Neat! I always enjoy this channel and the work you put into these mixes. If only Kurt had managed to jump into video game soundtracks just a tad earlier we could have heard more of what he could squeeze out of certain sound chips, but I'm happy to have what we have, and of course his CD quality stuff is stellar. Top mix dude, your channel is absolute gold :).
Reflecting on it, you know how so many European composers seemed to just *understand* their chipsets inside and out, cranking out insanely high quality music with their technical prowess? I think Kurt is the American member of that mostly-European club. He does sound implementation now, but on the Genesis, that was like a prerequisite mindset that you needed to have to make good music.
As a kid, I listened "What's on your mind" a lot because it came with my SEGA CD and was a CD+G demo disc! The part where (I think) Spock says, "Pure Energy" is "Pure Nostalgia!"
That X-Men 2 soundtrack is my childhood! I wasn't aware that the composer was such an accomplished musician, but the soundtrack is so good that it all makes sense.
I'm not sure how much of this is just how you mixed it, but Track 2: X-Men 2: Clone Wars bears a really strong resemblance to "Come with Me" from Hack by Information Society.
good ear! It's like that in the original game. I suspect it's just a coincidence (similar riffs and motifs), but I don't have anything to back up that suspicion.
Credit where it's due: most of Scooby Doo Mystery was composed by Alex Rudis. Kurt just wrote 2 MIDIs and sent them off to Alex. He's not even sure if they ended up in the final game. Still, it was an important starting point!
@@MJZD_Gaming_Channel_2004 The worst part is that if he didn't lie or take credit as much as he did, his work on game soundtracks such as Earthworm Jim or more novel contributions like the music for first PS1 Demo Disc would've been fairly interesting to cover. What a shame, isn't it?

I keep coming back to this bangin mix
That transition with Pure Energy and the title theme of X-Men Clone Wars has fulfilled a wish in me!

excited for the interview, i love Kurt and his music! I recommend everyone check out Don't Be Afraid if you love industrial.
I'll second that. He had a hard time finding someone to publish that album, which I can believe because the album goes HARD.
Lots of straight-up bangers in this one. Kurt really knew his stuff from day 1. The "Sky Away" track is gonna stick with me for a while.
Nightmare Circus Jester track really sounds like one of the Soul Reaver Glyph puzzle combat themes, but I can't put my finger on which one.

Information Society is one of the very few bands I've loved my entire life. Thanks so much for making a video about Kurt!
Dang! That is some heavy industrial sounds. Nice.
Awesome!!!! INSOC!
What a champ Kurt is.
So drop your hesi-ta-tion and come with meeeeee, nothing they can say can put us doooown
Pure energy!
Thought that it said Kurt Cobain for a moment. Nice video though, as always.
Love these videos, man. Keep up the great work ❤

Request: Tommy Tallarico Artist Feature
Several of his credited OSTs were actually composed by Todd Dennis while Tommy lied that he composed them.
@@Nathan-rb3qp I can respect that.
Terrible idea. Tallarico's a snake, as proven by Hbomberguy's newest video. His mother is very proud.
@@Discopope Wow... I respect what y'all saying.
