False converts are not believers in Christ who others view as living a poor Christian life. False converts are those who are trusting that Jesus will save them on some basis other than faith in His finish redemptive work.
False converts are those who say I believe in John 3:16 and continue living no different than before, while somehow thinking that a change of lifestyle is trying to do it yourself rather than just claiming to trust in Christ. Paul says Repent of sin and have faith and show evidence of your repentance by your works/lifestyle.
@@2Chronicles714_ You wrote: _"False converts are those who say I believe in John 3:16 and continue living no different than before"_ When you think about it, the phrase _"false convert"_ is an oxymoron, since the phrase _"true convert"_ is a redundancy. I mean, either a guy is a convert, or he is not. So, if he is a convert, then it is true that he is a convert, and you could call him "a true convert", but what's the point of throwing in the superfluous word, "true", when you could have just called him "a convert"? And, if he is not a convert, then, of course, it is false that he is a convert. But why use an oxymoronic phrase like "a false convert", since he is not a convert? Why do that when you can just call him "a non-convert"? Now, regarding John 3:16: either a man is a convert to John 3:16, or he is not. That is, either he believes John 3:16, or he does not believe John 3:16. Now, you spoke of people who say _"I believe John 3:16."_ Perhaps not every person who says _"I believe John 3:16"_ is a person who believes John 3:16. If so, all that means is that some people who say they believe John 3:16 are not converts to John 3:16. Now, of anyone who is not a convert to John 3:16, obviously it is false that he/she is a convert to John 3:16; but why use the oxymoronic phrase, "a false convert", to refer to someone who is not a convert? It is true that a cat is not a dog, and false that a cat is a dog, but would you consider it reasonable to call cats, "false dogs"? No. Why, then, would you think it any more reasonable to call someone of whom it is false that he/she is a convert, "a false convert"? _"...and continue living no different than before"_ Before _what?_ If you are talking about a convert, then do you mean _before conversion?_ And, if you are talking about a non-convert -- someone who has not converted -- then, I especially ask: *Before **_what?_*

I found the Calvanist and works based salvation people in droves online and it was utterly exhausting and confusing. I've had to find my way back to grace through faith recently and am thankful I did because I was mind numbingly tired.
"Mind numbingly tired" indeed . The Lordship Salvation Treadmill never shuts off . Not Knowing one's Everlasting destination is infinitely worse than trying to grasp at Ropes of Sand , or firmly plant one's feet in mid-air ...I better go lay down now😢

No one has turned from their sins. These guys are fruit inspectors who feel the sins the other folks commit are the bad ones. I was in this error where I could convince myself that I was "never really saved" for the most silly little reasons. It is about Him, not us. Keep your eyes on the Savior and not the sinner.
Millions have turned from their sins. Repenting and turning away from sin means a recognition of my sins, which involves Godly sorrow, brokenness and a commitment on my part to change the direction of my life. Repentance is not an emotion. Its more than being grieved or feeling sorry about my sin and even having remorse. God wants the person to make a decision of the heart and mind [the will] to turn away from sin. Your life was going in one direction [sin] and you make a decision by faith to take your life in the opposite direction with His help. It is making a genuine 180° change of heart recognizing that sin(s) is against God. By turning from our sins to God we acknowledge we have disobeyed God. We have violated His law, offended his moral purity, tried to cast off his yoke of authority. It requires that we admit we have turned from God to sin. That is faith. Repent means change your mind about your sinfulled life ALL SINS INCLUDING UNBELIEF, false gods, witchcraft, self righteousness etc. After repentance there must be a genuine change of life because living in sin is disobedience and rebellion against God and the end result will be destruction of the soul in hell. There must be a change in conduct and how you live. You don't have to remember every sin, Jesus knows them all. Confess ongoing sins, and ask for deliverance of them and forgiveness of all sins. Repentance turning from sin - is a prelude to holiness. Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy, without holiness no one will see the Lord. Walking in holiness begins with repentance. We should think about it as a lifetime daily discipline of our faith, necessary for a holy life. Matthew 6:9-14. None of us are sinless.

@alltimeislikethepresent Let me give you a biblical example of what repentance means. The Bible calls on men to repent of their sins and believe the gospel. What does it mean to repent? In Greek it is defined as to change one's mind. It means more than we can conceive in our culture today. To understand the reference of mind in the Bible, it connects with the heart as the very controlling center of the person. It is the control center of emotions, our intellect, and our decision making process. So what Jesus is saying when you have changed your mind, everything else will change, especially your conduct along with it. A perfect description of repentance is the Apostle Paul. When he was on the road to Damascus he had orders to capture christians, Paul believed Jesus of Nazareth was the biggest blasphemer who ever walked the planet, he also thought christians were a terrible sect that ought to be destroyed. That's what he thought, and then on the road to Damascus, he had an encounter with the resurrected Jesus, and what happened? His thinking changed, which caused a changed life. His entire reality was proved to be wrong. Everything he thought about reality, especially with regard to God, was wrong. He recognized he was wrong and began to think completely different, he now thought Jesus was the Son of God the long awaited Messiah and he surrendered to Jesus's Lordship and served Him the rest of his life. Paul should be our example.

Glad that you're open to Truth . Most aren't . Luke 9:62, in the New International Version (NIV), states: "Jesus replied, 'No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.'" This verse is part of Jesus' teachings and emphasizes the commitment required to follow Him. The metaphor of putting a hand to the plow and looking back conveys the idea that discipleship involves steadfast focus and dedication. Those who start following Jesus but then turn back or are preoccupied with what they've left behind are likened to someone unfit for service in the kingdom of God. It underscores the importance of resolute commitment in following Jesus and not being swayed by distractions or attachments to the past.

Thanks, Bob for the clear explanation. Of course, I knew what you were going to say because I've read a number of your books as well as those of other Free Grace Evangelicals. In fact, I wrote my MA thesis titled "An Examination of the Implications for Christian Life and Liberty Stemming from Two Evangelical Views of the Gospel." The two views compared were the Free Grace view and the traditional Reformed view. A summary follows: "A critical point of departure occurs over the content of saving faith and whether saving faith always produces a change that is manifested in a visible expression of spiritual fruit and good works. Evangelicals who advocate for the simple gospel as defined in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 are sometimes accused of preaching a deficient message of “easy-believism” that promotes a libertarian or antinomian lifestyle. Moreover, it is argued, that a gospel lacking a call to turn from sin may result in so-called believers who are not genuinely saved. Advocates of the simple gospel share the concern regarding the decline of moral behavior in the body of Christ. However, they do not agree that adding subjective conditions to the gospel will provide the needed remedy, nor will leading believers to continually question the authenticity of their faith by gauging their behavior against specific values or standards. These schemes may lead to debilitating doubts and spiritual defeat. A gospel message that incorporates subjective elements that provide little or no assurance can scarcely be called good news. A different, but similarly undesirable consequence may emerge from this. Upon successfully conquering some major sin in his life, a new believer, may not come to see how lesser sins, even very minor ones, will hamper the working of the Holy Spirit in his life and thus delay and diminish his spiritual growth. His Christian walk will be characterized by mediocrity."
Telling people that they don't need to know who Jesus is or what he did and that we only need to believe in a promise can create a false convert. Just saying because the fact that you think that you don't need to preach the sacrifice for sins is just as false as their lordship salvation. It's 2 heads of a false coin.

