This channel is helping me find the boat I am looking for by listing here and helping me know what to look for elsewhere. Thanks for what you are doing for all of us. Praying for your health and happiness. God Bless you and Randy. Respectfully
Great looking boat and so large for a 32. Great shout out to Christian Williams, my OTHER favorite sailor on RUclips. I’ve been dreaming of an Ericsson since finding his channel and watch yours for even more great ideas. You just given me other progeny to watch for! Awesome episode!
yaaaaaa, Captain Q & Randay notification :) I learn a little something from each video which helps me look towards a boat I will buy someday soon, I hope! Someone forgot to put the DInty Moore in the cabinet *gasp* chuckle.. btw, From watching way too many sailing videos, you can also lock the wheel when heaving to..Thank you again for another awesome video, made my day!
Be still my heart! I saw the Pacific Seacraft 31 designed by WIB Creelock at a boat show right around the time the first one was made, 1987. It was my dream boat! In the real world, I wasn't going to go anywhere at anytime so, that passagemaker wasn't ever a possibility. Practically, a much more spacious below, older, comfy cruiser was more what I'd consider. I had no idea Pacific Seacraft made a boat like this one. If I liked to sail solo anywhere close to as much as Christian Williams, I'd be writing a check. I did see his sail to Hawaii video long ago but, it looked like torture to me. I don't need crew to help sail, it's just a witness I need. Strange, I can be alone on land just fine but, sailing alone is a nonstarter. Thanks again for all of your videos!
Back in the day when we bought a C&C 25 for racing we had two friends who competed head to head in new, bright yellow sloops. One was an Erickson 37 while the other was a Morgan 36T. We all raced PHRF and those two boats were always way ahead battling for line honors. They traded off, so while the Morgan was good in light to moderate air, the Erickson prevailed in the heavy stuff. It was an interesting summer.
Well done! I love your work. So many great boats, and so much about naval design history. It is a joy to see and hear your interactions! You should have your own show!

Hello Captain Q and Randy We used to live in Boston, and I worked in Salem ( not too important) but live In Malibu now ( have a Sabre 402) and we can keep our boat in the water in winter. Love your shows!
I like that the head is next to the companion as then you don’t have to walk through the whole boat in your wet foulies to get to the toilet when on watch. Salt water in the main cabin is so hard to get rid of while voyaging
I was the listing seller for this boat and had I owned her for nearly ten years prior to being forced to list her. During nearly the entire time I had her she was kept in much better , near Bristol shape but unfortunately unlike the spry Captain Q -- I could not climb the ladder to get aboard her when she was on the hard (She draws near 7' of water and is a good 12-15 feet up there to do winter maintenance. ( when I purchased her I brought her up myself from a marina on the CT river to Hawthorne Cove Marina in Salem by myself -- via the Cape Cod canal. I was forced to sell her as I'm getting up there and had several back operations resulting from degenerative disk and the brite work was going to hell and the yard guys were slathering on antifouling without properly prepping it. The black showing through is the flag coat and she certainly needed a soda blasting. When Captain Q graciously decided to tour her I had by then moved to FLA -- aka God's waiting room and I had to part with her ( for a song as it were) and sadly I wasn't there to leave the traditional bottle of vino and stew for them. Could not have gotten up there anyway. Finally, she was way in there as she had spent two seasons on the hard under shrink wrap as I decided not to launch my final year in New England. HCM which has very little real estate is notorious for packing them in there as tight as possible as they have a very very nice mooring field and a top notch set of launch people. Many memories when Captain Q was standing behind 'Bounce" one of their launches-- I'm delighted to report I've been in touch with the new young couple that bought her and they have renamed her 'Altair' ( she's also a USCG documented boat BTW) I ended up sending them the Chelsea Chronometer that I had removed while looking for a new battery for it so that round spot next to the barometer on the teak bulkhead -- in gratitude they sent me my foulies and my size 12 boots and my Mustang PFD/harness and some oil lamps I had on board. I am deeply ashamed she appeared she was in such a messy state/neglected state when the Captain toured her -- but he saw she was a princess in distress and found a good new home for her.

On my shopping trips, I’m constantly on the lookout for Dinty Moore stew....I will say the best meal I’ve ever had was when the cook on the little Ensenada Race handed up to me a paper plate of Costco Lasagna and green salad, while the sun was setting , red and orange, and the ocean was “glassing off”, down south, off of Baja,, on a 43 footer.... Skipper said, “It doesn’t get any better than this...”. 30 years later, turns out he was right....
