About Ingredients:
Join MIT-trained chemist and science educator George Zaidan as he tries to recreate everyday household products like toothpaste, lipstick, or shaving cream using only natural ingredients… and no recipe! He’ll have to decode long lists of intimidating chemical names, figure out what they all do, try and find natural substitutes, and then cook up the do-it-yourself versions in his chemistry lab (kitchen). While George may or may not succeed, we'll all learn something new and surprising about the products we take for granted every day.

I think you need to charge it twice actually, it's the same with the cream, if you charge it once, it's a pretty luquid cream, but if twice, you get the right whipped cream! Try two cartridges (is that the word? :D dunno), trust me, i'm a barista! :D making a whipping cream is a daily basics! Then you'll get the right foam
Good suggestion, thanks!!
You can charge my foam anytime lady!
Sorry, could not resist.
love the DIY method; of using common chemical ingredients in the making of shaving foam; one can also increase the slickness factor by adding a teaspoon of glycerin that would act not only as a skin lubricant but also as a foam boosting agent; this would also help to make a thicker base of cushioning foam; one could play around with the actual amount of optimal glycerin to make this desired shave cushioning foam layer; one could make five batches with varying concentrations of glycerin to find which one would work the best.
Love this series
this guy's awesome. love watching his videos
This show is incredible. Makes me wanna make my own science show.
Why is this not on the actual channel (TV)
Who knows, maybe one day!

Because nobody watches tv... RUclips is the new tv
Jozef because television is a dying medium.
Does any of the isobutane or propane remain in the foam once it comes out of the can? Many claim canned shave foam is not good for your skin because of the propellants. I'm curious if any propellants remain in the actual foam and end up on the face. Thanks!
Could you add some Aftershave balm in the shaving foam so you dont have to use it later ? Or is it going to destroy the foam itself, mainly the lubricant. (i know that there is no reason to do it but if you would, would it work ?)
great show
From lebanon ,george u r the best teacher on youtube
What percentages of ingredients are you using to make the foam ?
Thankyou
love your videos!! please make more!!, by the way, could you make one about spray deodorant? sounds like a fun and interesting one to watch =)

Which container use for filling shaving foam liquid ?
Dear George zaidan sir
This video has help me alot in making shaving foam...now I request you to make a video on snow spray....its a humble request please...thank you sir
I'm also interested
I suggest adding NaOCi into the mixture and combine a little C2H6O in it aswell
How do you decide on the steps to creating your own shaving cream? I mean if I was given all those ingredients I'd just blindly mix them up.
Sir what is the % of ingredients that you are using to make the shaving foam?
Nice concept. Also bonus points for using the mortal kombat sample!
Thanks! Full credit to Elizabeth Choe (exec producer) and Daniel Carbone (editor) for the music selections. They're wizards.
Thanks GZ :)
more of this pleeease
amazing, please subscribe my channel
LovetheMortalKombatReference!GreatVideo!SorrySpacebarBroken
To get more structure, you migt need to use 2 bullets, one to charge the can, the other for the pressure in the can. We use the same cannister in our cafe and always use 2 to create the large whipping cream that you'll see on your ice creams
I'm just new to formulating but I think the "natural" Dr. B soap used doesn't create a stable foam. It can lather but not as good in foaming as actual surfactants. Try replacing it with alkyl glucosides. By the way, I wouldn't recommend using lye soap on the face as it is too harsh.
Can shaving foam kill hiv virus on surfaces
I LIKE THIS
These videos can gain a lot of traction if you let it. Please make more!
amazing, please subscribe my channel
World Airli
You should make it with soap nuts and water, its super simple :D
Why when we press the button on the can, the propellant gas at the top expands?
Let me explain this way:
At t = t0, V = V0
At t = t1, V = V0 + V(out)
(where V(out) is the volume of material that went out when you press the button)
That’s why the gas inside expands.
What's in hairspray?
Make a video on " which ingrediants are required in making a Synthetic Food Colour ".
Cool 😊
a collaboration with YT channel "how to make everything" would be awsome
Armani Per
Good idea, I'll reach out to them!
thanks so much
Great episode. I bet you got a better shave with your hand made shave foam then the store bought one.
Before he said that the bubbles arw to smaal to be seen. And then after making own cream he says i can see thw bubbles. 😂
"Ooo, smooth"
pressurize cans
your so cool please make more ingredients video please national geographic
Will you be looking at facial masks and hair masks?
you forgot Sodium lauryl sulfate. the foaming agent
it was more like a gel i guess
I never use foam, hardly use water. Man up.
Jozua86 your skin's probably fucked up
I always use water. You're gonna jack your skin up if you dry shave alot. Especially if you're shaving a good amount of growth.
Dope
there s some woody allen gene over here, very good
I too lazy to go buy one so i made one to use it for slime making XD
I prefer cream, same stuff less water more economical
just lather up some organic african black soap $4
This Is More Like Breaking Bad Not Breaking Science

+George Zaidan THANKS SO MUCH!! I just LOVE this series!!!
WHERES THE SHAVE GEL AND SOAP EPISODE?!??!
You used Nitrous Oxide in your shaving cream? I'd buy it just for the laughing gas experience while shaving. Btw, I didn't know you could just buy Nitrous.
turn the whip cream thing upside down
🤗
Deodorant could be fine to see
It's on the list!
I like it when I shave my legs better than soup n the hair grow back lesser
Dr. Bronners soap ,ONLY
M O R E F O A M
Note: if you have a ~12 yr old sister then you have to build fort knox to hide it otherwise it's gonna disappear
I use Gillette shaving foam every day!
Im in 4th garde so this math thats your doing uhh

Shaving is for the weak!
Join the bearded brotherhood today.
not if your still 15 years old
Any suggestions for getting over the scratch-your-face-to-death period? It always hits me at ~2 weeks without shaving
George Zaidan that's about the time the hairs are long enough that they curl back toward your face and start to point and poke into the skin. perhaps there are hair softening products to combat this ??? I'd buy it.
+George Zaidan try some water diluted shampoo. I'm just 15 but my uncle used that tactic
+Waleed Zahid
And look like Santa Claus? No thanks, I'll stick to being clean-shaven.
Nah, I have no beard.
XD this series is a RIP-OFF for NATGEO
This guy makes me cringe, I thought he was wippin up something els for a second
Shaving is for women and teenage boys, not for men. Shame on you George!!!