He was more than a little disdainful of that course of action. I appreciate your work in overturning the tables of these money-changers.
No, it's obvious The dog going back to the vomit was a man going back to his sin. Has nothing to do with going back to the law. It wasn't Paul speaking, it was Peter
Well, it’s good to know that, like Paul, we can “fight the good fight” and “finish” the race without works. I’m also thrilled with the idea that we can be faithful “servants” without the expectation of doing our due diligence. This is indeed freeing!

It can be missed, you need to listen to them carefully, especially when they are out to "preach". They put emphasis on "turn away from sins" - because they do not understand the word "repent". And by doing so they add a necessity of working for the grace of God on our part - but you cannot work for Grace, you are given grace as a gift, through faith. Not of works, so no man may boast. Ray Comfort and Calvinists like Todd Friel, Paul Washer, Macarthur etc. - all they do is make people doubt their salvation and the result is trembling, fear, confusion and lack of assurance. They make people focus on the imperfect self that can never be perfect before receiving a glorified body in the resurrection. We need to put all our focus on the Holy One, who is Christ Jesus our Lord in whose name alone there is salvation and Eternal Life.

Salvation is by turning away from the works of the law as means for salvation to Christ or from Idols to Christ, or from atheism to Christ, from work salvation to Christ etc. It does not mean to turn away from sins. Turning away from sins - if it happens by true change of the inner man, rather than being motivated by fear of punishment or seeking of reward or seeking to "convince ourselves that our faith is true" - as Calvinists do - is the work of Salvation, and not required for Salvation. And that's what is important here. The Gospel of can be preached to a man who has committed many murders in his life and before he gets executed he can hear the Good News of God - if he believes and trusts fully in Jesus Christ, he will be saved. Fruit inspectors are self righteous hypocrites who would do well to preach the true Gospel and focus on their own sins, rather than preaching work salvation - which is what they do.

Just because you say your a Christian doesn't really hold water, but being Obedient to Gods commands, shows evidence that your truly saved, Jesus also said you must deny yourself and pick up your cross And fallow me. Faith without works is dead.
@bradmccoy7996. Blanket statements like that are like never and always. The thief on the cross was saved by faith without a single fruit of any kind being visible. Foxhole conversions don’t show works, neither do deathbed conversions. But they occur and are real faith.
In the passage that says “ you will know them by their fruits” who is Jesus speaking about… read the context. Taking up your cross and following Christ is discipleship, it’s a daily process of being conformed into Christ’s image. Putting off the flesh and following after the spirit, this is not salvation. Faith without works is dead, meaning it’s unprofitable and of no use to others. Doesn’t mean faith without works isn’t faith, otherwise the verse wouldn’t make any sense at all, James would say “ Faith without works doesn’t exist” but he doesn’t, he knows it does happen which is why he is encouraging believers to add to their faith. We are saved by grace through faith apart from works ( faith alone), but we will not be profitable if our faith does not produce works.

We are in this body of death, corrupted, and imperfect as we are the Christian is just the best of a bad lot. We strive daily to live in odedience to Christ and there lies the difference. A relationship with Christ is a daily walk with him by reading His word, prayer, witnessing to name a few. We grow in grace and knowledge of our Savior the more we get the word of God in us. We are saved by the word of God 1 Peter 1;23. Who in their right mind would want to become a Christian just to continue sinning freely? When I was an atheist, I sinned without feeling bad. Now I still sin but feel bad about it. So it's absurd to claim people become Christian just to keep sinning as Comfort and Friel claim. They mix salvation in with discipleship. Salvation is free. So the apostle Paul was giving Satan freedom to afflict the body by following the process of church discipline. The ultimate end could be the stepson's death if necessary. That his body might be shook, buffeted, afflicted, and tortured in a terrible manner; that by this means he might be brought to a sense of his sin, to repentance for it, and make an humble acknowledgment of it: that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus; that he might be renewed in the spirit of his mind, be restored by repentance, and his soul be saved in the day of Christ; either at death, when soul and body would be separated, or at the day of the resurrection, when both should be reunited; for the flesh here means, not the corruption of nature, in opposition to the spirit, as a principle of grace, but the body, in distinction from the soul: nor was the soul of this man, only his body, delivered for a time unto satan; the end of which was, that his soul might be saved, (which could never be done by delivering it up to satan).

