For some reason, RUclips is stopping them from working in the video description box above.) • Unofficial Music Video • HQ Audio - Hi-Res 192 kHz • Subtitles Lyrics Option • Disco In The Snow, 1979 • Standard Volume Level • Lyrics Transcript Provided Below This video contains optional subtitles for the lyrics, and these can be activated and deactivated by simply clicking on the "CC" button beneath the video. This performance is from the BBC and SRG TV special "Disco in the Snow", April 9, 1979. It is being wrongly credited on screen as being from "Snowtime Special", which was not the same show. It was filmed in Switzerland, and the performance features the British dance troupe Geoff Richer's First Edition. The source video I used to create this one is here: ruclips.net/video/MzAXwbunKUM/видео.html That was the best-quality upload featuring this performance I could find online. Curtis never made a promotional video for this single, and as far as I am aware, this is the only performance on video of him lip-syncing to it, so I decided to make an unofficial music video for it using this footage, redubbing it with a high-quality audio track of the single. You can find uploads of a 1972 performance which features this single as the audio track, but that footage was not of a lip-synced performance; it was of a live performance, so the footage does not match the audio at all well. Actually the audio track I have used is one of the album version of the song that I have faded out early, as it was 8 minutes 54 seconds long, because the only "single" version which is currently available to buy as an audio track is shorter than this performance, being only 2 minutes 45 seconds long. The track I have created and used is 3 minutes 33 seconds long. I am using a very high-quality Hi-Res 192.0 kHz audio track, which is higher-quality than a CD, and this was purchased from Qobuz at the following page: www.qobuz.com/gb-en/album/keep-on-keeping-on-studio-albums-1970-74-2019-remaster-curtis-mayfield/e7glubn0jglvc This features the 2019 Remaster version of the track. Please be aware that the audio you hear is not going to be quite as high-quality as the audio on the video I have uploaded, as the process of uploading to RUclips does cause some loss of audio quality. Replacing the audio track involved slowing down the footage slightly, as it was running a bit fast compared to the HQ audio track I am using. The source video was also slightly out-of-sync, with the picture running a bit late compared to the sound, so I have fixed that. I have also lowered the volume level slightly, so that it matches that of the majority of music videos. The performance footage ends before the audio track I am using ends, so to accompany the ending of the song, I have put up on screen three pictures of the single as released in France. I have also upscaled the resolution from 720p to 1080p, as this increases the bitrate, which slightly improves picture quality at all the different resolution settings the viewer can select, but please be aware that playing it at the 1080p setting is not going to make it look as good as a true 1080p video. I have also added optional subtitles for the lyrics. This song was written by Curtis Mayfield. This track was produced by Curtis Mayfield, and was released in 1971. According to Wikipedia, this single reached No. 12 in the UK, and did not chart in his native USA. No other territories are mentioned. I have also made another unofficial music video for this single, which is simply a clip from the 2002 British sports comedy-drama film "Bend It Like Beckham". Presented as a comment below and as optional subtitles in the video is my own transcript of the lyrics, for which I have used the transcripts found on lyrics websites as a guide. I have also referred to a number of live versions of the song to help me figure out the correct lyrics. LYRICS
"Move On Up"
- Curtis Mayfield
(Words and Music by Curtis Mayfield)
Hush now, child
And don't you cry
Your folks might understand ya
By and by
Just move on up
Toward your destination
Though you may find, from time to time
Complication
Bite your lip
And take a trip
Though there may be wet road ahead
And you cannot slip
Just move on up
For peace we'll find
Into the steeple of beautiful people
Where there's only one kind
So hush now, child
And don't you cry
Your folks might understand ya
By and by
Move on up
And keep on wishing
Remember, your dream is your only scheme
So keep on pushing
[Break]
Take nothing less
Than the supreme best
Do not obey rumors people say
That you can pass the test
Just move on up
To a greater day
With just a load of faith, if you put your mind to it
You can surely do it
[Break]
Just move on up
Move on up
But move on up
Watch out but just-a move on up
But move on up
Move on up