I'm getting ready to splash my Ericson 35 soon. Love the Christian Williams shout out. This was so fun for me to see you review the PS 32 as it shares the lineage with the Ericson. Quality boat. I really am shocked that a boat of this pedigree was missing the Dinty Moore. I look forward to seeing you guys do some sea tests.
@@YachtHunters I have a 1985 35-3. It is a keel stepped mast and I have had the mast step repaired with all new glass. It had some compression cracks in the bilge area. It appears that everything is all good as the work looks really great. Really love what you and RanDay are doing. And appreciate your comments back!!!
Love the layout. I think the quarter head is the way to go for cruisers of this length. A forward head simply eats up too much valuable real estate. You lose a small quarter berth. Big deal!!! It also means the midwatch doesn't have to stumble through the entire boat to take a leak, waking up everyone.
I noticed there was a can of something missing in the galley as well as a bottle of something . Not to mention names. Overall it was a perfect presentation as usual and my personal favorite was the fridge below the chart table. I was wondering how far that location was from a favorite place I knew growing up , Salsberry beach and Hampton beach. Use to be little carnivals in the area back in the 60s. Happy trails.
Another great show an sailboat! So funny when I started to watch this video. It had been up for 30 mins when I finally got to finish it. It had been up 9 hour's... Thanks grandkids.... Lol!! Luv those lil dirt merchants tho!! ✌🏻💗😊❣️
Always interesting to watch your reviews . This boat seems to have it all and can’t wait to get back in the water where it belongs. I somehow feel like it’s up for just about any adventure 👍
For an east coast boat that yanmar was super clean! From the Hudson Valley to Long Island Sound to Buzzards Bay to Boston, the owners are terrible with engine maintenance(especially Catalina owners)....I've seen 10 year old Yanmar's looking like rusted relics. ;)
How many of those "boats on stilts hoping to be loved again" do they have in that boatyard? Are they all for sale? If they are, you may need to make another visit!
Where was the DINTY MOORE? Great vid- this one will go fast....er uh maybe its still avail in Sept 2021--it will deffo be on my list of prospects. Thanks guys for the review! (deffo =definitely) and Instagram is NOT a place! lol
@@YachtHunters I WANT WANT WANT this boat! Hope she's around in Sept. Looks like a little blasting, painting change the name and hit the blue water! This boat may go to Hawaii too, just like Christian's. :) Keep on truckin' Capt, Q!
You might check with a transport broker and see what they would charge to haul it. We've heard some of the rates are quite good for cross-country.... could be worth it.... or not :)
I have no doubt I would have found a different boat but, I envy the life he lived when Dave Martin extensively sailed a Cal 25. He spent 2 years rebuilding and then 7 years sailing adding, wife Jaja, son Chris and daughter Holly along the way. As soon as you label one a day sailor, somebody is going to see it as more..

It appears that everything is all good as the work looks really great. Really love what you and RanDay are doing. And appreciate your comments back!!!
What a charming little yacht, and a really nice walk through
thank you
Nice! A little cleanup and repair, its good to go. Christian Williams a favorite of mine, a true storyteller as you 😁🌊
Thanks for another great video and quite a sweet boat ⛵️⛵️😘
thanks, Kathleen... good to have you back! :)
Love the layout. I think the quarter head is the way to go for cruisers of this length. A forward head simply eats up too much valuable real estate. You lose a small quarter berth. Big deal!!! It also means the midwatch doesn't have to stumble through the entire boat to take a leak, waking up everyone.
Surprising interior design especially the aft 3/4 berth, engine bay and head.
pretty cool
I noticed there was a can of something missing in the galley as well as a bottle of something . Not to mention names. Overall it was a perfect presentation as usual and my personal favorite was the fridge below the chart table. I was wondering how far that location was from a favorite place I knew growing up , Salsberry beach and Hampton beach. Use to be little carnivals in the area back in the 60s. Happy trails.
definitely some missing gear of some kind.... bit of a shocker...😆 we were about 45 min drive from Hampton Beach...
Ahoy Capt.Q and Randy . How about doing a Biography about the life and experiences of Capt. Q !!??!!
someday
I love the fridge/nav table idea... If i was ready to buy i would be flying down to buy that one :) ... and oh yes Wapner at 4
I really liked this boat. Kinda took me by surprise. Thanks again guys!
yes, quite a nice surprise once you get inside
Keep up the good work. I learn so much watching your reviews. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Bit nervous of you maybe slipping and tumbling over the side at 10:09, Cap'n Q - please be careful!
Another great show an sailboat! So funny when I started to watch this video. It had been up for 30 mins when I finally got to finish it. It had been up 9 hour's... Thanks grandkids.... Lol!! Luv those lil dirt merchants tho!! ✌🏻💗😊❣️
Glad you enjoyed it!