@@apostolicapologetics4829 Is “Continuous” Believing Required for the New Birth? May 1, 2021 by GES Webmaster in Grace in Focus Articles By Steve Elkins I really enjoyed Dan Wallace when I had him for Greek grammar. I thought he was one of the best teachers at my seminary. But presently I’m grieved that his Greek Grammar: Beyond the Basics has won the day in Evangelical schools and carries such great influence over preachers and teachers. In writing about the substantival present participle (which is simply a present participle with the article and acts as a noun), he correctly points out that the aspect of the tense is diminished. Aspect means the progress, result, or simple occurrence of something. All the grammars say this, including that the tense becomes gnomic (i.e., timeless). In other words, the substantival participle is not stating something is happening, just that it has happened. Other grammars (e.g., Robertson) point out that the emphasis (via the article) is now placed on the noun it has become or the person the verb is modifying. The Believer and the Baptist For instance, concerning the present participles in John 3:16, the emphasis is not at all on the continual nature of belief, but gnomically, that this person has believed. Therefore, the emphasis now is on “what happens” to such a person: he or she will never “perish, but has eternal life.” Thus, the participle functions as a noun: the one who believes could be translated the believer. See, for example, John the Baptist. In Mark 6:14 we read, Iōannēs ho baptizōn. That is the name John and the present participle of baptizō. It could be translated as John the one who baptizes; John the one who baptized; John the baptizer; or, as nearly all English translations render it, simply John the Baptist. This verse illustrates the point well since John was already dead, having been beheaded by Herod. He was not baptizing anyone anymore. But he was still John the Baptist. Wallace correctly discusses, Thus, for example, in Matt 5:28, “everyone who looks at a woman (pas ho blepōn…)…does not mean “continually looking” or “habitually looking” any more than four verses later “everyone who divorces his wife” (pas ho apolūōn…) means “repeatedly divorces”! (Greek Grammar, p. 616, emphasis added). Thus, for example, ho baptizōn in Mark 1:4 does not mean one who “continually baptizes” but simply “the baptizer” (Greek Grammar, p. 620, emphasis added). So far, Wallace is agreeing with all the Greek grammars, but then he says something odd, because it’s so contradictory to his point later, Secondly, many substantival participles in the NT are used in generic utterances…As such it is expected to involve a gnomic idea. [ed. gnomic= a timeless fact. It does not say that something is happening, but that something does happen.] Most of these instances involve the present participle. But, if they are already gnomic, we would be hard-pressed to make something more out of them-such as a progressive idea” (Greek Grammar, pp. 615-16, emphasis added). Shockingly, while he admits he’s “hard-pressed” to find the progressive/continuous idea, that’s just what he proceeds to do! In an extreme case of special pleading, with no support at all, Wallace departs from what all grammars say and argues that the substantival participle of John 3:16 is a special category all to itself. The idea seems to be both gnomic and continual: “everyone who continually believes.” This is not due to the present tense only, but to the use of the present participle of pisteuō, especially in soteriological texts of the NT (Greek Grammar, pp. 620-21, emphasis added). I said above that Wallace has no support because, as is usual from fellows of this persuasion, they offer non-validated proof-texts, of which the briefest glance shows them to argue not for, but against their points (e.g., footnote 22, p. 621. I scratch my head at how such a brilliant guy can say these things). John 3:16 and the Condition of Eternal Salvation Earlier in his book, Wallace listed the present participle of pisteuō in John 3:16 as an example of what’s often called a “continual present” (which Wallace classifies as a “Customary [Habitual or General] Present,” Greek Grammar, p. 521). In this Gospel there seems to be a qualitative distinction between the ongoing act of believing and the simple fact of believing (Greek Grammar, p. 522, emphasis added). But no support is given at all for that statement. Rather, Wallace commits what Barr, Nida and others call the “tense fallacy.” On the contrary, any study of John shows just the opposite. There’s no argument for ongoing belief. Rather, emphasis is placed on the simple fact of belief. Among other arguments are these: The metaphors-all emphasizing a single “act” of belief: receive, look, drink, come, eat, hear, (and these non-metaphors: instant life and being raised from the dead). The instantaneous nature of regeneration- one act causing irreversible new birth. The interchangeable aorist tense (36 times). Here are just some of the aorists in John. All are interchangeable with the present tense: • 2:11: “and His disciples believed in Him…” • 2:23: “Many believed in His name…” • 4:39, 41: “the Samaritans believed… and many more believed…” • 7:31: “the people believed in Him…” • 8:30: “and many believed in Him…” • 9:18: “the Jews did not believe..” • 10:42: “many believed in Him…” • 11:45: “many of the Jews…believed in Him.” • 12:42: “many rulers believed in Him…” This presentation was already complete before I read Bob Wilkin’s wonderful article, “Is Continuous Drinking Required for Eternal Life?” In it he states, Let’s say ho pinōn (a present substantival participle) means, as Wallace suggests, “everyone who continuously drinks” (p. 621), and thus it takes continuous believing to be born again…When would a person fulfill that requirement? At a moment in time? Certainly not… After a day of continuous drinking? Nope. After a year? A decade? Five decades? No. If a person ever stopped drinking prior to death he would not fulfill the requirement of continuous drinking. So, if what Wallace is saying is true, a person is not born again unless he continues in faith until death. This leads to tough questions. How can you have assurance before death that you are born again? What if a believer were to go through a time of doubt? Is he unregenerate in Wallace’s understanding? What about a person who has a mental condition that causes him to stop (believing), like paranoid schizophrenia, OCD, or Alzheimer’s?… At the very moment of faith a person is born again once and for all. That is the message of John 3:16; 5:24; 6:35; 11:25-27. At the moment of faith a person “has passed from death into life” (John 5:24). Paul says, “By grace you have been saved…”-a done deal…(Wilkin, “Continuous Drinking,” emphasis added). Scholars Can Be Biased Wallace is a scholar. He’s also irenic, saying nice things about Zane Hodges in a blog upon his death. But he’s biased. Look no further than his cover endorsement of Wayne Grudem’s treatise against Free Grace: “This book is…rock solid in its penetrating insights regarding the Free Grace Movement.” Interesting, since so much of Grudem’s book is against the positions held by Dr. Chafer and the founders of the seminary at which Wallace teaches. It seems he’s more comfortable with John MacArthur, J.I. Packer, and Thomas Schreiner (fellow endorsers), who have little in common with Chafer, Ryrie, and Hodges, concerning the gospel. Twisting Greek grammar, in this case, is tantamount to twisting the Scriptures. Wallace seeks to make the Scriptures fit with his theology-rather than vice versa. If one didn’t know he was so sincere, it would seem an obvious act of subterfuge.
