How To Swap Jordan 3 Back Tab

- Got a pair of 3s that would look better with that OG Nike Air on the back? Today you'll learn how to swap Jordan 3 back tabs. This is one of Vick's most simple projects, but one that can make a huge difference for your favorite pair of Air Jordan 3s.
The best part is that by following the instructions in this video, you should be able to complete a Jordan 3 back tab swap at home without too much trouble at all.
Ready? Let's get it.
Arguably the hardest part of this whole project is finding the right donor tabs. You have a few options here; you can either cut them off of a pair that you already own, or you can find someone that custom makes them. The latter is the cheaper and preferred option. In Vick's case, he had a pair laying around for a project you all might be familiar with, the recreation of the 1988 Jordan 3.
Now that we have our donor back tabs picked out, it's time to remove the current Jumpman back tab. All you really need here is a seam ripper. Be careful not to damage the Elephant Print!
Once you've got the back tab removed, it's time to add some simulated stitching to your donor. This will ensure that the shoes still look factory, without the messy stitching on the inside of the sock liner.
Time for glue! Make sure you apply it evenly, let it cure properly, and take your time with alignment. Once your backtabs are applied, you're good to go! Swapping back tabs is an easy way to spruce up any Jordan 3 (or 4) in just a few steps.

Hello how are you? I would like to know something, if you can help me? I customize a lot of basketball shoes, mostly fabric. And I use Angelus with fabric thinner. But when the customer plays with the shoe, the ink comes off, perhaps because of the sweat. With the jacquard paint, which you use for fabric, can you paint it and not come off when you play?

My jumpman back tab just disintegrated after just touching the plastic. I haven’t worn them in 7 years and I live in hawaii, so could it be the weather that made the plastic get all yellow and sticky?
It could have been the weather, but also lack of wear causes those portions of the shoe to break down and just overall age.

That was a clean job on these but imo not every jordan needs nike air on the back, I think it belongs on the OGs as a part of the sneaker history like the recent fire red 3s but for a new GR release that's sitting, it seems like a waste...