I think Randy forgot the Dinty Moore. That's a hell of a nice 32', very roomy, easy weekender and I love the rear half-birth
someone forgot it.... or forgot to stock the boat properly 😄
That's a lovely yacht, if it was in my area (South East Asia) if be a buyer in a heart beat.
Always interesting to watch your reviews . This boat seems to have it all and can’t wait to get back in the water where it belongs. I somehow feel like it’s up for just about any adventure 👍
Bonus points for the Christian Williams reference! I hope you didn’t go hungry, or thirsty, with the Dinty Moore fairy being on strike...
that's not a real problem for the captain....but Ran Day : another question :-)
This layout works for solo needs and enough offshore ability. . Is there a similar boat but trailerable? Is a Catalina 30 the next. best option?
For an east coast boat that yanmar was super clean! From the Hudson Valley to Long Island Sound to Buzzards Bay to Boston, the owners are terrible with engine maintenance(especially Catalina owners)....I've seen 10 year old Yanmar's looking like rusted relics. ;)
Interesting. Thank you for pitching in
@@YachtHunters I know, those were fight'n words and stirring the pot for some angry sailor comments.
How many of those "boats on stilts hoping to be loved again" do they have in that boatyard? Are they all for sale?
If they are, you may need to make another visit!
Awesome boat. Awesome video. Awesome references. Wow. A++.
If it had a full keel, it be a purchase. Know the Pacific Seacraft were built for speed however I'm old and slow. Would like the stability.
Where was the DINTY MOORE? Great vid- this one will go fast....er uh maybe its still avail in Sept 2021--it will deffo be on my list of prospects. Thanks guys for the review! (deffo =definitely) and Instagram is NOT a place! lol
Yes, the DM was shockingly absent... as were the bubbles!! thanks for watching
@@YachtHunters I WANT WANT WANT this boat! Hope she's around in Sept. Looks like a little blasting, painting change the name and hit the blue water! This boat may go to Hawaii too, just like Christian's. :) Keep on truckin' Capt, Q!
You guys are the best. Please keep up the good work!
Thank you! Will do!
I think the extension ladder was backwards before you climbed into the boat. I hope you turned it over if you had to. Love you channel!!!
sometimes its so cold on these shoots we don't know what's backwards or even upside down
@@YachtHunters I appreciate your perseverance!!!
I want this boat!! Unfortunately I'm in "not so golden California ".
Thanks Q crew.
You might check with a transport broker and see what they would charge to haul it. We've heard some of the rates are quite good for cross-country.... could be worth it.... or not :)
@@YachtHunters
:) Thanks for the response Capt. Q.
Another little gem. I felt sure there was some food in that cupboard...
sorry these boats are not all perfect !
Captain Q to the rescue with the homemade shiskabob pointer.
have to be handy on board and creative when need be hahaha
Man, that console and wheel would drive me crazy in a cockpit that small.
Such a nice boat, great layout for its size.
No has has ever had the opportunity to get on the boat and say, "what can I do today". 🙂
i dont knw....the true boat lover always thinks of his boat and its needs no? :-)
I think you should draw a line between a real cruising sailboat and a fun day sailor or weekender. This one could be a fun weekender.
How about searching for a Sabre sailboat since they are made in Maine.
that is definitely on our list
Very nice boat. A lot of similarity to our Pearson 33.
It's been in the 90's the last couple days !
Please do a motorsailor like a Nauticat!
Ok
Hello Captain Q have you considered writing a book in regards to sailing or buying sailboats
No, too many others more knowledgeable than I have done that I feel
But I am flattered
Lol, I love that the Dinty Moore doesn’t always get around.
Keep the viewers glued to the screen lol
Keep the reviews coming. Great info
Thanks, will do!
Great lay out on this boat.
I noticed a turks head on the wheel. Is that to mark the rudder position?
usually straight ahead though i didn't verify that
Is this hull related to the endeavor 32? I thought I recalled a relation to Erickson? My dad had the endeavor 32 ((the one we took to Bermuda twice)
They move molds around so much you never know but I think it’s only Eticson /pac sea
how about a Stink Pot or two. You could go see the Maine Wooden Boat School? Love your show. I don't what Insaham is either.
We hope to take a trip up to the school... there are several great ones in the area... we did review a Nordhavn a few weeks back and have a motor sailer coming up
Went there some trials held there a long time ago
Looks like Randy did an April fools joke and hid the Dinty Moores.
I hope it wasn’t Ran Day 😡
Has the Cap'n lost a few lbs. ?
RanDay Send this man a hat for his eagle eye merit badge along with the Captsin’s heartfelt gratitude