@@apostolicapologetics4829 The One Who Believes: Is Continuous Faith Required to be Born Again? January 1, 2006 by Bob Wilkin in Grace in Focus Articles One argument I hear a lot is that since the Scriptures often refer to believing in Jesus using the present tense, this means that only those who endure in faith in Christ until death “truly believe.” Often the present articular participle is cited. That is the expression ho pisteuōn in Greek. It means the one who believes, the believer, or the believing one. Dr. Dan Wallace certainly adds some fuel to the fire when he says in his Greek grammar: The aspectual force of the present ho pisteuōn seems to be in contrast with ho pisteusas. The aorist is used only eight times (plus two in the longer ending of Mark). Thus, it seems that since the aorist participle was a live option to describe a “believer,” it is unlikely that when the present was used, it was aspectually flat. The present was the tense of choice most likely because the NT writers by and large saw continual belief as a necessary condition of salvation. Along these lines, it seems significant that the promise of salvation is almost always given to ho pisteuōn, almost never to ho pisteusas (apart from Mark 16:16 , John 7:39 and Heb 4:3 come the closest [the present tense of pisteuō never occurs in Hebrews]).1 I find the suggestion that “continual belief [is] a necessary condition of salvation” unbelievable. The evidence is overwhelmingly against it. The Evidence from John 4:13-15: Ho Pinōn Equals Ho Pisteuōn When Jesus evangelized the woman at the well, He used the figure of living water to refer to the saving message and the figure of drinking to refer to believing that message. In v 13 Jesus used a present articular participle, ho pinōn, the one who drinks, as a clear figure for ho pisteuōn, the one who believes. Using Wallace’s reasoning, ho pinōn must refer to a lifetime of drinking.2 Yet Jesus specifically contradicts this, and the woman shows that she understands Him to be speaking of gaining the benefit the very moment one drinks. “‘Whoever drinks [ho pinōn] of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.’ “The woman said to Him, ‘Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.’” Jesus doesn’t rebuke her understanding on the permanence of the gift. She understood Him correctly. One drink would quench her thirst forever. She would be eternally secure that very moment. What He corrected was her mistaken notion that He was speaking literally of drinking physical water.
@@apostolicapologetics4829 (Continued: Dr. Wilkin) The Evidence from John 6:35: Ho Erchomenōs Equals Ho Pisteuōn There is a clear verbal tie between John 4:13-15 and John 6:35. The one who drinks (ho pinōn) the water of life will never thirst again (4:14). Likewise, the one who believes (ho pisteuōn) in Jesus will never thirst again (6:35). Unmistakably ho pisteuōn and ho pinōn are parallel. Also in John 6:35 is ho erchomenos, the one who comes. The one who comes to Jesus “shall never hunger.” Clearly, as the bread of life, Jesus promises that the one who eats that bread, that is, the one who believes in Him, will never hunger again. Wallace’s understanding of ho pisteuōn is impossible in light of John 4:13-15 and John 6:35. It appears that he has let theological bias lead him to make a statement that is not grammatically correct. The Evidence from John 11:26: Ho Zōn and Ho Pisteuōn Are Co-Conditions As “the life,” Jesus promises Martha, “Whoever lives [ho zōn] and believes [ho pisteuōn] in Me shall never die” (John 11:26a). If we carried Wallace’s understanding of present participles to this verse, we would understand that anyone who ever ceased living, that is, anyone who physically died, would die spiritually. The only ones who would have everlasting life and hence, never die spiritually, would be those who 1) continuously live, and 2) continuously believe. Yet in the preceding verse Jesus said that believers do cease living. That is, they die physically. Thus, ho zōn cannot mean, “the one who keeps on living.” Nor can ho pisteuōn mean “the one who keeps on believing.” Of course, Jesus explicitly stated that a believer’s faith can cease. He did so in the parable of the four soils. A comparison of Luke 8:12 8:13 makes this clear. The second soil believed for a time. Then it stopped believing. Yet the seed, which is the saving message, clearly germinated in this soil, for Jesus said that “it sprang up” (Luke 8:6). John 11:26 shows that all who simply believe in Jesus for everlasting life while they are yet alive will never die. If the person’s physical life or faith dies, the promise remains true. The moment a person believes in Jesus, he’s eternally secure.
🇻🇳 I received some useful information from you. Thank you.And I would like to respond- Firstly, it's about the context of the question. This is a question about the church and those church members who have bad or wrong lifestyles. I think as you mentioned the Gospels Ray did not speak. Likewise, the lives of believers are not mentioned in the books you mentioned. That is, the subject of the question is answered with an opinion answer for the unbeliever (which Ray practices regularly). And you are the answer of faith pointing to Jesus. I think at each stage, you and Ray are each being called by God to your goals. And he and you both have a target audience for communication. I don't have a problem with faith, nor do I have a problem with being a carnal Christian. I am reminded and learn from both, and I don't see any contradiction.
I’m so thankful for the ministry of GES and also of Zane Hodges. I was at my wits end in the early 90’s and had almost given up because most evangelicals spouted off cliches that denied the faith alone message… They would say they believed it and then turn around and preach works salvation. I was so thankful to discover grace In eclipse by Zane Hodges and I quickly realized I wasn’t alone when it came to the clarity of the gospel. Thank you Bob for your boldness.
Ray Comfort claims that he never willfully sinned after becoming saved. I was taught that all sin is willful. He thinks that his sinning is accidental He therefore thinks that he is sinlessly perfect. He ALWAYS assumes that every single person that he preaches to at the. What if you fall away from genuine faith in Christ's finished work on the cross and then join the Church of Satan? in direct opposition to the God of the bible, Is that person still saved upon death? The free grace position has its problems like the Lordship position. I affirm neither.
If you believe something it will be evident in your life. If I say I love my wife but I beat her, slander, cuss at her and cheat on her. Would you say I love her. So if I say I'm a Christian and don't resemble anything like Bible describes a Christian with the gifs of the spirit. Would you warn that person. Yes, Paul did it and we are commanded to do it. We are snatching them from the fire. Maybe they will repent. Ever since I was delivered God has put it on my heart that you must be born again. There is a dramatic change that happens in a persons life when we meet God. It's like getting struck by lightning. I was saved at about 4 am February 21 of21. I think about that night every day of when I met Jesus. I thought I believed .y whole life when I Jesus into my heart when I was seven. But I wasn't I was living for myself and for the world. Not God.
Tell us more, pfister: How you never disobey God, how you never postpone a good deed because you are tired or a bit lazy. Tell us more, how you never sin. Forget your wife and think of your parents. Do you love them? Have you ever griefed them or disobeyed? Of course you have. It is equal in our relation to our Lord - even if were are saved. I for once have my sincere doubts that these two (at least one of them is a Calvinist) are born again to start with. For they trust in their works and preach a false Gospel. And Friedel goes around saying: God loves me! But he does not love you! For this is exactly what Calvinists believe.
Discipleship of Lk9:62 is made very clear if they would understand Lk14: Jesus' deters them away from discipleship! 'Count the costs' because there is a better way than discipleship that Jesus wants, 'Christ in you'. Why follow when you can abide in?
When scripture speaks about 'do not be like the world' look at the context and you'll see that the world scripture is referring to is the dead religious world of those working their human effort to please God, not the secular world that the wolves pretend to not be like.
When we read Isa64:6, we realise that men's efforts to prove themselves with their law-keeping righteousness is disgusting to God. So the vomit & the mire here indicate the return of man to prove himself with his law-keeping righteous works.
I have to say, of those who would hold to Lordship salvation (which I do) do not believe “works” saves you, but will exhibit the fruit of saving faith. There should be a radical, supernatural change that takes place in the believers life. This work of the Holy Spirit is a miracle for all who come to saving faith in Christ and the Holy Spirit continues His sanctifying work in the believer, growing them holiness. Jesus said, “the gate is narrow and the path is hard that leads to life and those who find it are few.” He says also, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” Jesus did not suffer and die so we can have our best life now; so we can live how ever we like just so long as we accept him, that He died to save us and I believe, if Christ’s apostles were here today, they’d say the same or similar. My challenge would be: to have a Ray and/or Todd on your podcast in person to cover this topic of Lordship salvation. I appreciate the video, though I respectfully disagree.

