You are definitely relaxing into this process. You always have such great color combinations. When the combination is good there really aren't mistakes. 😊 Each section is beautiful on its own and collectively they are stunning. I may need to try this myself. Lovely.
Love these colours and love the freshness of the finished pages. After watching your previous video I researched this and decided it has many levels of possibility. It can be a fun way to play when the mojo is hiding or an in depth dive into a colour scheme or a theme or whatever in between. I am in the process of making a journal for this purpose and am looking forward to starting it. Thanks for sharing. Cheers
Hi Ceri, thank you for this video. I live in South Wales and just recently took up my art again but was struggling with abstract as I've always been uniform in my art. This idea of freedom I am struggling with. I will try again so thank you.
Really pretty Ceri, I like it. You handled the splatter like a pro, your years of television really served you well. Always the consumate professional. Love watching you "play", thank you for sharing. Take care.
I'm glad the accident happened so I can know what to do. The colors are beautiful together. I'm not sure I will try this but it is interesting. And great to try different colors together ❤
Great work, Ceri! My brain always wants to "see" something of the real world in art. In this piece, I see ITALY: bays, sailboats, stucco houses, seagulls, sunshine, beaches, and walkways. I've never been to Italy, but this evokes my imagination. Thank you!
That turned out so well Ceri, I loved the colour combo, it would be interesting to try it with hexagons to see what happens, thanks for another great video, I'd never heard of grid journaling before, it's so interesting, and again you did another beautiful creation. 😀
So funny, I kept saying "use the terra cotta" (it's one of my all time favs)! Ended up with almost terra cotta, I am happy now lol. These turned out beautifully!
This was a classic example of what the RUclips artist Carolyn Dube calls an OOPS - an Outstanding Opportunity Presenting Suddenly. Well done rolling with it when you probably would have preferred not to.
Oh yes...I like it too xx A bit behind but promise to try my first one with the Sept Colour Combo today. I don't have a mixed media journal but will make something xx
I also have "Art OCD." Therefore, I like to do gelli prints, spray alcohol on wet paint, and other techniques in which the outcome can't be controlled. It's good for me and, I usually really like the results!
Love love love this colour palette (my favourite colour combo is pink and green)! Very pretty! Have you considered challenging yourself by creating a grid that has different sizes of squares and rectangles?
I’m currently figuring out shapes and combinations, I’m drawn to a honeycomb grid also circles but yes combining squares and rectangles is possibly my next one.
I loved your happy accident! That colour combo is beautiful. Just a thought, I have seen a few RUclipss of late making homemade washi tape or recolouring less favoured washi tape - wonder if you could place washi between your grid and pull it off at the end. I think the colours/patterns would be amazing and you would also have created one of washi tapes. Just an idea/suggestion, not trying to tell an expert what to do!
I do have low-tac masking tape made for art which I could use however as part of letting go of perfection I’m accepting of going outside of the lines……..very difficult for me but part of my development.
I am at the point where you are adding your strips. As of now, if you had not spilled the pink, you would have had all right angles I enjoy your narrative. You have a comraderie with the other artists on you tube😊
Mixing colors (with other than white) is scary for me but the exercises I've seen to date just didn't catch my interest. This! I could pick 2 colors - paint some of the 'raw' colors. Then begin to mix - keeping a swatch along one side would help me 'see' the differences later. (like fabric has dots in selvedge with colors used). Doing it would be fun all by itself. Later, I could mix in other media if I wanted. Wheee. Thank you.
It is a stencil designed by Darcy Sanders and so,d by P.M. Artist Studio in Texas, they are also who I design for as well, here is a Chrome link: pmartiststudio.com/product/messy-borders-vol-2-stencil/
Great save with the pink! I would have had a temper tantrum! I need to commit that saying to memory: "If you can't conceal it, reveal it." LOVE IT!❤❤❤
I adore your work and watching your thoughts become a masterpiece 👏👏👏♥️
Another lovely spread. The corrugated cardboard really made it pop. Thanks Ceri 🇦🇺
Happy accidents happen for a reason Ceri, lovely spread.
Really like the colors and shapes on this. Great job fixing the paint that spilled on it.
Love the colors! You can't go wrong with soft pink! Have a blessed week
Thank you! You too
Love the colors and textures in this project. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
I had to watch twice as I fell asleep the first time. I love the final creation. I actually love the pink splatters. But I know what you mean about wanting white spaces. Loved seeing you create. These are fun. ❤
Yay! Thank you
Love it love it love it! I'm going to try one later. Very inspiring
perhaps my fave vid of the month... colors, tone, delivery & results hit all the right notes... ty.
Ceri, you inspire me! I tend to be a perfectionist. I would have been panicked if I spilt paint. I need to loosen up! Thank you!
Love that! I have been doing several since your first one and developed along the way. Thanks for introducing the use of stencils and other interesting mark making implements. That will help me with my next project. Enjoying these thoroughly.

Perfect
I love it especially the messy bits!