Bob, assuming that you believe that there is such a thing as a false convert, what would be your explanation of what that actually is? Scripture references, if you have them. This a question that I have yet to hear someone from the antinomianism side answer.
lol antinomian side… so literally St. Paul. Anyway… a false convert is someone who hasn’t renounced works salvation or denies Christs deity… these are the two camps of people addressed by the Goepels and the Epistles. In the Gosprls we have the Pharisees who Jesus took great lengths to show they weren’t justified by their adherence to the law and that they fell short in reality and in the epistles we have the gnostics being addressed, they denied Jesus was a man, that sin is a thing etc

I have really enjoyed Ray Comfort’s videos, but he does seem to miss the mark on some points. When i was younger, with less life experience, i would have definitely been in the lordship camp, however the more years i live the more i realise how bad my actions are at the core. If it’s not grace, there is no chance i will be acceptable. I have had seasons of steadfastness and dedication, and other of struggling with sin greatly. If Jesus doesn’t ultimately save me, i will never make it.
How is Ray extreme? He is doing what Jesus told us to do? Are you Bob? Are you a good person? You are picking apart a Godly man and doing videos against Christians. @ZandJ12345 this is dangerous teaching, brother. If we are wrong and you are right, we will still be saved, and even be rewarded greatly. Why? @@grizz4489 I saw this video of Bob's, and I can say that his explanation is way oversimplified and doesn't really nail the meaning of what the term "lordship salvation" actually is. Like the detractors who created that term, (it was not created by John MacArthur), Bob explains it in a way that appears to say that, CHRIST'S LORDSHIP is "required" in order to be saved! Nothing could be further from the truth. What the LORDSHIP OF CHRIST IN SALVATION actually means, is that the fruit of salvation results in CHRIST being viewed as LORD over every aspect of our walk. Yes we sin from time to time, however, we don't just shrug our shoulders and take sin lightly. We should display an immediate response of CONFESSION and repentance, knowing that we have HIS forgiveness, as promised in 1 John 1:9, and 1 John2:1, and continue on in our sanctification. Along the way over time, we should see a progression of sinning less. Adhering to the scriptures in an attitude of seriousness is not likened to "works" salvation. It is the natural growth pattern of a committed believer, (Romans 12:1). JESUS said in John 14:15, "If you love ME, you will keep my commandments", (see also:1John 2:3-6)!" This is not about earning salvation, but the reasonable display of behavior of the regenerate person who is growing in sanctification. Bob appears to have a very antinomian view of salvation, but I don't believe he is quite understanding of the topic, going by the explanation that I saw from him. Our assurance of salvation is what JESUS completed on the cross, however, watching HIM change our lives in the most miraculous way and having it displayed by an ever growing love for HIM along with a desire to see HIM glorified in our lives, by our obedience, simply gives credence to that assurance. Please Bob, don't join the toxic RUclips culture of calling out each others error's, as much as understanding what false doctrine is I do think it's wrong the way pastors & RUclipsrs are using RUclips. We're behaving exactly like the world, we've now got "discernment ministries" which literally mock other Believer's and call it doing God's work. Your content from 10 years ago was brilliant, that's how I found your teaching after being burdened with reformed theology, why can't you call out bad doctrine, by showing us how scripture is interpreted wrong?
Salvation for Comfort is Jesus throwing him out a lifeline and slowly drawing it back while Comfort moves forward trying to grasp it but it's always out of reach. In the end he'll have made it to the shore not because of Jesus but because of his striving to hold onto the lifeline.
Bob thank you for your helpful teachings. I have a question for you if you're even able to answer. Many people who teach the same as you, say that people like Todd and Ray and others are going to hell because they are teaching a false gospel and i think Paul even says let anyone preaching a different gospel be accursed. Wondering what your thoughts are on that? Me personally, i dont think i can make such a bold claim but obviously they believe in Jesus so i would guess and hope they are saved as well.
You are incorrect. Being a Christian for 50 years, I think my experience should give me some perspective. You are criticizing a good ambassador of Christ. You can put out a snippet of anyone and falsely accuse them of not following the gospel. JMHO.
Is some of what you've said contradictory to your own statements/belief? You stated, "By faith in Christ, a person is saved once & for all" & also say, ""We have that gift, we have e/lasting life & we continue to know we have that gift, as long as we *=====>* continue to believe the promise." So, if a person comes to the place where they NO LONGER BELIEVE the promise(s) of God as it relates to e/lasting life, by that statement above, they lose it/forfeit it or however you want to term it? Based on what you've said, if they denounce their faith, they no longer have it, right?
What's ironic is that it's guys like Ray and Todd who are like dogs going back to the vomit - they're trying to go back to the law and be justified by a self-righteousness, by their own "turning from sins" and ceasing from this or that vague amount of wrongdoing, their own living rightly instead. Their own behaviour, their own works and deeds. How complicated is "not by works of righteousness which we have done"? How hard is it to understand "Blessed is that man unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works"? Ray, stop trying to muster up some certain "kind" of faith to save you, just PUT all your faith in the SAVING ONE.
FYI for everybody watching. Repenting of your sins does NOT mean to stop sinning. It means to change your mind toward sin. You will STILL sin at times even after becoming a believer because your flesh is corrupt from the fall of Adam and Eve. False converts are those that never got saved. Salvation is a once in a lifetime event; those that believe the gospel gain eternal life at that moment and it cannot be lost. Period.
@@2Chronicles714_ What do you mean why? Lucifer (Satan) was the very first rebel to exist. He led one third of the angels against God. He hates us because we are in God's image. He wants us to reject God. Although believers will still succumb to temptation and sin, we do not lose our salvation though. God handles believers differently when we sin, compared to non-believers. God chastens believers, and He also let's Satan tempt believers. God even let's Satan destroy believers for certain reasons (Look at Job and what God let Satan do to him; Job was a believer and never lost faith despite God allowing Satan to make job suffer immensely)
You need to study the word repent and thrn you’ll divide the word properly. You’ve been conditioned to hear repent of sin when ever you read repent. It simply means change mind and the context needs to inform of what.
@haydenbray1952 What is the one that God wants you to change your mind about? The only thing that will keep you eternally separated from God. Sin. Certainly, we can all agree that this definition rightly divides Gods meaning; Repenting and turning away from sin means a recognition of my sins, which involves Godly sorrow, brokenness and a commitment on my part to change the direction of my life. We should think about it as a lifetime daily discipline of our faith, necessary for a holy life as Jesus says in Matthew 6:9-14. None of us are sinless.
Don't you love it when teachers try to support a works-based salvation method by *interpreting* parables and allegories in a way that contravenes the *clear direct statements* of scripture that say justification and righteousness before God is by faith on Christ *without works?* Ray Comfort seems to be quite self-righteous, much in the way of the Pharisee in Luke 18.
This is what they preach. Galatians 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 2 Corinthians 5 15,17 And he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