Yes I referenced her in my first grid journal video.
Very nice. I really enjoyed watching your process. Thank you for sharing your work.
My pleasure 😊

Thank you so much.
You can even make a pink blob look great! Love your spread, even love the pink in the way you used it (and I really don’t like pink). Xxx
Super pages today. That rogue pink really showed your flexibility and turned out very cool. Awesome!❤❤
Thank you so much
Great video 🙂 I'm loving the way my finger automatically points to the next square to paint and how I scream when we match up 😂
I do that too😂😂
I'm loving the way these grid journals come together. It's so interesting! Good on you for trying again after giving up. Ceri, I started a project like yours, I am enjoying it and can't wait to do more, thanks for sharing and yours look great, like always, enjoy the day.
Thank you! You too
I am so happy to see you embracing imperfection! I have been thinking while watching the past several videos how far you've come in the last year.😊🎉 I love the pink at the end, it brought the whole project together. And I love the other colors as well. ❤
Thank you
I played the video and did one. It turned out okay. It is so out of my comfort zone..lol. thanks for sharing and inspiring!
Wonderful!
So cool!! Love how it turned out!!
Love it, love the accident- it ties it together❤️ happy greetings

Thank you Brenda a grid page nay become a monthly video.
I do enjoy watching your videos. Your mistakes are lovely as well. Like Bob Ross said only happy accidents.
Ceri it turned out really well, thanks for sharing as this gives me ideas what to do.Loved the stencil that you used.👏👏👏👏
Thanks so much! 😊
Love when you just go with the flow!

Ceri, I ADORE how you handled the pink. I'm adding "if you can't conceal it, reveal it" to my arty quotes collection.
Thank you

Wonderful, have fun playing.
like the pink , it looks good 👏
i love this!! Thank you for inspiring us!
I like the color combos and the marks. Thanks for showing grid art
Beautiful work.
Hi Ceri, thank you for this video. I live in South Wales and just recently took up my art again but was struggling with abstract as I've always been uniform in my art. This idea of freedom I am struggling with. I will try again so thank you.
I really like how you did these today. Of course, I like everything you do! Looking forward to the next grid spread you do.
Glad you like them Robin
You seemed a lot more comfortable this time! When that pink spilled, I gasped, but you recovered well! I love the colors!
😊 I love the colors🎉
For me, the pink “mistake” really adds to your grid.
Ceri, you are Master of 'layering'. Another inspiring demo ! Thank you X
Thank you Millie
Those grids are better and better Ceri❤
Thank you Myriam
Hi Ceri. I think the accidental paint splash added to it quite nicely. 🙂 TFS Hope you have a great day. 🌞
I think so too
Really pretty Ceri, I like it. You handled the splatter like a pro, your years of television really served you well. Always the consumate professional. Love watching you "play", thank you for sharing. Take care.

Wow! So impressed with how you adapted that paint spill!
That turned out so well Ceri, I loved the colour combo, it would be interesting to try it with hexagons to see what happens, thanks for another great video, I'd never heard of grid journaling before, it's so interesting, and again you did another beautiful creation. 😀
Thanks so much, yes hexagons are in my future
Wow I love it. I’ve have been loving doing mine. Next time I’ll use your colour choice. ❤
Wonderful
I love it!!❤
Love this. Thank you! This is something that appeals to me and sparks my creativity! (unlike jelli prints, which I don't "get". 🙂)
So funny, I kept saying "use the terra cotta" (it's one of my all time favs)! Ended up with almost terra cotta, I am happy now lol. These turned out beautifully!

❤️❤️love this!
Wow! I love this Ceri! ❤
The splatter of pink was a perfect accident....I really like this grid art page! 😊
I really like this
I also have "Art OCD." Therefore, I like to do gelli prints, spray alcohol on wet paint, and other techniques in which the outcome can't be controlled. It's good for me and, I usually really like the results!
Super!!!!!
Thanks!
Sage isn`t a color I`m necessarily crazy about but I love the colour scheme.
It turned out really well, Ceri :)))
Oh thank you
I always enjoy watching you solve problems. It is a beautiful outcome.
Because you don't like the colour of the paper, why not apply gesso first?
I had considered that, and may try that out. Thank you
Love love love this colour palette (my favourite colour combo is pink and green)! Very pretty! Have you considered challenging yourself by creating a grid that has different sizes of squares and rectangles?
That tiny gel plate might actually be a piece of photopolymer (like they make clear stamps out of), maybe? That’s what it kind of reminds me of …
Love the finished result!
I’m currently figuring out shapes and combinations, I’m drawn to a honeycomb grid also circles but yes combining squares and rectangles is possibly my next one.
I think you could be right it’s certainly doesn’t feel like a gel plate.
I loved your happy accident! That colour combo is beautiful. 💗 Love the splash. Could have done it better if you tried.😊 Thank you for your vids Ceri. I learn so much. 👏
You are so welcome Ruby
I am at the point where you are adding your strips. As of now, if you had not spilled the pink, you would have had all right angles I enjoy your narrative. You have a comraderie with the other artists on you tube😊
Thank you Carol
Happy accidents~
Hello ❤❤from Beautiful British Columbia Canada
Hello there
❤❤❤
I like it😅
I'm glad you didn't use the graphite pencil....it makes artwork look messy, dark and gloomy. I like what you did today! 😊
Thanks so much 😊
Really like your video. Where did you get all those black stamps?
If you mean the black foam stamps they are by a company called P.M. Artist Studio in Texas, they are who I design for.
@@CeriGriffiths Love your videos and I checked out the stamps. Thanks so much
What kind of paper are you using to mix the paint on? It looks like it wipes off so well!
It’s actually a cookie sheet from the baking isle in my grocery store, so much cheaper than a similar product from a craft store.
Someone is flying a kite
Mixing colors (with other than white) is scary for me but the exercises I've seen to date just didn't catch my interest. This! I could pick 2 colors - paint some of the 'raw' colors. Great idea.
Question: where did you get the stencil with the 6 different lines of designs at the end of the video (used with black paint)
It is a stencil designed by Darcy Sanders and so,d by P.M. Artist Studio in Texas, they are also who I design for as well, here is a Chrome link: pmartiststudio.com/product/messy-borders-vol-2-stencil/