it does day God is the judge of all (abraham called God this before He sent angels to investigate sodom and gomorrah) and it does say God is not mocked, those who sow to the flesh will of the flesh reap corruption that said, the more i read the bible, it does seem like there is some work/effort involved. We are saved by grace, through faith, our works alone cannot save us. If Jesus had not come, no amount of our 'good' deeds coild ever help us get to heaven. However, if you look at the Lord Lord scriptures, it appears that isnt enougj to just "call" God and Jesus our God and Lord, but faith without works is dead. Salvation technically only comes through what Jesus did, but it seems to be seen as acceptable and chosen by God, theres an element of doing the Father's will, being known by God, not practicing lawlessness (which seems to say not regularly committing sin, but then also not hyoer grace, that is not just doing what many ppl do, merely say a prayer and then go about living their own lives, sinning, and doing their own thing. That also might be lawlessness (refusing God's law and rule over your life)) the fear of the Lord is the beginning kf wisdom, jesus gave a very serious picture of how we should be tresting sin. Hebrrws says we are not to be regularly sinning otherwise there no longer remains a sacrifice for sin. Unforgiveness looks like it can also stop salvation, see parable of great debtor, and the Lords prayer. Parable of wise and foolish virgins, half were ready/wise/prudent, the other half were foolish/unprepared and look to have been left behind doers of the word, not merely hearers who deceive themselves. Faith requires action, i see it like, its belief in something enough that it actually changes how you live. Everyone knows its good to exercise and eat healthy, that knowledge is useless if it is not applied God will one day separate sheep and goats, the qualifier being our actions. If anyrhing, that shows you some of what God really cares about. Post Jesus, the Revelations churches, God speaks correction over them. A fair bit of the nt is speaking correction to believers. Paul turned one man/believer who was committing atrocious sexual sin, "over to satan", why? That his soul might be saved. Implying it could hace been lost/unsaved had he continued in sin. True repentance isn't just saying sorry for sin, it's changing your thinking, turning away from sin/evil, and towards God and the things of God (not remaining in or making a habit/practice of sin/lawlessness, it seems). To say, its a fallacy to think we're immediately perfect on salvation, or that its OSAS once saved always saved. Otherwise, you have to explain how the Lord Lord scriptures can be explained. Many will say on that day...i never knew you, depart from Me many churches preach a hyper grace message, implying kr claiming God doesnt care about how we live or act post being saved. This is wrong, did lying, stealing, killing, idol worship suddenly "become ok" or good to do, post Jesus? No! While Jesus paid the price, it doesnt change the fact that sin is why Jesus chose to come and die for us, and that God hates sin (bc it hurts ourselves and others, and God loves and wants the best for us). To regularly commit or be in or practice sin is part of tbe Lord Lord scriptures and the ppl God rejects. The begjnnjng of wisdom is to fear the Lord (not be afraid of, but have a holy reverence and healtht respect of God), which is to hate evil. In 1John i believe it says let no one deceive you, the one who practices righteousness is righteous, the one who practices evil is of the devil. We're called not to make converts, but to make disciples. The disciples sat and learned at Jesus' feet for 3 years, and a disciples goal is to be like their master in word, deed, action, thought. Every christians goal should be to be like Jesus. Jesus said not my will, but Yours be done, modeling how our goal is to do Father God's will. Though it is relational, see mary vs martha, spending time w God is better than just doing stuff for God. And yet, how did Jesus model it? He woke up early mornings to pray, but then He didnt stay in the prayer closet, He went into the world and went about doing good. is how it looks the more i read scripture. I suggest you look and research on your own wht the bible, and what Jesus said about it, and pray about it. Salvation is by what Jesus did, but to have that salvation it appears we must forgive and not harbor unforgiveness, and there is action/effort involved in truly making Jesus our God in reality/action, not just in name or word. As God leads, respond, trust, obey Jesus says why do you call me Lord and not do what i say? Whom does Jesus then say is a wise versus foolish man? many are called, few are chosen. narrow is the path. Jesus forgave the woman caught in adultery, but then said ' go and sin no more'. Jesus said to pharisees, the true sons of abraham are not just those who physically descended from him, but if you are sons of abraham, do the deeds of abraham. Abraham believed God, but he also obeyed when God spoke as shown by his willingness to give up Isaac. Hebrews or James list other heroes of the faith and how actions accompanied/showed/proved their faith, or showed their internal reality/heart was changed by producing good fruit. To do this we need to abide, remain, live in God, and remain in His word. Without God we are like a dead branch on the ground. Jesus is the tree, if we are connected, we can produce much fruit, which can last. Study the bible for yourself, listen to the prompting you get/feel. Compare with scripture to ensure its God speaking, and not jsut your own thought or the devil trying to mess with you (discernment). Dont just take my word for it, read scripture for yourself and verify or disprove it
We can't stop sinning first, but we absolutely have to make a decision to change our minds (repent) about our sinfulled lifes, to turn away from sin and turn to live for and serve Jesus.

@2Chronicles714_ so, God promises everlasting life to me if I promise (i.e. commit) to change the direction of my life? An exchange of promises like this is a CONTRACT, and if what you say is true, then everlasting life would not be a GIFT to be freely given and freely received but rather it would be CONSIDERATION, to which I would be entilted as a promising party. What happens if I fail to keep my promise? Does God get to rescind the consideration that He offered (i.e. everlasting life)?
There are some good bible study methods. It seems that one of the more popular ones is what i call the " cancel out bible study method ." It goes like this... John 3:16 is no longer true because James 2 :14 cancels it out. Acts 16:31 is not true because Mark 1:15 cancels it out. Ephesians 2:8,9 is canceled out by Hebrews 10:26,27. And so on and so on...... I guess there are many who do not know what a contradiction is. This just baffles my mind.
@@2Chronicles714_ You wrote: _"False converts are those who say I believe in John 3:16 and continue living no different than before"_
When you think about it, the phrase _"false convert"_ is an oxymoron, since the phrase _"true convert"_ is a redundancy.
_"...and continue living no different than before"_
Before _what?_ If you are talking about a convert, then do you mean _before conversion?_ And, if you are talking about a non-convert -- someone who has not converted -- then, I especially ask: *Before **_what?_*

Repent means change your mind about your sinfulled life ALL SINS INCLUDING UNBELIEF,
false gods,
witchcraft,
self righteousness etc.
After repentance there must
be a genuine change of life because living in sin is disobedience and rebellion against God and the end result will be
destruction of the soul in hell.
There must be a change in conduct and how you live.
You don't have to remember every sin, Jesus knows them all. Confess ongoing sins, and ask for deliverance of them and forgiveness of all sins.
Repentance turning from sin - is a prelude to holiness.
Hebrews 12:14
Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy, without holiness no one will see the Lord.
Walking in holiness begins with repentance. We should think about it as a lifetime daily discipline of our faith,
necessary for a holy life. Matthew 6:9-14.
None of us are sinless.

Now, is that two decisions: 1) _"a decision of the heart",_ and 2) _"a decision of the mind"?_ Or, is that only one decision, a decision of the heart/mind (since the heart is the mind/the mind is the heart)?
And, by your phrase, _"to make a decision",_ what do you mean if not _to believe some particular truth?_

Interesting. So, you do not use the word "repentance" and your phrase "a genuine change of life" interchangeably, it seems. Otherwise, what you said, there, would be: _"After repentance there must be [repentance]"_ / _"After [a genuine change of life] there must be a genuine change of life"._ Which, of course, would be kind of an odd thing for you to say, no?

Is not _"make a decision"_ simply a synonym for _"believe"?_ So that, what you are saying, here, is: _"you [believe] by faith"?_ But, since faith is nothing more or less than believing, it seems all you are saying by _"you make a decision by faith"_ is that _"you [believe] by [believing]"._
@alltimeislikethepresent
Let me give you a biblical example of what repentance means.
His thinking changed, which caused a
changed life. His entire reality was proved to be wrong. Everything he thought about reality, especially with regard to God, was wrong. He recognized he was wrong and began to think completely different, he now thought Jesus was the Son of God the long awaited Messiah and
he surrendered to Jesus's Lordship and served Him the rest of his life.
Paul should be our example.

What you gave me is a mass of text which you choose to call _"a biblical example of what repentance means"._ It's clear that what you want to do is merely to recite stuff you've trained yourself to recite, rather than to try to think analytically about what you've trained yourself to recite. This process is different for everyone. Some progress faster than others, but all progress. Even if Ray and Todd are right, it is not the believer's behavior that sanctifies him, but God's continued grace. Glad that you're open to Truth . Most aren't .

Their entire scheme reduces to a never Knowing of one's Everlasting destination based upon one's purely fallible "fruit" ...a completely non quantifiable level of hopefully good enough behavioral performance (works) .
The opposite of faith in Him FOR His free gift of Everlasting Life:
John 1:12-13,3:1-18,4:10-14,5:24,6:47,11:23-27,20:31 ; Acts 16:31 ; 1 Timothy 1:16 ; Galatians 2:16 .
Luke 9:62, in the New International Version (NIV), states: "Jesus replied, 'No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.'"
This verse is part of Jesus' teachings and emphasizes the commitment required to follow Him.

Only those who teach against repentance are leading people to hell.
A summary follows:
"A critical point of departure occurs over the content of saving faith and whether saving faith always produces a change that is manifested in a visible expression of spiritual fruit and good works.
For by grace are ye saved through faith and that is not of our self. It is the Gift of God. And not of works. Lest anyone may boast. 🙌
Telling people that they don't need to know who Jesus is or what he did and that we only need to believe in a promise can create a false convert. Just saying because the fact that you think that you don't need to preach the sacrifice for sins is just as false as their lordship salvation. It's 2 heads of a false coin.
Good video, very clear and easy to understand …thanks for posting 😊

He was more than a little disdainful of that course of action. I appreciate your work in overturning the tables of these money-changers.
No, it's obvious The dog going back to the vomit was a man going back to his sin. Has nothing to do with going back to the law. It wasn't Paul speaking, it was Peter
Well, it’s good to know that, like Paul, we can “fight the good fight” and “finish” the race without works. I’m also thrilled with the idea that we can be faithful “servants” without the expectation of doing our due diligence. This is indeed freeing!

I'm not a smart man; I don't really understand how this is any different than what the people you're criticizing said.

Is “Continuous” Believing Required for the New Birth?
May 1, 2021 by GES Webmaster in Grace in Focus Articles
By Steve Elkins
I really enjoyed Dan Wallace when I had him for Greek grammar.
The Believer and the Baptist
For instance, concerning the present participles in John 3:16, the emphasis is not at all on the continual nature of belief, but gnomically, that this person has believed. Therefore, the emphasis now is on “what happens” to such a person: he or she will never “perish, but has eternal life.”
Thus, the participle functions as a noun: the one who believes could be translated the believer.
Wallace correctly discusses,
Thus, for example, in Matt 5:28, “everyone who looks at a woman (pas ho blepōn…)…does not mean “continually looking” or “habitually looking” any more than four verses later “everyone who divorces his wife” (pas ho apolūōn…) means “repeatedly divorces”! (Greek Grammar, p. 616, emphasis added).
Thus, for example, ho baptizōn in Mark 1:4 does not mean one who “continually baptizes” but simply “the baptizer” (Greek Grammar, p. 620, emphasis added).
So far, Wallace is agreeing with all the Greek grammars, but then he says something odd, because it’s so contradictory to his point later,
Secondly, many substantival participles in the NT are used in generic utterances…As such it is expected to involve a gnomic idea. [ed. gnomic= a timeless fact.
John 3:16 and the Condition of Eternal Salvation
Earlier in his book, Wallace listed the present participle of pisteuō in John 3:16 as an example of what’s often called a “continual present” (which Wallace classifies as a “Customary [Habitual or General] Present,” Greek Grammar, p.
Among other arguments are these:
The metaphors-all emphasizing a single “act” of belief: receive, look, drink, come, eat, hear, (and these non-metaphors: instant life and being raised from the dead).
The instantaneous nature of regeneration- one act causing irreversible new birth.
The interchangeable aorist tense (36 times).
Here are just some of the aorists in John. All are interchangeable with the present tense:
• 2:11: “and His disciples believed in Him…”
• 2:23: “Many believed in His name…”
• 4:39, 41: “the Samaritans believed… and many more believed…”
• 7:31: “the people believed in Him…”
• 8:30: “and many believed in Him…”
• 9:18: “the Jews did not believe..”
• 10:42: “many believed in Him…”
• 11:45: “many of the Jews…believed in Him.”
• 12:42: “many rulers believed in Him…”
This presentation was already complete before I read Bob Wilkin’s wonderful article, “Is Continuous Drinking Required for Eternal Life?” In it he states,
Let’s say ho pinōn (a present substantival participle) means, as Wallace suggests, “everyone who continuously drinks” (p.
What about a person who has a mental condition that causes him to stop (believing), like paranoid schizophrenia, OCD, or Alzheimer’s?…
At the very moment of faith a person is born again once and for all. That is the message of John 3:16; 5:24; 6:35; 11:25-27. At the moment of faith a person “has passed from death into life” (John 5:24). Paul says, “By grace you have been saved…”-a done deal…(Wilkin, “Continuous Drinking,” emphasis added).
Scholars Can Be Biased
Wallace is a scholar.

The One Who Believes: Is Continuous Faith Required to be Born Again?
January 1, 2006 by Bob Wilkin in Grace in Focus Articles
One argument I hear a lot is that since the Scriptures often refer to believing in Jesus using the present tense, this means that only those who endure in faith in Christ until death “truly believe.”
Often the present articular participle is cited. That is the expression ho pisteuōn in Greek. It means the one who believes, the believer, or the believing one.
Dr. Dan Wallace certainly adds some fuel to the fire when he says in his Greek grammar:
The aspectual force of the present ho pisteuōn seems to be in contrast with ho pisteusas. Along these lines, it seems significant that the promise of salvation is almost always given to ho pisteuōn, almost never to ho pisteusas (apart from Mark 16:16 , John 7:39 and Heb 4:3 come the closest [the present tense of pisteuō never occurs in Hebrews]).1
I find the suggestion that “continual belief [is] a necessary condition of salvation” unbelievable. The evidence is overwhelmingly against it.
The Evidence from John 4:13-15:
Ho Pinōn Equals Ho Pisteuōn
When Jesus evangelized the woman at the well, He used the figure of living water to refer to the saving message and the figure of drinking to refer to believing that message.
But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.’
“The woman said to Him, ‘Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.’”
Jesus doesn’t rebuke her understanding on the permanence of the gift. She understood Him correctly. One drink would quench her thirst forever. She would be eternally secure that very moment. What He corrected was her mistaken notion that He was speaking literally of drinking physical water.
@@apostolicapologetics4829
(Continued: Dr. Wilkin)
The Evidence from John 6:35:
Ho Erchomenōs Equals Ho Pisteuōn
There is a clear verbal tie between John 4:13-15 and John 6:35.
The Evidence from John 11:26:
Ho Zōn and Ho Pisteuōn Are Co-Conditions
As “the life,” Jesus promises Martha, “Whoever lives [ho zōn] and believes [ho pisteuōn] in Me shall never die” (John 11:26a).
Thus, ho zōn cannot mean, “the one who keeps on living.” Nor can ho pisteuōn mean “the one who keeps on believing.”
Of course, Jesus explicitly stated that a believer’s faith can cease.

Those who were fallen in Matt 7:21-23 were doing many wonderful works. These guys are so confused and confusing many others.

Wow! How did you mess up these parables. You sir should STOP PREACHING.
Jesus said, “the gate is narrow and the path is hard that leads to life and those who find it are few.” He says also, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
Jesus did not suffer and die so we can have our best life now; so we can live how ever we like just so long as we accept him, that He died to save us and I believe, if Christ’s apostles were here today, they’d say the same or similar.

@@freegraceauI think there may be some truth to the parable of the sower as far as false converts are concerned I just don't know how to judge such a thing and it really not up to me the biggest thing is that Jesus said there were those whose the seeds were planted in shallow ground and when grew were burned up cause of shallow roots I think the other thing he was talking about was legalism in general Judaism being the biggest offender
@@evanwildermann7034 reads the parable of the 4 soils in Luke. Jesus is very clearly that those who believe are saved. What happens after that as far as falling away is a matter of discipleship. Learning to divide between Salvation and Discipleship will open your understanding of the scriptures.

Excellent comment. Can take us a while before we see what the word is really saying - often after bitter experience.
I'm in the same condition, Brother. Fortunately for us, Jesus.
I thought the parable and understanding them had to do with the mystery of the Kingdom vs being verses about salvation.

@ZandJ12345 this is dangerous teaching, brother. If we are wrong and you are right, we will still be saved, and even be rewarded greatly. Why? Because not only did we have faith but we strived to obey.
But if we are right and you are wrong? Many of you will not be saved because most people will just do the bare minimum to be saved, which is just superficially believing with nothing to show for it. After all, what matters most to them is salvation and rewards are just extra.

Bob, could you please give your understanding of what "LORDSHIP SALVATION" IS ? To you, what is the parable of the Sower and the Seed talking about?
Fyi, Bob does have videos where he explains what lordship salvation is.
Because Bob has bad doctrine. God exposed it
Salvation for Comfort is Jesus throwing him out a lifeline and slowly drawing it back while Comfort moves forward trying to grasp it but it's always out of reach.
They show evidence of their belief in Christ by their conduct.
You stated, "By faith in Christ, a person is saved once & for all" & also say, ""We have that gift, we have e/lasting life & we continue to know we have that gift, as long as we *=====>* continue to believe the promise."
So, if a person comes to the place where they NO LONGER BELIEVE the promise(s) of God as it relates to e/lasting life, by that statement above, they lose it/forfeit it or however you want to term it? Based on what you've said, if they denounce their faith, they no longer have it, right?
No, they no longer have assurance of salvation. But they still have eternal life. No contradiction.
You gotta keep on keeping on.. Joe Dirt

Period.
So why then does satan still tempt even true repentant believers ?
@@2Chronicles714_Have you ever heard people say they don't believe in God because Christians have done bad things before?

The only thing that will keep you eternally separated from God.
Sin.
Certainly, we can all agree that this
definition rightly divides Gods meaning;
Repenting and turning away from sin means a recognition of my sins, which involves Godly sorrow,
brokenness and a commitment on my part to change the direction of my life.
Repent means change your mind about your sinfulled life ALL SINS INCLUDING UNBELIEF,

After repentance there must
be a genuine change of life because living in sin is disobedience and rebellion against God and the end result will be
destruction of the soul in hell.
There must be a change in conduct and how you live.

Should we strive to enter the narrow gate ?
Should we try to strive for Holiness?
If we do are we trusting in ourselves instead of trusting in the finished work of Jesus?
it does day God is the judge of all (abraham called God this before He sent angels to investigate sodom and gomorrah)
and it does say God is not mocked, those who sow to the flesh will of the flesh reap corruption
that said, the more i read the bible, it does seem like there is some work/effort involved. That also might be lawlessness (refusing God's law and rule over your life))
the fear of the Lord is the beginning kf wisdom, jesus gave a very serious picture of how we should be tresting sin. Hebrrws says we are not to be regularly sinning otherwise there no longer remains a sacrifice for sin. Unforgiveness looks like it can also stop salvation, see parable of great debtor, and the Lords prayer.
Parable of wise and foolish virgins, half were ready/wise/prudent, the other half were foolish/unprepared and look to have been left behind
doers of the word, not merely hearers who deceive themselves. Faith requires action, i see it like, its belief in something enough that it actually changes how you live. Everyone knows its good to exercise and eat healthy, that knowledge is useless if it is not applied
God will one day separate sheep and goats, the qualifier being our actions.
Many will say on that day...i never knew you, depart from Me
many churches preach a hyper grace message, implying kr claiming God doesnt care about how we live or act post being saved.
As God leads, respond, trust, obey
Jesus says why do you call me Lord and not do what i say?
Dont just take my word for it, read scripture for yourself and verify or disprove it
Very well said!
